D Fish Summon for okizeme looks to be interesting so far, from what I have seen in some match vids.

On a successful hit, it causes a brief moment of stagger.

On block, it has a 'hard hit' effect.

  • TK Bubble being utilized here makes for an interesting scenario. An auto-exploding bubble here could possibly be used to prolong pressure, limit the opponent's movement range (depends on which bubble summon is used), or even create another opportunity for a mixup of some sort.

In the latest vid Kazuki does a shitload of

KD Fish > 2k > 421S > IAD mixup in the corner. Seems relly solid thanks to the long blockstun by K fish

He also does a sweet-ass confirm where he comboes into bubble loop by planting a bubble while the opponent is staggered by D fish

  • The hit-confirmed 2D > (H laser wallstick) is interesting.
  • This setup is most likely to be dependent on distance, relative to a wall. Otherwise, you might only get knockback from the aerial H Laser hit.
  • In regards to the scenario in the video, it might be possible to do the following combo sequence instead: AD j.2S > j.H > land > jump > air combo
  • There might be an opportunity for other combo options after 2D > (H Laser wallstick) (will likely require testing/experimentation).

IIRC, 2H gave you more time to setup. In #R, H fish, which shot faster, became very close to a perfect crossup off of 2D. This would mean in AC+R, 2D -> HD fish likely would give them quite a window to escape, though this is testable in AC if it mattered.

tldr; It is probably just a 2h setup against knowledgeable opponents.

  • Though the hit-confirm follow-up was an air-to-ground combo, via an AD scenario after a j.214K bubble summon, I wonder if you would be able to follow-up with a dash into a ground combo instead if you chose to land on the ground after the j.H, provided you still got the hit-confirms from j.H > (D Fish bite).
  • The j.214K bubble summon here is probably some sort of defensive measure if the pressure string was blocked, or something.

I wouldn't be surprised of a bubble pop on the way up would give you another jump high low, like jump 2s early, pop bubble, ect with high low.
