Sakaku

[CP] Rachel vs. Tsubaki

Ok, didn't think it would give me that many issues, but it is. That orb followed by a shield charge.... are there any good ways to bait it? Should we not zone as much as we used to in this matchup?

You can bait it with 2C, though you need to be careful because it kinda requires that you're not doing anything with some recovery and you need the reflex for it. They may eventually learn to bait the 2C by solely using the fireball. If you check out the a-cho match with Kazu@Ginga and N-Otoko, it may help. Here.

Like Kiba said, 2C. 6B even beats it but you're going to need enough distance and time to get that hitbox out, so 2C's safer. Remember to watch Tsubaki's Install meter to make sure she even has that option of 236D after the fireball. If the Tsubaki player catches on that you're just waiting to bait that 236D, she'll try to instead build some Install meter. So instead, you can super jump and set up a pumpkin or lobelia or something.

But yeah, zoning in this matchup is fine (just don't give her too much time to build five charges all the time). You're just going to have to pick your spots better and try to not throw anything out as soon as you see 236D.

46D is totally not an issue. just pay attention.

2 charges? pay attention. Rachel can also punish long range charging so easily.

Any zoner should always be paying attention to whether Tsubaki has 2 charges or not before doing any auto-pilot zoning. If you're worried about not having the reflexes to get 6B out in time/2C out without being punished, even just going to the air when you see [4]6D>236D's telegraphed start up is a way of dealing with it.

And throwing out random Tempest Dahlias when Tsubaki has 2 charges is a bad idea, but again, it all comes down to paying attention to her install meter.
