[CF] Yuuki Terumi Speculation Thread

Discuss anything that is new to Terumi here!

 

So far, we know that he has a new overhead. Will he get the mix-up game he finally deserves?

 

LOKETEST 1 CHANGES:

 

- 5D's tip is back? Though hitting them at the tip doesn't lead to Jagaku.
- Jagaku's slam does not occur if you hit them while they're crouching?
- 6C is less negative on block.
- B Burensen is changed; cannot be followed up? More info needed.
- The new special is the overhead from the trailer; can probably be only canceled with RC or into DDs.
- B Burensen's wall-bounce seems to have been given to Hazama.
- Garengeki is impossible to follow up in the corner?
- It's impossible to escape from Terumi's pressure. If the opponent Barriers, you can reset the pressure with 6B or a jump, and it might be possible to mash jabs to discourage them from jumping away.
- Jagaku can no longer connect into DDs.
- Third level of Garengeki blows the opponent really far away, so it's going to take a while to figure out what to do with it.
- Seems like you can cancel into Exceed Accel from anything.
- It seems like you can cancel B Burensen during the stomp.
- Jagaku's recovery has been increased.
- 2D is faster now.
- New move, 4D; he kicks up some sand, hits low. Since 2D is faster now, you can keep the pressure going by using it after a blocked 4D.
- 6C's last hit wall-bounces and can be followed up easily.
- 6D now deals about 4 hits?

New overhead looks decently fast, has meter gain property, knocks down, might offer oki on raw hit.

Cons seem to be the short range, might only be special and/or super cancellable. Not sure how to feel about this move yet.

After looking back at the trailer again, Terumi seems to have a new distortion (big shock) that raises up snake ghosts from a crest. It's on 2:13, and it's "blink and it's gone" noticeable. 

 

There is an important question though. While using the distortion, Terumi has 64 Meter, and unless Terumi gains a new ability to use Distortions half the cost in OD, it should normally be 50 meter at max. Interesting...

Well, seems that Yuuki Terumi also got a new Distortion Drive (you have to stop it right after Rachels Tempest Dahlia).

It looks like that he summons a smaller version of his portal which he uses in his Astral Heat.

Edit: Yeah, I know it was posted already in the main thread, but I think it is not bad if all the information is collected here.

Other people pointed out new distortions for the other characters as well. To me they look like a sort of OD-ender, mini-supers used to finish an early OD combo. Every character shown with a new OD distortion already has an expired OD. Most cases, both characters have about 15-20% health missing with left-over amounts of heat usually between 10-25. Terumi's the only one shown with more than 50 meter during his new distortion, so I think it's a pretty good indicator that they only cost 25 heat.

 

Can only see the first three hits of the OD move in trailer, didn't see any meter draining like OD Fuenjin.

By the way, since we are getting the new game, is there someone who wants to become a new moderator?

Seems that you are right. Those supers are OD-Enders, as seen with Ragna, and they seem to cost no meter as well (not confirmed). These seem to be squeezing every single damage they could get.

I'm not sure if Guymam is still active, but if not, I could try helping around the forums. BBCF Mix-Up 2K16 Terumi has got me already hyped for this game, so I'll be around.

Sorry for the double post but I just watched the trailer in slow mo. Terumi's overhead is a headbutt.

 

Ask for an overhead, Aksys literally gives us an overhead.

Watching videos for four games and timestamps for three characters consumes a lot of time. Being a mod consumes a lot of time (I think, I'm not sure) so that puts a lot of stress on me.

Not sure I'd be the best fit for a moderator as well. If you need some threads organized or what not time-to-time, sure I can do that. But my time and interests tend to jump between games, so it's not a long-term dedication I can make.

Oh, you do exist.

 

Looking back at the overhead, does anyone else think it looks fast as hell? Putin said on the video thread it'll be close to 25 (24 seems to be the standard for standing overheads in this game) but it feels faster. I'm not much of an expert at overhead speeds (I get hit by them way too often to act like I know what's a good overhead and what's not) but it looks hard to react to.

I think it's deceptively fast because of the animation. Half of it is that windup that has so little animation, then the other half is suddenly snake-powered forehead murder. Kind of similar to Hazama's 6A and 6B.
