General Audio/Video Help & Request Thread

To avoid cluttering up the Links thread, I would like everyone to use this thread for posting up any requests for combo or match videos that you may be looking for. Before asking, though, do a quick search of the AC Video Posting thread to double-check that the video you're looking for is still available. Otherwise, feel free to make a polite request for what you're looking for and (hopefully) someone around here will get back to you soon.

In addition, if you are having problems with viewing or getting access to currently available CMs and/or matches, post here -- with as much relevant detail as you can give -- about what seems to be the problem. Just saying, "I can't see X match video," doesn't give me much to work with if you want me to help you.

Here's a quasi-FAQ list -- please peruse and try out the suggestions before posting for help:

Setting up FlashGet for downloading (match) videos:
As for FlashGet, once you have it installed, go to Tools > Options:

Then under the 'Connection' tab, change 'Max simultaneous jobs' to 1:

Click 'OK'.

Now, go to the original GIGS page, right click the file you want, & choose "Download using FlashGet'. A window will come up that looks like this:

1. Choose the folder you want the vids to be saved to
2. Change 'Split file' to 1
3. Click the 'Save as default' button
4. Click 'OK'

Now that everything's set, you're good to go. From here on, you need only right click the link, choose 'Download using FlashGet', then click 'OK' in the box that comes up. Hope that helps.


Known site-specific problems:

- For any site that has its videos uploaded to Globetown.net:
The trick is the referer page. It has to be coming from globetown.net. If you don't know how to set the referer on a download manager, just do this with a webbrowser (I used Firefox, should work on IE though.)

Step 1: Copy video link to clipboard from GGN
Step 2: Go to globetown.net
Step 3: Paste video link into address bar and push enter
- When downloading from MegaUpload, if the filename comes up as a bunch of letters & numbers, rename it to whatever you like with the .rar extension (ex: filename.rar), & it should extract fine. (Thanks to Sir Plus.)

- A lot of Japanese sites (in particular, sites that have files stored on the page.freett.com server) will not let you download a file by left-clicking on the link -- you will usually end up with an error/404 page. To remedy this, try the following steps in order until you successfully download the file:

1) right-click on the link and select "Save Link As..." or the equivalent option;
2) right-click on the link and select "Copy Link Location" or the equivalent option, then paste (CTRL+V or right-click -> Paste) the copied URL in the address bar, then hit "Enter";
3) give up and politely ask someone here for the file :lol:

- To download videos from YouTube with FireFox, there is a plug-in on the FireFox website that allows you to do so; otherwise, you can google a search string like "YouTube Downloader" and you should be able to find some kind of FLV player/downloader.
The one that I used to use is video.qooqle.jp/dl -- it's very straightforward and hasn't given me any problems at all. However, it's been on "maintenance" for a while now...

The ever-popular FILEBANK
- Please refer to this (http://dustloop.com/forums/showpost.php?p=101155&postcount=1284) post and this (http://dustloop.com/forums/showpost.php?p=102075&postcount=1299) post for downloading from FileBank using Internet Explorer, and this (http://dustloop.com/forums/showpost.php?p=103294&postcount=1331) post for a guide on how to download from FileBank using FireFox.

- For downloading from Miu-Act-1000.seesaa.net:
1) Download the batch file ( ".bat" ) and the parts ( ".00#") into their own folder.
2) Open up Notepad. (It's under Start Menu -> Programs -> Accessories.)
3) In Notepad, open up the batch file. (Note that when you go to File -> Open and browse your directory for files to open, you will have to set it to view "All Files", not just ".txt" files. You can set that in the pull-down menu below the text field.)
4) Delete any lines that start with the word "echo".
5) Save the batch file (to the same name and same place).
6) Go back to the folder containing the batch file.
7) Select and run the batch file. (A command-line MSDOS window will pop up and run the batch file, putting together the parts into one movie.)
8) Watch movie.
9) Enjoy.

