(theory) why JI on the last normal cancelled into HCL is so inconsistent

Recommended Posts

I've searched the forums to try to find the answer to this myself, and I know HCL 6FRC6 is the only thing anyone seems to talk about on this board, but I think I figured out why it's so inconsistent

at first i thought it was my 6FRC6 motion, so i experimented with some different B&B's.

5S [JI] 6P 5H HCL 6FRC6 -> I noticed that any time i did a regular JI on an earlier normal she would IAD 100% of the time, so long as I got the FRC.

5S 6P 5H [JI] HCL 6FRC6 -> this is the one that rarely works. I do a 360 on the last 5H to JI. This seems like the easiest and most practical B&B to pull out of your ass for i-no, so why can't I get it to work consistently?

I think the answer is in why jump installing works to begin with. I think the times that it works, i happen to be pressing the K to launch the HCL at a very specific, sensitive frame that calculates the jump as not installing, but actually in the process of cancelling. I don't think smashing it out as fast as possible will solve all my issues. If this is true, it would cause me to abandon ever relying on this sort of cancel as opposed to something more practical, which is a shame because a consistent 5K 360 HCL 6FRC6 is so useful, almost essential for punishment even.

How many of you can get this sort of ground HCL -> airdash consistently? Is there anything else I should know about single hit JI HCL airdashes that I'm missing?

also hello

the timing to input 6frc6 is different for a normal ji as opposed to a tk ji, iirc when u normal ji ( like 5k 8 5s 632146 k) its like 4 frames 2 input 6frc6 whereas if you tk as in ( 6p 5h 63214(7)(8)(9) 6 k ) you have more time to input 6frc6 i think 6 frames..? but essentially to get it consisently you have kinda delay the 6frc6 ... when u tk. On something like j.k 2k 2s 632146k , you have input 6frc6 fast as hell

There is really no point to be jump installing anything when your combo goes from 5H to HCL. You just TK it.

My theory is that you're considering it inconsistent because you're not jump installing at all but actually tiger kneeing the motion.

do cs HCL airdash or 5k HCL airdash.

and believe it or not, I-No actually holds a JI for an extremely long time. You can actually do stroke the big tree > 2S HCL and it will hold the JI.

dont worry, its a hard thing to do and takes a long long time to get consistently

Probably u are doing sth wrong, try to delay the K on the TK HCL so she actually "short" jumps , that will give u more time for the AD.
