[iVGC Seeding Event] DokuSaru Arcsys & Marvel Tournament

This event will take place on January 18th & 19th at Smartoys Liège, in Liege, Belgium.

The single player Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 event is an official International Video Games Cup (IVGC) seeding event, and will follow its system (http://www.cannesivgc.com/the-ivgc-seeding-point-program/)

1/ Schedule

- Singles events on Saturday 18 from 11 AM to 3 AM (CET)

- A nightful of FGC shenanigans at an affordable yet comfy hotel (2 nights for 3 people for around 30€/pers. [or less if you're not picky]) (we strongly suggest you try to book at the local Ibis first)

- Team events on Sunday 19 from 11 AM to 4 PM (for those who work on Mondays), with freeplay/casuals available until 12 PM ( for those who don't)

2/ The Games

- BlazBlue ChronoPhantasma (PS3)

- Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R (Xbox360)

- Persona 4 Arena/Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena (Xbox360)

- Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (Xbox360)

3/ The Rules

We pay a fix venue fee of 4€ per player, and around 1€ per ticket in commissions. (these fees are of course included in the prices)

Around 60% of the tournaments fees (we'll round it up, way up) will be redistributed as cash-prizes, various other prizes will also be given by our sponsors.

The "missing 40%" will pay for the various unavoidable expenditures related to this event.

DokuSaru is strictly non-profit: we're doing it for & with the community.

All our tournaments use double elimination brackets. You will have two “lives” to spare: use them wisely.

Our rules & regulations have been diehard tested in many tournaments and are readily available on our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/DokuSaruLiege, in French & English ), but they really are:

Simple rules for a simple tournament.

PS: Don't forget to watch our live stream on: http://www.twitch.tv/zoulcalibur

PPS: Don't hesitate to ask @DokuSaruLiege if you need help with your travel options, hotel or with the ticket shop.

I really don't get why you're hosting GG and P4U on 360, if BB is on PS3. People who might want to travel from abroad will find this inconvenient if they are planning to partecipate for BB and for another tournament, given that not everyone has a dual modded stick or a Qanba one. You either should have gone full PS3 or atleast make it PS3-only for all of the ArcSys titles. :\

Actually most players of the Euro FGC play the games on Xbox (and own Xbox sticks), so it really makes more sense to have most games on that platform.

BBCP is only available on PS3, so we will just provide sticks for the people that need them ^^.

Just bring whichever stick you own: we will make do ;).

In case of GG I doubt that, but whatever. Is there a schedule with timetable? I have to work that saturday and need 1,5h to arrive at the location by car. I would like to join GG and BB tourneys.

Aight.

I wouldn't mind flying to Brussels since the flight is pretty cheap (19 + 19 bucks) but I just noticed one "small" detail... the entry fee for each tournament is a bit too much expensive for me. Like, if I were to join GG singles only (no team tourneys, no other games), that would already be €20. If I wanted to do both GG and BB singles/team I'd have to pay €65 total. That's little overkill IMHO. :\

So now that's the second person telling you he'd prefer ps3, I already contacted you on facebook about it. Can you at least put this up for a poll/discussion? Because it's going to look really silly if 80% of the players are messing with xbox converters :p

OK, let's take the console question seriously reaVer.

1/EVO the NA "supermajor" is (was?) sponsored by SONY, WGC the Euro one was sponsored by Microsoft (and IVGC will most likely be too), so most tournament in these regions are also run on these consoles, they've been for years... (people bought consoles & controllers to compete on them)

2/ Since a few years Namco Bandai & Arc System Works chose to focus on the SONY systems because the 360 didn't sell that well in Japan.

It's just a huge hindrance to the international success of some games because NOT everybody owns both systems... (IE Bad Business)

As a result of these two points most players bought the machine their friends had, to play the games they wanted to play.

Let's take a breather here ^^.

- Now you must have read the old TK argument before: most Tekken players play on PS3, because there are more players Online & because the tourneys are played on that platform (worldwide from South Africa to Russia, from Iran to Trinidad & Tobago). "If you like fighting games you play on PS3, Tekken is on PS3 & it is the most popular tournament fighting game in the World after all...".

Except this argument really doesn't work if you don't play TK (or aren't a hardcore J-gamer...) and it REALLY doesn't for the European FGC as a whole...

- Because there are WAY MORE people with 360 sticks than there are people with PS3 sticks & that's just a fact. (yep ^^; )

- Also most EU organizers own/have easier access to Xboxes & we ALL rely on what games we can get. (You wouldn't buy 8 copies of a game for a new system if you already had everything sorted for another, would you?)

Now if you want to talk converters I'll be around ;)

Everything you just said negated by the fact that:

-Most european FGC players don't play GG

-The potential player base is more likely to play BlazBlue rather than SF or any other game

-If I were to go to a GG major (like showdown) it would be held on the PS3

-To my knowledge, most players that play GG at tournaments/outside tournaments have bought the PS3 version (because it was released and upgraded first)

Now converters; I'm not going to buy one just for this event. So I'd like to borrow (a lagless) one at the event.

Hello, i have a question about the BBCP team registration, is needed that the two members of the team pay the entrance fee of 20 euros, or it's only needed to pay one time?¿

PD: If you don't understand the question tell me and i will try to do the question again. I'm still learning the language.
