It seems that ASW is developing a Dragon Ball game in 2D for 3DS.

How many years has it been since the last DBZ game that ASW worked on, Supersonic Warriors, was released? 10 years?

My interest has been piqued.  DBZ fighters are a dime a dozen these days and the 3DS isn't exactly a great system for the genre, but with Arc System Works developing the game, I feel obligated to at least give it a chance.  The spite art shown so far looks incredible.

Shame that such excellent sprite art is being wasted on both a DBZ game and a handheld-exclusive game.

 

Side note; I'm in disbelief at this point that the Naruto Storm series is still going. It'll probably persist with annual releases even after the manga and anime finally end - that never stopped Dragonball tie-ins like this one, after all.

Official site is up.  Not much content as of yet, but we at least get a better look at the character sprites and some new screencaps.  Looks like some more obscure characters such as Capt. Ginyu and Nappa will be playable.
