learning charge characters

Recommended Posts

i'm just thinking i might try learning something, i never managed to do before. charge characters.

since i kind of like P4u Mitsuru, and AH3LM Akane, as characters, but charge movesets always made them unplayable when i tried.

are there any tricks to make them easier, in a general sense. it seems like you have to just hold 4, 1, or 2 for a few seconds to pull off any moves.

You only have to charge for about one second. The most basic tactic for charge characters is holding down-back that way you can keep a down charge and back charge at the same time. You can charge anytime no matter what your character is doing, whether you're jumping, blocking or attacking. You can even start charging before a round begins.

You'll have to get used to charging while you're doing other moves. Look up "charge buffering", there's plenty of tutorials on it, and it really helps you keep a charge when you want it. I know for Mitsuru, you'll definitely want to get used to doing Coup Droit as [1]3A/B, that way you keep your down charge for Bufula.

Another tip is don't get caught up on trying to have a charge at all times. There will be times where you'll have to stop holding down-back and start moving. You'll also have to break your charges when blocking crossups.

For p4au mitsuru's combo, you'll have to use 1, 4 or whatever the motion is necessary to get the charge time down for the attack.  You'll want to start charging those asap.

With ah3lm, I only got the game like a month ago and put in like 20 min on trying out saki, and the charge feels a bit harder to do?  seems like its not as easy as p4au (timing), but you can still use 1 or 4 to charge attacks.

personally, feels like ah3 charge motion is 4>6>button, where as p4au charge motion can be done with 4>6+button.
