[AC+R] Testament Q&A

Are there any good crossup setups with his new teleport? Like, would placing the tree then teleporting behind the opponent be a good idea? Also, are we creating new matchup threads for the +R update?

Pretty much everyone just does exe beast -> teleport midscreen. The tree setup you described wouldn't work due to the way tree works, and you'd likely just get thrown out of it.

Matchups will be fleshed out at a later date (remember, not many people have access to/experience with +R as of yet).

Man Testament has so many fucking cheap mixups in this game. It's disgusting honestly lol. I'll make a post within the next week and try to lay out everything I know of.

1-If i did a combo that knock down the opp before testament and i have these option :

A-Ending it with the skull..

B- Do the EXE Beast oki's..

Is there match ups i better do option A ??

2-After inflecting poison or skull in opp..is ruining away a good option ?? especially if the opp has burst or 50 meter (for dead angle).. And does testament has good keep away options ??

I feel overall it's better to just go for Exe Beast oki. More often than not, it's really not worth sacrificing okizeme to go for curse.

Running away is fine provided you aren't at a massive life deficit. I tend to keep my distance after poisoning someone and let them hang themselves.

Testament has tools well suited for keeping people out (f.S, 2S, j.S, j.D, Net, Skull).

So Alzarath, would you say that generally speaking it's better to go for raw curse, usually with the use of FB curse? Also, if they try and duck it, would setting up S EXE Beast while the curse is over their going for 22K teleport and using 6P be a viable setup?

If you just want them to stand into the curse, then yes except you don't need to teleport. Just make them block Exe Beast or w/e and throw out an overhead.

first a question. what's the frame time on forward exe FRC, seems like it's like from frame 5-10, it's so ridiculously quick and lenient.

second is just something I'd figure I'd bring up. Because of how quick the FRC comes out, the game still has your 41236 motion stored, so if you negative edge any button directly after, testament will immediately do another move.

i.e. 41236 HS, FRC, release S = instant double EXE.

I found the easiest way of doing this is kinda a reverse piano motion

41236 HS, [HS] + S + K, , [K] (releasing HS counts towards FRC, so releasing it and pressing the other two buttons, then releasing S immediately after gets the desired effect)

The new FRC point is from frame 2 to 9 iirc. The double beast was mentioned somewhere too. But the negative edge hint is good, I'll give it a try asap.

No it's just moved. I think the AC HS and D colors are Slash and Reload D or something. At any rate, they're in there somewhere.

Nope. They're gone, I went through all of them when I first got the game.

Best meterless combo from warrant?

Meterless Warrant combos aren't really possible unless you sent them into a trap or something, the recovery is far too long.

I wouldn't say that he's one of the best chars in +R. He's really good but has weaknesses. His beast pressure is awesome, his zoning imo really good and he has good corner carry potential and an interesting but not overpowered mix up-Game. But under pressure he lacks options since Exe Beast doesn't activate instantly no matter what anymore. He also lacks a true reversal without 50% tension. His dmg output without tension/already poisoned opponent is low and one flaw in his beast pressure can turn the tides really fast.

I disagree, he may have been nerfed from ac but testament is still really really good. Off basically any air or ground confirm you can take them to the corner. His teleports, when you use a beast to cover him are very useful. He has amazing pressure and new hitomi placement and better zeniest, + the hitomi and beast frc..also fb skull forces your opponent to play around it and if it hits, really changes momentum. Yeah the damage kinda sucks but once they are poisoned, it adds up. Hey it could be worse, you could be playing venom
