From Skeletal Minion:

For the people asking about opening ports:

The reason why you open ports is to make sure your 360's NAT is not Strict or Moderate, both of which may hinder connections to other players (potentially causing "Unable to join session" errors, etc). You want your 360's NAT to be Open. The easiest ways to do this are to go to your router's settings and set your 360's IP address in a DMZ (which will open all ports on your 360), or use something like Port Triggering or Port Forwarding to open the specific ports needed for XBL. Opening your ports is something I highly recommend EVERY online gamer do, as it makes connections/joining rooms go smoother for everybody.

For explanations of these methods and general help with opening ports:

Well, first of all, playing online gives you the option of turning Unlimited Characters on and off, but usually the "unspoken agreement" is that you play Unlimited versus Unlimited so that there's no real issue of unfairness. If your concern is that Unlimited Characters are broken and that's a personal rule, just turn this option off in the first place...but not everyone does this depending on who is hosting.

Some people will use the message "Unlimited Characters Only" in the lobby to denote this before a match, others use the "blink" sign during Character select (turning Unlim mode on and off as a warning). If the other person just picks their character, then it's clear they don't want to play with an Unlim, so it'd be wise not to turn yours on and just leave it off to be fair.

However, you occaisionally come across players who just want to mess around and will pick any and every Unlimited character they've got, regardless of whether or not you've got them all unlocked (which is a disadvantage from square one especially if you didn't get them all as DLC).

This thread is for situations when you're forced to play against an Unlimited character and all you've got is your skill and wits playing with a Normal character. Now, keep in mind, some players actually bother to practice using Unlims (never hurts to learn I guess), so they are the most dangerous, but in general, Beginners are the ones who play them the most. That said, I think I'll repost my FAQ for reference (see attachment).

This lists most of if not all the known changes to Unlimited Characters.

There are a few strategies to defeating characters, a lot of which are Character specific depending on who you main, but here are a few things to consider based on the Unlimited Characters in question:

