Petition for NA 360 release?

Recommended Posts

we really dont have a way of accurately deducing which port is "easier" given what we know

We're not 100% sure, but I've heard that 360 ports are a LOT easier than PS3 ones due the 360 basically being a big PC. PS3 on the other hand gives everyone headaches.

So my point still stands, you'd have to ask specifically for a PS4 port which is [in the grand scheme of things] no different from asking for a 360 port.

Except probably lot more likely since a lot of JP players will have PS4 as well.

Sony confirmed in February that PS3 titles [physical or digital] will not run on the PS4. PS3, Vita, and PS4 will share the network, but if the game isn't formatted for the console it won't work [just like now, it may be on PSN but a Vita can't play a PS3 game and vice-versa).

So my point still stands, you'd have to ask specifically for a PS4 port which is [in the grand scheme of things] no different from asking for a 360 port.

Also Dark Ranger this isn't a matter of "localization" it's a matter of programming, and there are far too many legal hoops for Arc to ever consider such a thing [for the most part Arc even wants to be independent, only relying on Aksys for NA distribution because they aren't big enough yet to supply more than 1 region with physical copies].

And yet they've talked about possibly using Gaikai for PS3 titles (which comes out in 2014, coincidentally same release schedule as NA BBCP).

What SKD is talking about is entirely plausible for them to do, and is more or less already happening on PSN with current digital PS3 titles. The networks for those are same now between digital/physical, which means when Gaikai comes around and those same PS3 games are released I have imagine they would still share the same networks.

So with that said, they wouldn't have to "port" anything other than make it available digitally through Gaikai and what SKD suggested would be a more reasonable course of action for people so they aren't buying an old system for "one game" (although imo PS3 has plenty of good games lol).

Yeah, ive heard that along with the conceptual nightmare that is porting ps3 to ps4. There was a recent development in that regard though, unity playstation dev tools? Im unsure about how well cp could use that considering its been in production for a while now and i would refrain from making optimistic leaps but its still just a more profitable option in the end.

oh yeah, gaikai too. i wasnt even thinking of that hahaha

I've brought up Gaikai and the first thing people bring up is lag (both from streaming "offline" and possibly "online") which we have no idea how good [or bad] that will be since we don't know what PS4's network capabilities are yet. And I've heard of Unity, but yeah since it's relatively new, no idea how that would work.

[i feel] asking for a [PS4] port is redundant as Arc are port monsters [2nd only to Square] and I can see portable and next-gen versions in consideration. But you guys act like PS3/360 are just going to vanish into smoke the minute November comes around, there are releases planned till 2015 and at the ver least in 2014 both will have a strong presence in the market still. Also there's probably a good chance of a digital ver of CP existing eventually given how strong the digital market is [and growing]. After all CSE had one and it allows Arc that autoimmunity they want to covet.

In regards to the topic itself, good luck. You will need SEVERAL thousand signatures. Dustloop itself only has just over 28,000 members and that is counting EVERYONE.

To paint the picture even more grim for 360 players just to make the point that it isn't likely to work,

***

Sales data for Extend is incredibly lacking. US sales information doesn't seem to even EXIST, and NA sales for the BB games have constantly dropped between versions. Japanese sales for PS3 Extend is apparently at 74,275 total since release (1 year + 4 months). Japanese 360 Extend information doesn't exist either.

***

Looking at the information provided through netplay, on PSN there have been 101,959 "accounts" that have netplayed. On XBL there have been 14,001.....that is not a typo. When I first started posting this kind of information out of curiosity people were saying the numbers were skewed since PSN accounts are free to make. This was back when PSN was at 56k and XBL was at 10k (2 months after US release). XBL's numbers have barely went up at all.

-2 months after US release = 10,603

-5 months after US release = 13,102

-1 Year + 4 months after US release = 14,001

***

NA sales for Extend itself were also incredibly low going by what other information has been provided by other games.

-Week 1 US CT = PS3 42k / 360 41k

-Week 1 US CS = PS3 18k / 360 14k

-Week 1 US EX = PS3/360 = N/A

-But Rayman Origins on Vita came out same week and sold 7k and was ranked 68th out of 75th, with Extend for EITHER console being nowhere in sight.

-For Week 3 of Extend's release, FFXIII-2 on 360 was 75th and sold under 6k during it's 5th week, so all versions of Extend sold even less than that apparently.

So not to be the one negative about this, but the chance of this succeeding is incredibly unlikely.

i mean, what im really just trying to say is money talks, and a more profitable move is a more realistic one.

In that sense, asking for a ps4 port makes more sense than asking for a 360 port.

While you as a consumer has to buy a new console, if they actually made a port for ps4 it would be way more profitable than a 360 port (which has zero market presence in japan).

The 360 may as well already have vanished into smoke in arc's eyes, which is why i dont agree with the implication that a 360 port would do /anything/ for them.

If they had money to throw around and make 2 ports (ps3 and 360) we wouldnt be in this situation in the first place. The only way for them to consider a port period is if its more profitable to them.

I also dont believe it will make much a difference, but if you choose to make the effort to put together a petition and gather signatures you may as well propose a stronger idea...

To my dismay, I have to agree with Zeth/SKD. Kinda sucks though. PS3s will probably be cheaper anyway since PS4 is going to drop, so there's always that to look forward to.

Still, if you guys are willing to launch a petition just to do it and see how many signatures we can get, I'd be down with signing, as well as looking for other signatures.

Play Halo with us. IT'S TIME

Well, if they are going Sony only that means the next BB after CP will probably be on PS4.

If you're planning on just getting a PS3 for BB, you won't need a PS4 until the next BB is announced, which is still years away. Getting one as soon as it's released would be an unnecessary expense. It always costs more to be the first to have a new product.

I was away form the scene from 2006-2011 so I've only played GG and P4 never been involved in BB. I wanted to give BB a try when CP came out but ya if its not coming out on Xbox then thats not going down lol. So if there is a petition I would def sign it.

You can be close minded and keep calling them assholes and stop buying their games. Halo 5 was announced at E3

What the hell does Halo 5 have to do with anything? Heck, I was done with the series since 3 finished the fight

i don't even know what this topic is talking about anymore, and i don't think anyone's going anywhere with anything, so i'm locking this thread. OP, if you really are planning to start a petition, let me know and i'll open it back up.