If it still doesn't work, it may be because you don't have the latest Divx codec (http://www.free-codecs.com/DivX_Free_download.htm) . (Thanks to Sir Plus and bluekaiser.)

My external hard drive recently lost all data, so I lost 25.6 gigs approximately of GG vids. Little by little, I'm trying to piece it all back together. If anyone wants to make almost ANY video available, it's much appreciated. For now, maybe:

Time and time again, the C-God vid stops downloading.
Would resume for a while, then it for some reason kills the 200 meg progress
I had and starts over. And download accelerator is crap.
How do I finish loading that monster?

I'll try to d/l it to see what's up but the file uploaded fine, should be something wrong with YouSendIt. I think you can use a d/l manager (i use FlashGet but DAP should work also) and start d/l the file from the beginning, then if it hangs up and kills the d/l, see if you can resume it but if you can't, then go back to the link and d/l it again but continuing on the same file. If people have trouble with it i'll just encode it to .avi and make it smaller cause 400mb is huge!!

Check the video links thread, has a lot of combo vids for Slayer including Dr. Koo's collection which is a must have, if you want anymore or looking for a particular vid i can check. I'll have to go through my match vids to find Slayer matches but i'll edit this post later and let you know if i can compile some of them.

Edit: I'll upload a .rar tomorrow with some matches which i'm currently looking through

You might have trouble downloading it normally because YouSendIt tends to just stop in the middle for no reason so use FlashGet to d/l it.

Oh and regarding the other I-no ones...I remember one was called "D-live", one was just called "No Limit" and there was another one a long time ago by Fuku that was really short. It was about 8000 kb, had trance/techno music with a female singer, and the opening combo is IN vs. VE: crouching venom: dash k, 5s, 2hs, s stroke the big tree, rc, dash k, 5s, 2hs, s stroke, rc, dash k, 5s, 6p, 5hs chem love or something like that. Thats just what I remember. Thanks again.

YouSendIt has its own program that you can use to resume interrupted downloads. (On the other hand, just use Opera 8.5 instead of all those lesser internet browsers :lol:) However, The Unholy Order downloaded just fine for me, so I think it may be you guys.
Also, please try to keep down the chit-chat; i.e. talk about how "sick" Kubo's Srayer is in the Srayer board, okay? I'm going to trim some of the posts here because they're starting to get off-topic.

Unfortunately he only played two matches in the whole tournament, one in the Quarter-Finals against N's Venom and the second was the loss against Ogawa in the Finals. You probably have the finals already so if you want i could upload the other one which pretty much went like this: 1st Round rape/rushdown by Venom, 2nd Round rape by Zappa, 3rd Round rape by Zappa. It was entertaining though.

Er, I'd like to make some match vid requests.

1) There have been several large files on Fujiryu's site that had a bunch of matches in one vid. I think I had 3. One was lots of Dizzy and eddie, ky, axl, etc. and another one was pretty normal but everytime sol came up, he would charge IK right away and then the match was skipped ahahah.
2) Any vids from Haitoku-Esu's site prior to Taisen 42.
3) Any taigaa vids other than gro66. I lost them all.
4) Someone with a ton of a-cho/carol vids really needs to zip them all someday.

Also, with the fuku matches that selfish uploaded, there was a problem with the BA vs. AX one, s. #86 and 87 were both read as corrupt by WinRAR but 87 worked fine. 86 however cannot be skipped ahead in time, and around slightly past the start of the 3rd round, it freezes up. Just thought I'd say it.

I know what went wrong with the Fuku matches i uploaded, i'll do it again on wed. and i'll also put up the Carol vids that have been taken down from their site, the rest can still be downloaded from them. Well, they can tech. Almost everyone of them.

There is actually 3 combos in the vid that are neutral tech only (which isn't not a rare thing in CMs, and if find funny that before i said it, some people said "it just takes pratice"), if you can't do all the rest on FT or BK tech, i guess you just need some trainning ;)

I'm currently having a problem downloading videos off of Hameko-Uploader. For some reason, whenever I select a file to download, it looks like I *almost* get the connection established, but then Hameko directs me to their 503 error page.