:RG:: Far and above the choice of scrubs. His biggest threat however is 5D dash cancel/6D-jD spam (note only 5D takes away Guard Primer) and Deadspike Cancel move which will destroy your Guard and have huge hitboxes, but if you have some move that can go through projectiles or has Invincibility frames, use it and don't be afraid to play keepaway with him. Be extremely careful when he has Heat though, since Carnage Scissors seems to come out faster than usual and does more damage. He also has a few tricks for getting Devoured by Darkness in, so be wary of corners as well. One final thing to note, I think IBing and Barrier prevent Soul Eater so that may be a good idea as well.
:JI:: Scrubs will spam 6D and 2D like no tomorrow, but 2D is just asking for a free Counter or Throw on block, totally unsafe. Jin is at his worst when he spams Icecar since it's actually SAFE on block now (even D version), so you'll just have to wait him out and make him come to you...he's not the best under pressure unless he gets DP happy, then just bait and punish.
: D-spam is annoying on mixup but remember she can't cancel her main D chains consecutively in this form (every other move can cancel). She'll try and spam Missile and Fenrir, so you gotta keep the pressure up on her to win. And most people can get punished for spamming Spring Raid as well.
:RA:: By far one of the worst in terms of projectile spam. If George is out, focus everything you have on killing him because he's a pain to deal with once she starts spamming Sword Iris and Lobelia. Also Tempest Dhalia is a valid threat since it's fully powered each time she uses it regardless of how much wind she has...it can seriously break your guard and chain with Sword Iris at any time if you aren't careful to block. She's safest to deal with up close though, and anything that eats through projectiles can and should be used, Tager and Haku should have the easiest time with her mess.
:TA:: changes to 5D and j.D remove a lot of Tao's mixup options so it's actually a good idea to rush her down. If she starts spamming Kitty Litter special it's like dealing with Faust, you just have to wait it out and hope she doesn't use the bowling ball as a rushdown tool.
:CA:: I have yet to see anyone actually be good with Carl in this state, since his HP is actually LOWER than his normal version. There's really no point in killing Nirvana in this state (Unlim Ragna has a hard time doing this), so really you need to take advantage of Carl's slow movement speed and avoid Nirvana as much as possible, even at the expense of Negative Penalty in some situations. If they throw out Fuoco and she misses, that's your chance to rush Carl down. Also watch out for Anima since it's really fast and armored.
:LI:: Equipped with Matenbou she's impossible to deal with, especially with pole parry, crossup dash, and wall bounce loops if she manages to hit you so you would have to bait Tsubame Gaeshi or some other means to get an opportunity to attack, but once unequipped, she still has Charged Three Dragons and All Green as valid threats...I don't know how often All Green is used however.
:AR:: Vulnerable Forward Dash and quick Fever Gauge are his main weaknesses, otherwise he's fast at jumping so be prepared with anti-airs and air-to-air moves. Clouds curse instantly but don't last long so try and wait them out, 2D is a big threat since it hits twice and will curse you anyway even if you blocked it. Since Curse gauge doesn't last very long I don't know how well his combos are in comparison to usual, but they definitely have a lot more range, and it forces him to be more aggressive. SpinSpinSpin is actually an unsafe move to use for him even if it moves in an arc, so if you have a decent anti-air, try it out on him when he does it.
:TG:: Sweeps and throw kill his so-called invincible dash, so use those, if he gets Spark Bolt happy, you'll have to deal with it, but at least his Magnetism isn't as bad as it used to be. King of Tager is now a bigger threat since it has easy input, but other than that, play mixup and keepaway to deal with him. Don't forget he has Airdash, so his jump attacks are more valid.
:BANG:: Ugh...teleports and a Shrike Drop Dash Throw, staying on the ground is a bad idea, but don't get caught by his Guard Points, 5A j.A, or super Phoenix attack (j623A)...once he starts spamming that you're probably done. Shuriken Special B and D are valid threats too since they cover a lot of the field. To say nothing of FRKZ.
:LA:: She's baaaaaaack. :gonk: This time she has even more opportunity to Act Parser her moves, making them even safer and more combo opportunities...and her Cavalier and Blade moves cancel into one another....luckily she can't cross you up with 5C anymore, so she's vulnerable during this. Any scrub who uses her is probably going to go for her CT nonsense which isn't even remotely as damaging as her current combos I think.
:HA:: By far the most broken. Especially if they know Zantetsu loop (easily 7k-10k). If they spam 5D/6D/2D, remember that if a projectile triggered it, it CAN be blocked for about 5 hits or so. TK Tsubaki and TK Hotaru are a valid threat now...and Haku dash (and its cancel property) is just plain annoying. You probably will never find Haku without meter in this state, so about all you can do is hit-confirm anything he throws out that you know has recovery frames. TK Tsubaki, despite being dangerous, is actually unsafe and can be poked, but TK Hotaru is invincible, so keep that in mind. Ragna players should remember they can Inferno Divider cancel off Haku's Ds to stay safe, but the timing is strict, you're done if they catch you with j.D Tsubaki counter. Haku has valid gatlings now with 5A-5A-5C/5B and 6A-6C so be careful. And don't forget to jump if they spam Mugen and Yukikaze. Good luck!
:HZ:: His game is all about getting you into the circle and combo'ing you, so keepaway is the idea (unless you're Tsubaki :8/:), he has a really nasty DP-like move, and now has several air moves that chain into one another and can link into Oroboros if timed right, he also has a mini Hotenjin that links into them too. If you've played Arcade mode you know what a threat he is, but it helps to know what kinds of combos he can do now that he has easy inputs and can spam his moves without his Serpents Benediction stance. Punishing Oroboros seems like the best idea here. Good anti-airs help, and anything that has lots of poke range (Haku's 4C helps a lot).
:TS:: In many ways she's a lot like Haku-men in that she can cancel her special moves even if they're blocked or not...so be prepared for that. She can also charge cancel and action charge her moves, so don't expect her to hang back and charge as much this time around. She isn't as bad as the others, so that's a relief, but be cautious all the same.
:MU:: It's a game of rushdown and out-zoning, pure and simple. Her biggest threats are her anti-air laser that comes out fully charged, and her attacking pods that will hit you even if you hit her after she summons them. She can't charge all her pods anymore but that doesn't save you. She doesn't have nearly as many options in the air that she does on the ground so take advantage of that. She can combo easily with "Sword Spike" and her "Imperial Ray" (explosion shockwave) does nasty damage if you're up close to her, so be careful when she has Heat.
:MK:: She has the worst Damage Modifier in the game, so it's a given that her rushdown can destroy you if she's competent at it. Space Counter loop doesn't exist in this form so that's a relief but...she has Machine Gun Blow which can be DD cancelled, as well as an alternate form of Step-in, and Cross Counter to deal with, so if you can zone her, try to do so...her Step-in is mostly invincible...so it's hard to just simply poke it. 3C can be thrown and swept so keep that in mind. If she has 100% heat look out for her big 9K+ DD combo...there's other things to be wary of, but you really need to avoid her mixups as much as possible.

