Susanoo Combo thread

This is the official Susanoo combo thread concerning legitimate combos found in videos and lab tested.

due to the nature of the Susanoo play style and restrictions i request a combo be placed under the format of

 

Prerequisites of the combo: Tx-lvl x for example (T1 = icon 1 lvl x= the required level before the combo can take place)

(notation)

then N+X (N= the number the icon is on mid match and + X = how many times the icon key moves before being unlocked)

If an icon moves more than 8 times in a combo (say 11 times) the icon it will land on at the end of the combo will start from a neutral notation (instead of saying N+11 youd say N+3)

 

for example at neutral with no requisites: 5B-5C-2C(2)-5D(N+4 meaning spin unlocks)-6D-214B-2C(2)-jc-JB-JC(1)-jc-JB-JC(2)-JD (N+8/N8 meaning sword unlocks)

For another example of a prerequisite: T1-lvl3/T8 in corner: 5B-5C-2C(1)-3C-236D-3C-236D-3C-214A-3C-4D/damage/heat/unlocks N3

This combo only works from round start as is.  Its only guaranteed unlock is 236D/the 8th seal.  It requires 214B in what would be almost 99% of the cases due to no control over where the seal starts aside from round start.  A better notation would be something indicating the first seal unlocked - in this case the 4th seal from where you begin - and a guaranteed unlock of the 8th seal/236D.  

A similar combo people are floating around is a 3 seal unlock that "guarantees" the first 4 seals unlocked, yet only works from round start when no seals are highlighted.  It's notation is 5B > 5C > 2C(2) > 5D > 6D > 214B > 5B > 5D > 6D > 3C(2) > 4D.  Yes, if you reset training room, it will unlock the 2, 3 and 4 seal, but the combo will not work any other time in the match unless 214B is already unlocked or you know how to shorten it to unlock 214B at the first 5D.  For example, say you did J.C(2) and both are blocked at round start, but connected 2B after landing, youd be on the 3rd seal and could go to 5C > 5D > 6D...etc to continue the full 4 seal unlock combo.  But if you do a full block string, the seal highlight will be in the wrong position and you won't be able to connect 214B from the combo.   You can see this in practice by using either combo in training room from reset and just jabbing 2 or 3 times on the dummy, then doing the combo.  You won't go anywhere with either combo past 6D.   

My proposed notation is as follows:

5B > 5C > 2C(2) > 5D > 6D > 214B > 2C(2) > jc > J.BC(1) > jc > J.BC(2)D - 3445 Damage / 24 Heat, Unlocks: N+4 Seal, 236D, Requires: 214B where N is the highlighted seal start location.  

Still not very elegant, but much more accurate than a blanket unlock statement that only works in one situation.  Just my suggestion though.  

Also, do you have active flow on or did you do other hits somewhere?  I do not get 3.7k dmg or 27 heat doing this combo.  

Edit - Another simple example is 2A > 2B > 5B > 5C > 2C(2) > 3C(2) > 4D - from round start, it unlocks 236D, but at all other times functions as an N+8 Seal unlock (ie - it unlocks whatever was highlighted when you start the combo, so if grand viper 236B was highlighted, you will unlock it when it finishes).

im seeing the notations in the combo video as T1-Lvl x as a prerequisite to a combo with skills already unlocked, maybe i could merge Kirbys advise with this guys primary notation to get a more function combo section without all the heavy clutter.

Random stuff and Im in a rush but

- With NO SPECIALS but 25 meter, you can: 2B > 5B > 2C(2) > 5D > 2D > CT> 6B > 6C > 6D > 236B > aerial ender (3600~ damage, unlocks 214B lv 2, 236B, assuming it starts from nothing highlighted)
His crush trigger in general is really good, you can basically do 5D -> 2D mid combo string into CT and go into 6B stuff. NOTE that this doesnt seem to work on Naoto, Izanami, Izaoi, Platinum, or Amane. Credit to @Kinkuli on twitter for this

ADDENDUM: Thinking that on those characters it doesn't work on, you can go CT -> 2C- >~~ instead, have to test it. The 2C definitely links after CT but I just went for aerial ender

starting with no unlocks and no node selected, nets u T-2, T-3, and T-8 all in one go. timing is tight tho. credit to @The_MyKey on twitter. u gotta be like RIGHT on them tho and some chars are too short.

Been playing around with normal hit 5A starter.


There's going to be a load of other paths, but it's worth noting that 5A doesn't ever seem to allow 5D>6D.

first combo: [T1L3] 5A 2C 5C 5D 236A 5A 5B 5D 214B 5B 2C j.B j.C j.D
second combo: [T5] 5A 2C 5C 5D 2D 236B j.B (j.C) dj j.B j.C 214B

It appears Susans combos all have a strict law concerning how they play out. This makes a number of thing sans 5B into 6Bs rules very apparent and easy to follow.

 

His best combos also appear to be 3C looping with sword being the height adjustment weight to start the loops more consisntently then using other lifting techniques to avoid heavy smp penalities.

 

So with counting and hit number awareness being a thing with his restrictive play style its great he has an easy to understand rule set

Found this (so-far) optimal corner route. Requires 214A Lv3 and not 236A is the major difference.

Can someone explain to me what the difference between those two combos is? They are both listed above, yet I obviously fail to see why this is listed twice.
