Nothing terribly specific, but the wording he used seemed to imply that they're still a while from finishing her.

Is it possible to link the article?

The talk about Dizzy is right after the Haehyun portrait.

The relevant quote is him saying that they're still trying to balance her old appeal with her new adjustments, specifically using the word 最中, which would indicate that they're still doing a lot of work on her (in fact, translating it directly could probably be better described as them being almost past the halfway point of her development).

VERY strange that they would advertise her and not have her ready after this many months. We'll just have wait and see since they're not communicating with the customers.

Not really. If they made her after the poll happened it doesn't give a lot of time to work on her, work on the original game, work on her story mode, plus make sure that she isn't 100% broken, i.e. FRC fish. That's a lot of time and work.  I'm not even counting anything else they might have in store either from the poll results

such as more DLC characters from those results or the storyline characters being playable.

Aksys isn't Capcom or the other big companies.

:v: And who's talking about Aksys? We are talking about Arcsystem Works :v:

If ASW decides to add more DLC chars to this game, I will gladly pay for all of it

But why advertise her if she's not ready? Why put her into a console trailer if she's not coming soon?

Not really. Think about this for a second, this is DIZZY we're talking about here. Between her, Necro, and Undine (three sprites total) + her various zoning tools, she is probably one doozy of a character to work on with the new "2.5D" graphics and game play mechanics. Normally, I'd be a little irked by the wait time as well, but not so much in this instance because Dizzy's a special case. It's best to just be patient.

i mean we're already getting so many new characters to play around with. i don't mind waiting as long as it means the end product is good (see SFV as an example of what happens when you rush out a product)

Why don't we just change the name to DIzzyLoop and kill all the character threads except for hers.  I mean the game just came out and has 5 new characters but people still want to bitch about a character they flat out said wouldn't be done in time for launch.

Well, since the game is out now, most AC+R Johnny/Jam mains got their character back, so they can be happy about it. People who were excited about Kum/Raven/Jack-O' can finally play them just as well.

Perhaps we're "bitching" about Dizzy because there are players like me, that used to main Dizzy in AC+R, plus they love the character (Just like me) and yet, even though more than 5 months have passed since the poll they haven't said a damned thing about her? Meanwhile, all the other characters had gameplay videos and information about them all over the internet. It's not about the fact that she isn't out yet, it's more about the fact that we don't know a thing about her (Art and gameplaywise).

Raise expectations, hype, etc.? Maybe?

We already knew she was coming. When they showed Raven and Kum a couple of months ago, people asked; "what happened to Dizzy". At that time they could've just said "she's still in development. We'll bring new info when available." Instead they slapped a shadow image of her into the Japanese magazines and the console trailer. Capcom announced the DLC characters were coming and gave details on when. They've also never shown a character until right around release. It just seems strange to draw attention around her at this time is she's not ready.

Aksys confirmed at Momocon, no English dub for Revelator.

That's soooo inconsistent. It would've been fine if sign was the same, but they had English voices. Things like that can seriously hurt sales. English is the most common language. Who wants to be reading through all of that story? It's not like the past with just an arcade mode. They've created a full story. First, only Japan got to vote on who was going to be in the game, now they're the only ones who get to sit back and watch the story. The rest of us are getting an animated comic book. The Japanese bias continues...

I do. I'm glad they gave the option to watch the story as a visual novel in GGXrd Sign, and not just as a movie.

That's perfectly fine. The thing is that they've created systems to draw in new gamers. You really think the typical American/some Europeans aren't going to be confused/upset picking this up from word-of-mouth then finding out it's all in Japanese (especially when the original was in English)? Review score points will also be deducted for such a thing. They're already asking for $60 for this update, charging money for three-minute color palettes, Japanese system voices and $8.00 per character (which I'm pretty sure doesn't include not even close to all of that character's colors), but in 2016 selling a game to the largest gaming market with a closed-minded strategy. Maybe they shouldn't be working on twenty fighting games at the same time and then they could do things correctly.

would you rather they be capcom and have complete radio silence until the last 3 to 5 days before they pass their self scheduled deadline

It could be that so few people use the dub that it's financially wasteful. I've never even seen it be used for longer than one game before everyone's like "okay lets switch it to japanese."

Who do you think is doing things "correctly?"

Game design concerns aside, Capcom charged 60 dollars for a cast full of incomplete characters, zero single player content worth speaking of, unstable netcode, 8 frames of lag and missing basic features (ignoring the slew of missing PC options, lmao that only player can pick if you retry or go to character select, and that lobbies don't show country flags) and they haven't even acknowledged a lot of it is a problem. They charged money for a season pass that at this rate could possibly end up being free content. They are completely silent for entire months instead of doing anything to keep interest alive.

WB released a busted, unplayable PC port and quickly dropped it.

Those are the only three major FG releases in recent memory, Revelator is the only one being release in a technically complete and competent state, and they arcsys have a history of quickly responding to and patching up Xrds technical issues.

The playerbase is also very, very used to subs, and most people in the first place don't mind subs to the point that they'll think of it as "ugh now i can't watch the story"

True on Capcom's incompetence. Still, at least they said they have something to talk about on Sunday. I was really looking forward to hearing Jack-O/Raven/Kum say their specials move names in English along with all of the little clever details you expect from Arc's games. Now there will be no game-gamer connection. They have zero problem doing this for Blazblue. We already have this massive stigma around "air-dashers". Now we have a 100% anime game. Blazeblue with it's anime antics gets dubbed, but the game that's going to be at EVO is going have voices that are waaay over-board, high-pitched and sound like Asian women screaming for their life during a porn scene. Get your favorite body-pillows ready people. We're hitting EVO in style!

Well, Central Fiction is now on the menu for this winter. It may develop the same "problem" for all we know...

Long time fans of the older GGs are probably "used to it", but it does kind of suck for people who don't speak Japanese, as anything said mid-match by the characters won't have subtitles.

When AC+ came out, she was my main. When word got out she was being made, my friend was like now I have to deal with rRC/pRC Ice spikes and yRC Fish, bubbles and homing Spears.