That's it for now...if you guys have further or more elaborate comments or want to discuss these unfair matchups, this is the best thread for it. And no comments about this being "another Blade thread" please. I'm trying to be productive and helpful to the online players here.

Just think of this thread as a helpful guide to beating Unlimited characters when you aren't using them (or even if you are).

Heya everyone! I have not posted here much so I apologize if this is in the wrong section! About 7 months ago I got into BB:CT! It was my first fighting game I ever got serious into and I had a blast with it! I got pretty competitive and joined a community (Destructive Nature) and began to play in some casual online tournaments and make some good friends! I never got an arcade stick and never desired to get too competitive, but I did want to take a step up in my game and learn from my losses.

Now... I have BB:CS! I main Lambda and boy do I have a blast! There is just one problem... the online community. It's mainly coming from my online buddies who want to play a match or two. They'll win sometimes and that's fine. No big deal. But when I win... I get messages saying "it's because of the online" or "There is no way you should have won that... you have no idea what you are doing."

:O

I thought I knew what I was doing... I won after all. It would be different if it was just one or two people but I would say that 6 or 7 people have blamed the lag or me not knowing what I'm doing. I don't understand... am I really doing something so terribly wrong that I'm winning?

Just would like some thoughts on what you guys think. I typically don't mind so much but I would love to go to some tournaments in Texas (maybe whenever I get on a vacation from work) and just meet some new people offline and have some fun! I definitely don't want to go if I don't know what I'm doing though.

Thanks!

I was wondering if there are any pads that are generally better than others(EXCLUDING PS3 pads) ,and that are highly recommended by cool guys like YOU. This'll make it a hell of a lot easier to choose what kind of brand I should buy in later days. Ok thnx bye.

Hi guys!

Since Dustloop is getting kind of crowded, it's time for Late Summer Cleaning!

I'm deleting old/useless/completed threads, but that's just the first step.

TOURNAMENT ORGANIZERS: When a tournament is completed and the thread is no longer necessary, let me know so it can be cleaned up. Be sure to archive anything you want to save (previous results, etc.). I'd also be cool with stickying active tourney threads for a little more exposure.

STUDY GROUPS: Get your shit together! There are like six study group threads. If you guys are cool with it, I'll make XBL/PSN study threads and sticky them, then you can just figure your shit out from there.

XBL/PSN GENERAL: You guys are crazy. Well, XBL is crazy. PSN is fine. Anyway! I'm going to be deleting/restarting these threads every so often. There's no hard timeline, I'll just do it whenever I feel like it because I'm cool like that. Be sure to save all your clever one-liners and YouTube animu inbeds before that happens.

GENERAL POSTERS: Actually you've been doing pretty okay. Keep it up! :thumbu:

A few things to Digest:

-Any three players, Any same (3) characters: No restriction on character count or level of player
-No HellFromAbove, Ryo Mcfoong, or TheSlyMoogle
-Starts in (6) weeks (Beginning of October), I'll add details in some time.

Post up teams when all is decided, don't rush & make good decisions!

Guys-

1: keep the general discussion out of this thread, b/c It will be large & probably unacceptably massive if we run off tangent often.
2: One player CAN NOT be on numerous teams.
3: As per popular demand, we will do every match best of (3), As Memphis would call this "Best of two: You finish two, than yo the best!"

tl;dr = Best of (3), double elimination.

This tournament is only open to EST / CST players.
(Sorry West Coast, it still lags too much for something that is supposed to be at least semi-competitive.)

General Information:
*NOTICE*-Official Start Time:9:00 PM EST - Please try and get on earlier anyway so I know who is ready and so you can warm-up.
-Length: If you are *successful*, expect your run to last 1hr30mins-2hrs+
-Player Limit: 8 or 16
-Tournament Format: Double Elimination
-Match Format: 3 out of 5 Rounds - In-game setting would be (3)

Ranbat Information:
-The tournament's Ranbat system based off of Gamechariot rankings.
-1st 10 points, 2nd 7p, 3rd 4p, 4th 2p, Participated 1p.
-No character switching during the tournament, but you may switch tournament to tournament.

