Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel

Recommended Posts

Well there's this story mode pic I guess (where Ruily is trying to explain to Saya why she shouldn't eat her)?

Also there's this blog too but I'm not sure if it will be actually useful.

...Huh. Well, I suppose that makes sense as a collab with Marvelous, but I can't help but feel that her design could've been used for another, more relevant fiery swordman. I find it weird that we had no leaks about it, so could it be a fake?

In any case, I hope it doesn't hurt the chances of Senran Kagura getting its own fighting game.

There were a leak about it from Hokanko. That blog is slower than the rest about leaks, but is often more detailed and has some details that the rest misses/skips. It's probably true, but I don't have famitsu in order to check it.

Now it's even less of a Nitro+ game and even more of a "let's throw in all the popular waifus we can get the rights for" fighter. I mean, Sonico as BOTH a playable fighter and an assist is REALLY pushing it.

Expecting someone from KanColle next. Or Aldnoah Zero, since at least Urobuchi worked on that.

Yeah, no, Kancolle has nothing to do with this. I second the sentiment, but there's no reason to exaggerate yet.

Gah and I wanted to main Saya why do they have to put in Homura. Another dual-main situation has befallen me.

Yo. Should I have seen this coming? Probably not. But this is pretty cool; console version's not even out in Japan and already we have talk of a localisation.

Xseed handles all the Senran Kagura game so with this new reveal it actually makes sense.

Xseed is owned by Marvelous, it making sense them being the localisers should never be in doubt. What would've been in doubt is this game even coming to the West, but I suppose crazier things have happened.

It has lately for other titles being localized lately for collaboration works [i.E. PxZ2, J-Stars+, & DBFC]. And we thought back in the day, it would have a licensing nightmare, times have sure changed.

Groan, I wish they'd just announce the damn game instead of making these "cute" rebus riddles for toddlers in MS Paint. I bet Wyrdwad thought this up all by hisself.

Any localizer who picks this up is taking a big PR risk, since unlike with Aquapazza, the connection to adult games is inescapable: the Saya and Hanachirasu VNs have actually been released in the US, sans any censorship. Woe be unto any small company who invites the ire of the SJW hivemind.

Predicting lots of exasperated hand-wringing and needlessly overwrought apologetics from Wyrdwad in various forum and comment threads, just like every time XSeed releases a game with boobs or blood. And even more when he has to break the news that it's digital-only.

I don't really think the adult games link is an issue. Everyone loves to point out that Utawarerumono and ToHeart are originally games with adult scenes in them. From what I can gather, people seem to like NitroPlus games for their writing and less so for their adult content, it's just Aquaplus games are more well known than NitroPlus games. Now, if this was a LILITH SOFT fighting game, I think that would carry more weight in that argument, but I really don't see a problem with the NP games.

It seems like partnering with Marvelous has really sped up their cycle time on this one. I really wasn't expecting NPB on console for at least a year (thinking Summer 2016), so having it be announced for console so soon after release is promising! Just keep in mind it may get pushed back like Aquapazza console and AH3LM before it (COMING THIS WINTER!!! -> COMING THIS SPRING!!!).

I'm just hoping the console release isn't as jagged as recently released games (AP, AH3LM, DFC). Even Takaki's own Senran Kagura Estival Versus had a rocky launch due to some content and online issues, so we'll see.

And don't forget how both Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night started as porn games, yet no one seems to mind when the related games are released.

Great.....my wallet is crying because of XSeed:

- IA/VT Colorful

- Nitro+ Blasterz

- EDF (Earth Defense Force) 2 & 4

- Senran Kagura: Estival Versus (own the JP version but want the EN version also)

- Onechanbara Chaos

- Trials of Cold Steel

- Corpse Party

Damnit.....this is killing me.

Still need Ethica gameplay :kitty:

But yeah, very excited that this got localized so quickly.  XSEED has been doing mad work lately.

Doesn't matter what the fans think. The fact is that uncensored adult Nitro+ VNs have been given official releases outside Japan, including one with an arguable loli character. There is nothing Marvelous/XSeed can do to cover up or gloss over Blasterz's direct connection to these specific VNs in America, to prevent some sensationalist clickbait blog like Kotaku or a few oversensitive ninnies on NeoGAF from creating a PR circus around it.

Wyrdwad is already known for being a huge blabbermouth who can never resist throwing fuel onto the fire whenever XSeed gets involved in anything remotely controversial. Whether they actually consider him their "community manager" or not, he's a serious liability to the company, and I'm sure they would have fired him long ago if he wasn't also a competent translator and huge Falcom fanboy.

And don't forget how both Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night started as porn games, yet no one seems to mind when the related games are released.

But those VNs haven't been officially released in English at all, which means the mainstream gaming press is much less likely to pick up on their adult origins. The lone Japan-only hentai game the Western press was ever aware of is Rapelay, and it was only singled out because its English title stuck out like a sore thumb on game database search engines.

What you're saying is that people can't be bothered to do their research on one of the most popular anime franchises out there, yet somehow they all know about the dirty underbelly of a game studio that never really became mainstream even after all their anime projects? By that point, I have to wonder why I even need to care about the opinion of such people. It's not like the game was going to be popular even without its hentai past.

Without derailing this too much, I'm just gonna say long story short I don't REALLY think that's gonna be a problem with this game. lol

Despite this translator voicing his opinion openly, other games that feature very charged sexual content (Senran Kagura) have come over to the states, had their controversy, but despite that, sold well enough to warrant continued and immediate localization (Senran Kagura Estival Versus came out in March and is already slated to be brought over to the states before the end of 2015). Above all of that, a lot of anime fans know Saya no Uta at the very least and like that and other Nitro Plus franchises, so I don't think it's really gonna matter to them.

I hear your concern for the potential playerbase of the game when it comes out, but I don't think it's really gonna be an issue...
