pktazn Report post Posted June 27, 2012 Deleted the off-topic posts. Please keep it about the Tsubaki vs Ragna match-up~ You can bring it to the general discussion if you wish to continue it though. I kept Toan's though because it made me laugh, cry, hold my head up high and then cry some more.
toanenadiz Report post Posted June 27, 2012 This may sound like a dumb question, but what do people do when caught in Ragna's 22C combo ender? I used to try to break the stagger because, hey, I'm staggered, but today I just tried blocking low and being ready to tech throws, and it seems to work way better, since I don't have to worry about hitting a button after I've auto-recovered or something, and at worst I get hit for a tiny bit of extra damage. What do other folks do? Ragna's 22C does a consistent 400 damage regardless of proration. If you don't try to tech the stagger, they may just keep doing 3C > 22C to get free damage on you. What do other folks do? What I do depends on the player really. My actions consist of either not teching against those who do not use 3C > 22C, or teching against those who I feel will use it. If I do not know the player (haven't played them before) then I will tech immediately to find out what the player is like. I do not mash DP, I just block, but mashing DP does help ocassioanlly. You don't want to be sitting in that pressure forever. Also be aware that there are certain combos which will allow Ragna to do 22C > dash 2A > GREEN GRAB, immediately. It happens if he prorates the combo too much, just be on the lookout. It's does not sound like a dumb question at all Airk. It's all good.

What do other folks do? It's not that hard to just tech the stagger and block... If you don't tech the stagger, there's a couple of things they can do: - 5A, immediate grab. I do this sometimes. The reduced hitstun turns it green and most people don't tech it. - Do nothing and get a new combo while you crumple. toan, 3C 22C doesn't work repeatedly cause of the 10% repeat proration, if the Ragna does that to you just tech 3C on reaction and punish him. toanenadiz Report post Posted June 28, 2012 You can tech 3C > 22C in the middle of it? I know that it will force you to air tech after two or three times but I didn't think you can do it on your own. And I am curious now. Would that auto air tech lead to a favorable situation for Ragna against Tsubaki? Who has frame advantage at that point assuming the Ragna knows you are forced to air tech and doesn't try a follow-up 22C?
Fluck Report post Posted June 28, 2012 No, you are right that it's only techable if it's after two 22Cs. Actually Ragna can just jump cancel his 3C and he'll always be at an advantage, but if he's still trying to go into 22C then obviously not. It depends on what Ragna does. MashThat5A Report post Posted June 28, 2012 If the Ragna does 2A after two 22Cs mash DP. There's 0 hitstun on the 2A so your DP will always win. SMART Ragnas, however, will do 5A and do one of the following. 5A>2A frametrap 5A>2C frametrap 5A>jump barrier to bait reversals (or air grab for Tsubaki DP...lol) 5A>throw
TD Report post Posted June 28, 2012 will 5a airgrab beat all versions of tsubaki's dp, including the d version?
Kiba Report post Posted June 28, 2012 It'll beat the A and D versions. Not sure about the other two.
Airk Report post Posted June 28, 2012 It'll beat the A and D versions. Not sure about the other two. It kinda depends on when they try to grab you - all versions lose under the right circumstances, but B version will avoid "early" grabs (while you're still rising, but if they jumped over you so the hitbox whiffs). C version might screw up some grabs just because it launches you so much higher, but you'd never actually do this on wakeup. Time to do more wakeup 2C. :P
Teutonicknight Report post Posted August 28, 2012 I'd stick with her just cause' she looks better than Ragna does, lol. Kidding aside, whenever I played Ragna briefly, he feels almost too easy to use. Low health? So what, the guys drains life anyways, so it doesn't bother him much, and his offense is retardedly good. Not to mention he is REALLY fast for how much power he has. Range is also good. The guy is pretty much "Easy Mode". I still prefer my skill-based fighters like Makoto, Hakumen, Valk, and Tsuabaki, so much more rewarding to win with in my opinion. Tsubaki needs more love. No no, according to the Ragna forums, Ragna is fine and his mixup is bad. In fact, he needs buffs!