Rankings:
Current Rankings

Tournament Rules:
-3 out of 5 round matches as stated above (the in-game setting for this is 3)
-Please don't skip the intro, even if it is a myth that it helps, it can't hurt.
-NO ---> Beginner Mode //// Easy Specials //// Unlimiteds //// Character Switching
-Astrals are OK
-Mu / Makoto / *Valkenhayn / *Platinum are OK
-Grand Finals will be 2 out of 3 matches
For those that don't understand how Grand Finals works:
Grand Finals means whoever is still in the Winner's Bracket only has to win 1 SET (2 out of 3 matches). Whoever came out of Loser's into the Grand Finals has to win 2 SETS (2 out of 3 matches TWO different times).

Disconnect/Connection Problem Rules:
-Disconnecting forfeits that Round, start up another match and get the rounds to go back to how they were originally and then the "Disconnector" must let the other person win whatever round was at the point when it disconnected.
Ex. Player A won Round 1, Player B disconnects during Round 2. Start a new match, let Player A win Round 1 because he won it previously, and then let him win Round 2 because Player B disconnected. Match continues at 2-0.

-If the person doesn't sign back on within 5 minutes they forfeit that match. If it wasn't during the Loser's Bracket then they can still continue with their Loser Bracket match if they sign back on in time.

-If two players can't connect to each other, find another person who will host for you, but be quick about it or let me know.

-**DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT LAG** - You know this is online play so if you're that worried about lag you should not be playing (especially since there is no "prize" for winning....yet?).

Communication:
-Please NO headsets
-For this tournament I plan to make a specific PSN chat room.
-Please do not talk a lot on the PSN chat, and only discuss things like hosting and giving me results.
-Feel free to leave the PSN chat once you and your opponent are matched up, but make sure you come back afterward.

Match Recording:
-I plan to record all matches I play by default.
-If I'm not playing myself I can record other matches.
-If you can record your matches, feel free, and then post the links in this thread.
-If you want to volunteer to record other matches, let me know.

**Please continue to sign-up even if it is full, people may/will drop out.**

USE THIS FORMAT ONLY I WILL IGNORE ANY POSTS THAT DON'T USE THIS EXACTLY SO JUST COPY AND PASTE THIS AND INSERT YOUR INFO!!!!

Official Sign-up Format:
PSN I.D.:
Character:
State/Province:
Time Zone:

If you don't use this format I will ignore your post and any post after it until you post it correctly. So you better hope someone else explains to you why you're being ignored. I'm doing this to see if people can actually read and follow directions, since there always seems to be someone who has to ask about rules and what not come tournament time. No exceptions, so just copy and paste and then insert your info, don't just type it however you feel like.

-Sign-ups begin immediately.
-Please continue to sign-up even if spots are filled because there is a good chance someone won't be able to play at the last minute.
-Please sign-up using this format, I don't want to look up your info, and I shouldn't have to.
-Try to not use multiple Alts, you will only be listed once in the rankings anyway, and more than likely everyone knows who you are anyway.
-If you're listed as a replacement player, you should still expect to be playing in the tournament. This is so if I need you, you will be available (on time) and still be warming up as if you were playing in the tournament anyway.

Eorzeapedia [and Dustloop] community thread for the new BlazeBlue: Continuum Shift fighter! This thread will be a BB:CS version of ForbiddenBeats awesome Super Street Fighter 4 thread, SSF4: Go for Broke. We'll have a very loose regular time for playing as a group and use our time together to critique and improve our skills.

I'll be adding any useful links concerning the game in the first posts, and having played the first game, can answer many questions about the series should anyone have something they'd like to ask.

For those who'd like to read a review of this game written by someone who has played the game extensively before, I point you here -> http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?pager. ... 3180608&p=

Best resource for learning the game: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/forum.php (note: this site is all serious business lol)

[Change] The day is now Sunday's at 7PM.

That's all for now~ hope to see you guys in Kagutsuchi, soon O=('_'Q)

I see this, and right now I still don't understand it. My D Code Card has a lot of stats to begin with, but this seems to factor into my win ratio and I'm not sure what it means.

I think someone said Player Skill Rating but does that related to combos? Dropped combos? Damage per second? Defense? What?

I would've posted this in Game Mechanics Forum, but I don't think it's important enough, since D Code isn't entirely reliable to judge a player from (yet :keke:).

Please explain for me. Thank you.
