[CSE] Noel vs. Tager

Just hope you're either far enough away to not get hit, or close enough to poke him out of it before it goes active.

Other than that, just block and pray for the best.

Blocking it and getting magnetized is a suicide, at least in my opinion. What Im looking for is a move for countering it, I thought that our 5B works good but I would be grateful if u confirm it to me cos Im not really sure :/

If you use 5B when it's already active then you'll get CH, and Tager can confirm into a good combo after a CH 2D. It's like I said in my last post, if you're close enough to poke him before he moves forward(Before the move goes active) then you can hit him with 5B, but if you're too far away for your pokes to reach, but not far enough away for 2D to whiff, then you have to either block, or jump and hope that you jumped in time for 2D to whiff.

My 2 cents on 2D - If you do choose to block it, the attack is -1 on block. Noel can use 2/5A to counter anything he does if he decides to attack, obviously anything besides 360A/720 or MTW. However, if he does 2D from a further distance where the move hits in its later active frames then he is at an advantage. By how much really depends on the distance used but unless IB'd(still can possibly trade) it's better not to press anything. Now what I've been trying to work into my game is to j.D inside of that mid-range where Noel's 5B will whiff but Tager's 2D will still connect. Unfortunately it's not invincible to 2D but it should work better compared to jumping and hoping it whiffs because her hurtbox is higher up than normal.

That sounds like a really good alternative actually. Especially due to the fact that on CH, we can get 6k if we're close enough to the corner, and I believe we can still get about 4k midscreen on a CH j.D, all meterless.

I don't really think this is the best option, but I've had plenty of instances where a well timed 2D has beaten Tager's 2D

I highly advise against that lol, but I'm surprised it's ever worked.

Really? I thought 2D would've been a good counter for Tager 2D... Welp, I guess I know now that it isn't ^^;. Although it's still scary to have to think about getting 720C'd during your blockstring X__X.

I'm honestly surprised Noel's 2D ever beat Tager's 2D, the amount of active frames alone should've stuffed her 2D. Generally you don't want to use drives to stop 2D, it'll nearly always beat whatever you use and give Tager a free CH combo which can lead to quite a bit of damage and of course GF oki. If you're close enough you can hit Tager before 2D starts and you'll get a crouching CH, but if it's active frames have already begun than you're best bet is to either try and jump away or just block and be prepared for a game of rock, paper, scissors where no matter what you chose, you are still are at a disadvantage.

I hate this match up, it cost me grand finals and my undefeated streak at the last tournament I was at.