2 things: I've been trying to d/l the a-cho packs and have gotten 1 and 2 of 2003 successfully. On the others though, the connection always dies at about 38% and I get a msg that the server's connection reset. Anyone else have this problem?
EDIT: Alright, with a-cho, the only files I can't get are 2003 parts 3 and 4. Rest are ok.

Also, the reason my I-no vid description was vague is that the file didn't really have a special name. I think it was called "Ino - special" or just "Ino". The combo it starts out with is Ino vs crouching Venom: dashing j.k, 5s, 2hs, Slash ver. stroke, rc, dash j.k, 5s, 2hs, slash stroke, etc. Thanks anyways. Dewd, get Winrar (http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar351.exe). It's not a codec or anything video related, .rar is a archive format. Like winzip [.zip]. Install that, it won't hurt your mom's pc [last time I checked] It will enable you to extract the Video files IN the .rar file. That goes for lzh too.

Save the batch file (.bat) & the parts (.00#) to the same folder. Run the batch file, & it will create the vid from the parts (which you can then delete along with the .bat). Install the latest Divx codec (http://www.free-codecs.com/DivX_Free_download.htm) if you don't already have it (just the codec, don't need the player) & you're good to go.

I was trying that earlier and it didn't seem to want to make the file for me.

Well, if you double checked that you have all the parts , I'm not sure what the problem might be. If you definitely have all the parts (in the same folder with the .bat of course), run the .bat for those parts, & nothing, then unless anyone else has any ideas, let me know & I'll edit this post with the uppage.


I didn't spend too long on it, but yeah, had all the pieces and the .bat in "New Folder".

I was thinking maybe the language difference had something to do with it, but really I've got no idea.

Open up the .bat file in Notepad and detele all the lines that start with the command "echo" leaving the "copy" commands in place. After that just save the file and run it and presto you got your matches.

Clicking the link tries to go to some wack site. Just put http://www.ps-navel.com/ in the address bar, followed by ggxx1.wmv, ggxx2.wmv, or ggxx3.wmv after that. Sucks that you have to do it that way, but it's the only way I've seen work.

Using a DL manager also works which is how I got them.

I've tried every method (left click, right-click-save-as, copy link into address bar) in IE & maxthon, & tried flashget, getright, & IDM, & I get file not found every single time at both http://www.ps-navel.com & http://aquarium.client.jp/guilty.


I'm pretty sure there's nothing actually there at Aquarium, but even though I couldn't save the files from PS Navel using Opera, I could at least stream it to WMP10 using IE.

Hmmm. This is the same thing that happened with the corrupt Sharon pack. And looking back, it's occuring with a lot of the files that previously worked fine, including the Sharon pack which worked fine when I tested it after I fixed it. I'm gonna download one & check it out. If they can still be extracted, fine. If not, I'm gonna be pissed. Either way, I guess I'll start using a different service.

I'm downloading one anyways, I'll play with the file type and see what happens.

Hey, if you could get those vids that needed the .bat files to work, I'd love any I-No related ones.

As for the Sharon pack, I dunno, weird shit. Checking the download link, the file name comes up as "ad5ba130853f8e391de234ca8d2c2539", so something definitely went wrong there. I've recompiled & reupped it, & fixed the original link. Here are the five files you listed:

#R - sharon(Baiken) - fixed 5 files (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UNILXGO3)

If the filename comes up as a bunch of letters & numbers, rename it to whatever you like with the .rar extension (ex: filename.rar), & it should extract fine.

Alright, I'm trying to sort out all the slash vids so far, and its so easy to fall behind. Anyhow I went through the 5 you fixed and I think you accidentally uploaded Baiken vs Zappa instead of Sharon Baiken vs Ryu Potemkin. Pot one was corrupt. Thanks for the other 4 though!
