bizarro Report post Posted April 16, 2008 When/if I'm active in playing GG, Dizzy all the way. I think the reason she sticks to me for so long without getting boring is that she has near-endless options for okizeme and other setups. Last year when I was active I was coming up with around 5 new setups every week, most of which were very viable. Only reason dizzy would be dead for me is if I'm not active in GG because of other priorities in life
Double Report post Posted April 16, 2008 *shrug* it happens your guide is still the best though, bizarro
Stag.S Report post Posted April 17, 2008 I think it's one of the best laid out textual guides, but it's more useful if you already have some knowledge of the game and have real people to try out the pressure strings on and the oki games. As well as local Dizzy players to watch and see these methods in action. Some of the combos or oki setups would be clearer if there were videos, but it's still an amazing guide. For me, I was getting a bit bored of Dizzy and was experimenting with Zappa and May for a bit, but after one of the tourneys I went to and seeing good Dizzy players in action just reignited my love for Dizzy. Especially seeing Nagai's crossover fish into Gamma Ray in a damn close matchup against our local PO player.
bizarro Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Yeah, seriously, if I was able to get a cap device or something, just do out all the setups I list from the guide and have embedded vids / links to youtube showing it being done, it would make it a lot easier for people to understand. But don't know if I'm investing in that Anyway I think Nehle is doing a dizzy video tutorial anyway so if that comes out it should help a lot.
nagai Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Especially seeing Nagai's crossover fish into Gamma Ray in a damn close matchup against our local PO player. lol that is exactly what you should not do!! (we both had just pixels of life, I had full tension, he didn't) But if that reignites your passion for DI, then I'm content. :D As long as I'm here, DI will be alive in Canada. excelence Report post Posted April 23, 2008 i just realized ... that's "Gamma Ray" for god sakes that u use on cross up, how the heck it can be connect? XD
nagai Report post Posted April 23, 2008 haha good question... IIRC it wasn't a cross-up Gamma Ray. DI vs PO We're both pixels of health, final round, loser's bracket in double elim. I'm in the air, he uses his bit of tension for HEAVENNNLYYY. I gold burst, hits him. I get a KD from my burst, fall down, summon HS, and Gamma Ray (for the freeze frame unblockable, or whatever-- kept him in guard at the very least). As I'm writing this, I'm beginning to wonder if PO had time to get up and jump or flick. Nonetheless, it was an epic battle. So epic that we EMBRACED. DI is still alive. excelence Report post Posted April 23, 2008 ow yeah, that's hapen once for me, but i'm playing safe and just throwing double imperial Ray and rush him dead lol ps : nah i lied, gamma ray input is to hard for me in tight situation XD

(we both had just pixels of life, I had full tension, he didn't) But if that reignites your passion for DI, then I'm content. :D As long as I'm here, DI will be alive in Canada. Freeze-frame unblockable is just as good, I've already got 4 people on my gamma ray list (2 of them were finishers) just for the hell of it. Most of them were during HS fish, une of them was the PO player because he was trying to flick it back at me though I've lost count of the times he's flicked back imperial ray to my face, or even ice spike before when I was not as good as currently
excelence Report post Posted April 24, 2008 Pot can flick Ice Spike !!?(O_O)...
Stag.S Report post Posted April 24, 2008 Oh yeah, I learned that the hard way. He can also flick fish BITES, though it's risky cause the timing is so strict on it.
excelence Report post Posted April 24, 2008 !!!(O_O) flick a bite?? ... must keep it a secret from my local pot player
Nehle Report post Posted April 24, 2008 I'm pretty sure he can't, how did you discover it? I thought he could some time ago, but it was only an illusion because he flicked something else at the same time as bite hit him.
Stag.S Report post Posted April 24, 2008 During K fish, don't remember if I sent out air-spear at him but I remember him flicking it and me going WTF as the counterhit wallbounced me into his fist. Edit: Fairly certain it was scythe that he flicked then, if fish bite is unflickable, but it's happened so many times that it looks so much like it @_@
Nehle Report post Posted April 24, 2008 Yea, that happened to me too in Slash, I had Pot in the corner and did 623S > K fish, and he flicks when the fish bites. Wave comes out, fish disappears but scythe doesn't (because it has two more hits), so it looks like he's flicking the fish.
Kurokun Report post Posted April 30, 2008 Dizzy is alive here in the 808. This past weekend there was a tournament event which GGXX:AC was a part of. I ended up winning the GGXX:AC tournament, which only had 6 players, sad yes but people actually played, compared to the last tournament which had 8 players and a DI player (not me) won that event. I ended up having 2 back-to-back battles against SL players in the semi and final, that alone made me wonder if I was gonna advance any farther. I spent most of my time evading to get summons out to do something. But I perservered through the matches; semi (2-0), final (3-2) and won it all. Because it was only 6 players, the pot had become a 'winner takes all' prize. 60 bucks was my reward for winning. I wanted my 'victory' to be against the other DI player here in the 808 but he didn't attend this time. But yeah, DI players be prevailing so far over here. I hope to continue to do well at future GGXX:AC tournaments here in the 808 with Dizzy. Long live Dizzy!
bizarro Report post Posted June 16, 2008 !CREDIT GOES TO HELLMONKEY FOR THE PICTURE IDEA! Helloo..... it seems pretty empty around these parts nowadays, we only see around 4 regulars. Stag.S Report post Posted October 21, 2008 Still going strong for me, I may play around with other characters but honestly there's no one I enjoy playing as much as Dizzy still. I can win more with other characters but I don't have fun >.>
Tech Romancer Report post Posted October 21, 2008 Still going strong for me, I may play around with other characters but honestly there's no one I enjoy playing as much as Dizzy still. I can win more with other characters but I don't have fun >.> Dunno why, but when I first picked up GGXX, I picked Dizzy as my main. Dunno why, just wanted to play as her. I didn't know or care that she was low tier or whatever. I'm the only one who plays as her, although there was this one scrub who tried to play her. I raped his ass and squashed that notion of his real quick. But, I get the feeling she's not a very popular character...as if we didn't know why.
excelence Report post Posted October 21, 2008 i don't think she's low tier as her pressure games is realy solid once it's started... speaking of popularity do u guys know any player that picking Bridget?
Tech Romancer Report post Posted October 21, 2008 i don't think she's low tier as her pressure games is realy solid once it's started... speaking of popularity do u guys know any player that picking Bridget? Well, the official tier thread lists her overall as D-rank, the lowest in the list and furthermore explained why. Its no surprise, as characters that were formally boss characters in video games usually become low-tier when they become playable. My friend Luna plays Bridget, but he has yet to learn advanced stuff with her.
excelence Report post Posted October 21, 2008 which tier list? the last one i know is this -> http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3217 ... anyway there's at least 3 Dizzy player including me on my crew but no Venom, i can say she is pretty popular here
Kurokun Report post Posted October 21, 2008 I'm the only one who plays as her, although there was this one scrub who tried to play her. I raped his ass and squashed that notion of his real quick. I have that part on 'lock' here in the 808, lol. Last time I checked a tier list, AC was/is at C-Tier.
