Ps4 arcade stick

Recommended Posts

I've tested the HRAP4 and a few other PS4 sticks using GGXrd, and the results are not that bad for any PS4 stick out there (5 ms delay at worst, or about 1/3 of a frame).  Keep in mind this is the incremental extra input delay caused by a stick (scored vs the best alternative), not the total delay of the entire setup (console+TV+stick+game).

I see the Hori RAP4 Premium VLX Kuro come in at +14.80 ms. Is that terrible?

Was considering purchasing one, but at that price I don't want to regret it...

I doubt you would notice it, before that list no one was complaining about any sort of lag, top players still use all those 'laggy' Hori sticks and the super laggy 21ms sticks like the old PS3 Daigo Fightstick Pro and only time you would pretty much see a difference is when you and some one with a faster stick on that list would exchange the same attack at the exact same moment he would win most of the time.

It really depends on what you're used to. When I went from 0 ms to 21 ms Fightstick Pro, I was unable to hit Millia throw combos in +R. If I was on 21 ms all along it might have been OK, but that is a lot of extra lag to be playing with.

It also matters for reacting to overheads and other borderline reactable things (run up throw, airthrow positioning, bandit revolver punishes, etc). Less time to react lowers your success rate on things that were tough but reactable before.

I've buy this stick http://i2.wp.com/shoryuken.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/GUILTY_GEAR_Xrd_-SIGN-_Arcade_Stick_622x320.jpg?fit=622%2C1000 which work pretty well on my PS4.

I'm not an expert and it's brand new (I have it for less than 3 days when I am writing this message) but after my madcatz fighstick pro this arcade stick is damn cool !

The feel is here and there is a lot of cool feature like swapping "R3" with "option", the colour bar, you can even easily change the artwork (the stick is sell with 3 artwork)

Seriously I don't know about Hayabusa lever (which can be good) but this stick really good

What parts is this stick made from? I can't find any information online (in English).

Also @Teyah, what stick did you use to test the PS360+?

All of them - the PS360+ is tested against every other stick as it's the baseline measurement of my PS4 tests.

Did someone try the PS360+ PCB? It says on their website that it takes ~2s to reconnect on the PS4 after the 8 minutes timeout, which is a very long time in a fighting game.

Any feedback about this?

The PCB can be used for 8 minutes before you need to use the soft reset (Share/Select + 3K).  It takes a couple seconds, then you can press Home again and it'll autoreconnect (if it's the only controller) or bring you to the profile select screen (multiple controllers).  I think it bypasses the profile select screen if the other player is signed in as a guest, but don't quote me on that.

The reconnect time is shorter than the loading screens for rematching in just about any game, so I reconnect it after every match.  If you forget, 8 minutes is long enough to play a tournament set in most games and most circumstances.

My PS360+ is a couple minor versions out of date, but I don't see anything about an automatic reconnect in the patch notes.

My bad.

Looks painful to use.

It's not ideal, but as a hitbox user I don't have a whole lot of choices, and it lets me build custom sticks that are cheaper than madcatz sticks with stock parts.  To be honest, the disconnect is a little annoying but it's functionally a nonissue because you can just cover your reconnections behind loading screens anyway.  When you had to manually reconnect the stick, that was much more of a concern for me.
