Feel free to analyse videos of low or high levelled players and talk about what you feel is notable, like what the Rachel may have done right or wrong, what did you learn from watching the video in question. Break it down and describe your thoughts.

- The purpose of the above is to learn how we take information from these videos and implement our shared findings into our own game through discussion. Here is an example to give you an idea of Video Analysis: InsterLinkHere (Need CF Videos)

- When Posting Video Links please be sure to mention player names as well as the characters they play, the date of the video and for the link itself, the point where the match starts:

Guys... guys. Rachel regens wind crazy fast during Tempest Dahlia... Like OD levels fast

Look at about 1:10, she does it in the air too!

All of these little changes feel like they're adding up and are giving me a lot of hope. We lost pumpkin, yes, but it feels like we will never be too short on wind now, which honestly is my main gripe with CPEX Rachel. Once we learn how to properly use the new lotus, I feel she has the potential to be competitive.

Now Ivy Blossom is still kinda ass, but as we saw in the new combo video, it basically allows her to get CPEX levels of damage in the corner, which is not too shabby.

Omg you're right! Wow, talk about giving us a reason to spam it in Neutral lol.

it would appear that even though her wind gain is nerfed compared to ex, there are a number of changes that make wind the primary focus of cf and not any of her minions. This is great because Rachel has alway been fundamentally dependant on wind, and running out of wind could cost her the round commonly.

my only concern besides the obvious assness that is Ivy, is her corner game. I'm sure lotus will be able to bait dps just like pumpkin, but overall, Rachel has a lot less time to react to the foes defensive actions than she did before. This not only indirectly affects her wind regen, it affects her ability to make the right mixup choice while still baiting defensive options like counter assault, for what is likely the same or less oki potential. Also, her optimal corner combos look more strict or at least require more resources and being less ground oriented for good oki.

 

so while I don't think she will be anywhere near top tier in this game she probably will be ok. Probably mid tier as things develop, never know.

 

ps: Ivy seems like it can serve as a passive defensive option in neutral if she keeps the bats next to her. While being pressured, the bats will slowly (and pitifully...) eat at the foe's life.

Tried using ivy at neutral.... no one really cares about it. But if the damage is there for the taking... then why not? Lol.

Also never took notice of the extra regain on tempest dahlia, but i guess that would explain a lot. :v

This character is really good in this game though... imo mid tier would be like most the severe worst case scenario possible. :x 

And like kirbster mentioned, this really fixed the issue of being low in wind like in BBCP2. Which helps in her overall and in certain match ups like lambda / nu.

You fucking guy, I'm so jealous.

Something I'm still curious about is j.2c overhead combo damage. It's a short starter, but can you still get a decent combo?

I was thinking about it and if the damage isn't that much better, j.a is better as an IOH since you still get the fuzzy setup if they block it. Maybe just in the corner with lotus or a pole on top of them, which I saw you try on that Nine but she blocked lol.

In terms of combo scaling j.a> j2c. I actually couldn't figure out a good combo off j2c (even level 2), including the combo that works off ja. Not sure if George still slightly unscales your combo like in CP, but as of right now ja is better in most situations. J2c is windless instant overhead option but other than that not so good. That said, j2c -> 6a 4b no longer works. The best I could get off of it was jbc jbc lobelia 

apparently there are new combos that involve mid-combo ivy set? Sounds hella good, I'm gonna test some time after NEC because I'm worried it will mess up CPEX execution lol

I would like to talk about matchup analysis too if people make a thread for it. Then again, it would probably just be me talking about Azrael since that's literally the only character I have a problem with. :v

Lotus oki is good everywhere. Especially in the corner. You might get hit if you get greedy with your setups, or have an execution error. And that's about it.  He finally started using staggered lotus oki and OS'ing the DP's around 17:55.... that's kinda the way it should be done (except that you can produce that same setup without a pre-existing lobelia), though he didn't have to use wind at all.
