Relius Troubles

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I've been looking into Relius and whilst doing his challenges I got stuck on a certain combo.

5B > 5C > 3C > 6D > Knife > etc.

I can't do the 6D > Knife part. They always recover before his Knife hits them. Is there any trick to this or am I just not doing the combo fast enough?

Thanks in advance

You mean 5B>3C>6D>41236B?

The solution there is to do 5B>3C>41236B then while holding the 6 from the 41236 motion press D shortly after.

To be honest "5B>3C>jump+6D>falling j.B>2C>6C>41236B>665B>5C(2 hits)>superjump>j.B>j.C>j.236C~j.214B>airdash" leads to more damage carry ETC while being easier to do and easier convert into from pressure.

Feel free to ask any questions you want anywhere in the Relius form, we've not much to do right now.

thanks for the reply,

You're suggestion worked wonders :D. I really appreciate it. Relius was too cool of a character for me to ignore, I'm glad I looked into him ~

I'll be sure to ask more questions to keep you guys busy ;3

I'd rather not keep making a new thread for my questions so I guess I'll keep em here :).

One more question for now though, with Relius when I'm under pressure is there any tools at my disposal that can help, or am I just going to have to rely on the games mechanics; barrier blocking , Counter assault etc.

Relius defense: block, IB, mash, CA, and if you're feeling lucky vinum. Occasionally you can get away with wakeup duo bios, which locks them down long enough for you to cross them up and get momentum into your favor.

Don't treat led ley like a legit defense option. Its more of a gimmick or a hard call-out move, since it lasts longer than most moves you'd make wiff with it. Sometimes people will use a move that's typically gapless and safe to use as a blocmstring ender cuz of pushback/blockstun, but if you IB>ley you can possibly punish this. Things like Ragna xx>2D, Noel drive enders, etc.

Pretty much. For Relius the best defense is constant offense, keep em' blocking and getting hit.

2C is a choice anti air, 5A picks up things that are too quick for it, and 4D hits things out of its range. Led ley can counter normals with high recovery like DPs or any of Tager and Kagura's.

Aside from that CA and blocking well is your best bet.

Be sure to check out the combo thread for my Ignis saving and solo combos, they'll let you maintain the offensive for longer.
