General Posting Guidelines [READ BEFORE POSTING]

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the BlazBlue General forums! The purpose of this forum is to discuss anything related to BlazBlue that is not gameplay related. It is also a hub for information about the game (such as news, console information, media, match videos, etc.). Discussion in this forum is encouraged, but only intelligent discussion is accepted. Here's some guidelines on what to do and what not to do.

Examples of good, intelligent discussion

  • Providing new information about the game, preferrably with news links
  • Contributing to the thread/discussion and staying on topic
  • Use proper grammar, write complete sentences, create new paragraps when appropriate, avoid using too many emoticons

Examples of what NOT to do and a good way to have your post deleted, get infracted, or banned

  • Post image macros/memes
  • Post one liners/sarcastic remarks
  • Post only emoticons
  • Flaming other users/using excessive profanity
  • Making threads like "Who here also hates Tager's 720? It's soooo anoying amirite!?"
  • Talking about how hot a character is, how big/small Noel's boobs are, how Ragna and Jin make a kawaii couple, etc. (seriously, go to GameFAQs if you want to talk about that dumb shit)

Remember, these are just guidelines and by no means an absolute ruleset; these are merely examples. Use your brain before you post! If you don't, you could very well find yourself banned!

If you are caught being stupid, first offense will be a warning. Second offense will be a temp ban for at least a week. After that, all bets are off...

Also, be sure to read the forum rules!

When someone posts a stupid thread, don't reply to it.

Don't warn them that they're about to earn my unending wrath. Don't joke about how retarded they or their thread are. Don't post image macros, /facepalm, or other stupid shit like that.

Do try to salvage the thread, if anything there is worth salvaging. If a worthwhile discussion can be brought out of a stupid thread, that's a good thing.

When someone posts a reply that isn't on-topic, don't reply to it.

Once someone goes off-topic, it's usually a Lemmings-esque jump to having everyone off-topic. This is okay in general discussion threads - but we don't have those anymore. Feel free to remain on the thread's actual topic, though.

If you must acknowledge the post, tell them to remain on topic, or to create a new thread for their topic if it merits discussion. On that note,

If you have a new topic to discuss, make a new thread.

It's not hard, just click the button. Make a post with useful or relevant info, or that thoroughly asks the question or explains the point you're trying to make. If your thread is dumb, I'll let you know, and you can avoid that topic in the future.

Before you make a thread, use the search function.

Duplicate threads are worse than stupid threads, especially if it's a duplicate of a stupid thread.

NEW RULE: Please do not necro threads.

Necroing threads is basically posting in an old thread. If the topic's last post is more than three months apart from today's date, then it is considered an old thread. This may not apply to threads that have a lot of posts and/or is meant to be brought back by the OP, but in these cases, necroing threads should have a good reason behind it.

Necroing threads will now earn you an infraction.
