11:16, 17th Sep 2013 Chaoschao222 deletes the thread, then un-deletes it literally 1 minute later at 11:17

followed by posts of nsfw images in a ragna combo thread, a new thread in zepp with nsfw images, and this thread converted into a complaint thread about the chubaki thread being deleted. also, the last post in the chubaki thread was approximately 10 months ago and the thread remains locked.

do you really think spamming NSFW images (not chubaki images) is a valid form of protest?

let me tell you a poorly kept secret about dustloop: we are not a standard fan site! our primary concern is about competitive gameplay. debating about who should be added to the playable roster backed by storyline reasons is the equivalent of debating fantasy fights between goku and superman. if you want to do that kind of stuff, do it in irc, skype, groups, etc. do not do it in the GAMEPLAY SECTION.

we clamp down on these "general discussions" because forums are a TERRIBLE MEDIUM for this type of watercooler talk. then when actual info and relevant disucission happens, it gets lost almost immediately in wave of hype posts and watercooler talk, thus making the thread useless for its intended purpose of discussing new + gameplay. again, if you want a blazblue/guilty gear themed watercooler discussion, go to the aforementioned places. do not use the gameplay sections for this.

While we're at it. For the Gameplay thread, when new news DOES come out, what exactly are you looking for? Outside of just Q&A about basic facts I mean. Because almost everything else kind of falls into the hype/watercooler type talk.

I whole heartedly agree. That's precisely when I created the EU Skype chats. I completely agree with you that everything has it's place, whether it be here or in the real world. But I just think that it's unrealistic that things wont get just a little bit off topic (And I use that term in the loosest possible sense. IE, not DIRECTLY related to the scrap of info just translated), that's just natural, things spiral out and people wander, you cannot really help that. But I seriously disagree with how the moderators deal with it.

The Man's response to this whole thing was unprofessional and grossly inconsiderate towards what should be Dustloop's mission of growing the interest and quality of the Anime FGC. I hold you all to high standards - some of the attitudes shown in this thread and surrounding this discussion suggest a complete disinterest in having a more successful or truly competitive community. I'm calling out you guys on bad behavior. In the future, you should either discuss this more honestly with the community you are serving or handle it more professionally.

The Aggrieved party's response to this was also bad. You should know better than to be doing this shit like spamming and retaliating. Your behavior sucks, too.

Despite that, there's some good points being brought up, here. Let's learn from this. This community can be better and it doesn't involve getting rid of people or making sure X, Y, or Z kind of people stay out.

"Please do not be interested in our site, please use another one." is not something that should ever, ever be suggested in anyone's speech. Anyone that talks like this just outed themselves.

It's WORK to grow and maintain a community. Good members don't fall out of the sky. They are discovered, made, cultivated, and maintained.

As for Chubaki - It's locked. I'm not sure what kind of precedent this will set for the future, but I hope an honest and polite discussion about this can take place.

There seems to be some sort of hidden implication here that I was responsible for some spamming incidents or something; that's not the case, I was just genuinely curious as to why Chubaki specifically was deleted when there are so many other dead threads in the Zepp Museum. If it's in response to the spamming, that seems kind of like a revenge-deletion; if it's because it's not seen as being meaningful then surely everyone elses' contributions should be examined and judged, too.

It's also kind of telling that this thread was completely ignored until it turned into a dialogue about Chubaki. There already seems to be a strong "us vs them" mentality regarding EU and it's stuff like that and Big Brother moderation that made me lose interest in the first place. I have nothing else to add here and I guess I'll surface in another 6 months when the new P4A is released (maybe, Atlus kindof takes the piss releasing a new game so quickly with no news about Persona 5 and when EU only recently got the first one.)

shtkn already posted the moderation logs of the thread, it was never gone (as shown I deleted it for a single minute [due to a mistake I made], but this was after this thread already began). The porn spamming also happened after this thread began, so if revenge is involved, it's not on DL's end. This issue, and thread should be resolved by now, you've gotten your answer multiple times, gecko.
