2GB Combo is James Xie. He plays Platinum.

Umm... I'm pretty sure I've met 2GB Combo in real life and it was not James Xie. Nor have I ever seen 2GB Combo play Platinum. I could be wrong since I don't clearly remember meeting him, but i'm like 99.9% sure lol.

Unless Coopa was trolling during that entire match, regardless of who 2GB Combo is, 2GB Combo was James Xie in that match. James Xie plays Platinum though, and while he can play other characters, it looks like he only mains Platinum.

I actually don't like how Relius approached that match against Bang to be honest. I thought he was a little too aggressive without Ignis to cover him in neutral. If you notice, outside of his 2C usage (and one time with 2B), he loses in neutral every single time to Dacid and is being forced on defense way too often. Relius was getting almost all of his damage either through defense or momentum shifts from defense directly into offense. If it weren't for his solid defense in this match, it actually would have been a lot more lopsided than it actually was.

EDIT: I saw the first match with Shadow against Hazama. He approached it exactly the way I thought Relius would (very difficult to battle at neutral, goes on offense ASAP) which is also how Onii approaches this match-up. This is also a good vid to highlight how hard it is to get a clean hit on someone with Relius during pressure and how much meter you have to use up sometimes to get it.

Those matches against Ragna are worth watching.

A couple of things worth paying attention to in there, like how he only goes into max 5B or 2B range after a blocked 214A so he doesn't get DP'd, and how he uses 2D mixup less on Ragna since Ragna has a legit DP

So basically, he's trying to avoid gaps where Ragna can DP out of. I think this is a good idea, as a momentum shift in this match-up can be bad news for Relius. It's also worth noting that he uses 236D oki in corner instead of a more traditional 214C or even a safe jump set up after 3C. Again, to defend against DP. I'll check out the rest of the matches tomorrow.

This guy doesn't start off too strong, but ends up going into beast mode later on, trolling 2 players in the process. The most interesting thing about these vids was using 2C to beat overheads, and 2C to deal with certain chain approaches by Hazama (both in the same match), at least to me.

You can do a lot of stuff during that super. I normally just do 632146C > 2C > 214C > 66 (push the opponent into the 214C swings) > W/e normals > Air Combo

A lot of what is going on in this match is what I talk about in the match-up thread. Shadow is trying his best to avoid 2D at mid-range neutral (very few haphazard summons) and is avoiding aerial confrontations with Jin whenever possible. The one time he was up close he smacked Jin up with his 2A, which Jin can't beat without a DP or a 6B, and that's only if you mash the 2A.

Shadow doesn't engage Ragna in a head-on footsie battle, and prefers to chill out and wait for him to make a move to punish accordingly. The entire match Shadow respects Ragna's DP and keeps his pressure and oki options simple. I personally think the Ragna player should have been more aggressive, but whatever. He does things pretty much text book, which is why he's my favorite Relius player.

I guess Shadow got bored after that last match and went balls out rush down in round 1. Tomo Gatsu does what I think Gomikuzu should have done and plays more aggressively against Relius, moving into his comfort zones a lot more frequently, and putting Shadow on defense a lot more often. Shadow eventually decides to go back to approaching the match-up text book style in round 3, and shuts down Ragna pretty convincingly.

There isn't much to say here. He plays a lot more aggressively than you can in these matches. The most notable thing here is his "instant" j.C overhead option he has on Tager because of his large hitbox, which he terrorizes poor Tager with the entire time (lots of 2D high/low pressure). Oh, he also baits out the burst hard at around 7:28 (1st video) and celebrates with a Led Ley, lol. He continues to troll Yumura by doing Led Ley over and over again around the 8:50ish (1st video) and 1:50ish (2nd video) mark too (btw, this is what I do too). I also thought it was cute how he tried to kill Yumura with a 236D at the end of the 2nd video.

There were two Relius players in the actual exhibition (TORI being one of them), which I'll also leave the time for. I found Shadow's defense to be fairly impressive in these videos. Unfortunately, when you're playing against a wild and aggressive player that knows Ragna's sweet spots against Relius, it's only a matter of time before the wall comes down. Shadow does some Led Ley mixups in his pressure strings against Kaqn though which were funny.

Not even the almighty Onii could stop Frederic...I mean, Valk, from going on a rampage. Onii puts up a valiant effort at neutral though to keep the match close (with some solid reads). He uses 214C after a 214A a lot against both characters though in these matches.
