Axle_the_red Report post Posted August 10, 2010 @Wokker and KokuHime - here is the combo listing going for her so far...if I had to pick BnB's from that list it would be something like this: ・6A > 2D (LV3) > Delays > Dash > 5B > 6A > SJC > j.CC > j.CC j.623C~D (LV3) (Damage: Around 2900 - Heat Gain: 27) ・5B > 5CC > 6B > 5C > 214ACCCCC (Damage: 2948 - Heat Gain: 23) ・5B > 2B > 5CC > 6B > 5C > 5D (LV3) (Damage: 2423 - Heat Gain: 17) ・5B > 2B > 5CC > 214A~C~C mash (Damage: 2503 - Heat Gain: 20) ・6B > 5C > 5D (LV3) > 2D (LV3) > Delay > j.D (LV3) > Dash > 2B > 6A > jc > j.CC > j.CC > J.623C~D (LV3) (Damage: Around 3800 - Heat Gain: 35) ・2B > 5CC > 5D (LV3) > 2D (LV3) > j.D (LV3) > Dash > 2B > 5CC > sjc > j.C > j.B > jc > j.C > j.B > 623C~D (LV3) (Damage: 3393) ・3C > 2B > 6A > jc > j.CC > jc > j.CC > 623C~D (LV3) (Damage: 2875) ・2C > 2D (LV3) > 5D (LV3) > Dash > 2B > 6A > jc > j.C > j.B > djc > dj. She's really not that daunting to figure out. And the space cancel loop isn't as bad as you think. Just have to find the trick that works best for you. More of those in the space loop thread. :P

fogelstrom Report post Posted August 12, 2010 Good, then I dont need to learn the parry loop. Its really tricky to pull off. I only play against my friends. Sad cake. Only a few swedish players and when noting someone just sitting at home with no intention of ever wanting to take their play to the highest level and no intentions of entering any tournament. Makes me sad indeed. Also, what Axle_the_red said. She's easy to figure out after a few days/a week.

Ignore the 6C after j.D on the very first round of first video and vs the ragna on 2nd video, old habit from makoto day 1. Things i noticed myself: -terrible hitconfirm -too much j.2C and 3C -3C->2B on reflex even though i can do 3C->2C combos -too much autopilot and repeat same blockstrings (waaaaaaaaay too much) -too much fail at 6B on oki -miss out on a lot of free CH combos -too aggressive, specially vs lambda (read: get DP'd way too much and cant block right) help my free self un-free itself
Eshi Report post Posted November 9, 2010 Main thing I noticed is that you had two opportunities to RC punish Rachel bursting right after getting hit by drive. When anyone does this, you have a million years to reaction RC, so make sure you're paying attention. You initiated pressure with jC© a lot, a good mix-up is to throw in a 6B when you land for a double overhead. After using 2A>2B> blah blah so much, I guarantee that it would have caught them off guard. Just in general you need to use your overhead more outside of just the 5CC gatling. Also, air-block lambda. I checked out your profile through one of CSrolands vids Im mairusu1. Havent seen all of your vids yet just the first one. Im no expert but I can tell you're definately doing your homework. As you know many Maks we see on youtube stick to challenge mode combos lol Im sure you're aware of this stuff anyway... #Blocked 2C- u should think about asteroid visioning your ass outta there #5CC>6B>5C>5D(lv2)>rapid>2C <<<you didnt have to dash in for the 2C And like myself just nail that 2D>236a consistently Or you could also just do dash 5B>6A>aircombo if you're desperate to win the round lol If I hit 3C I go for 2C>214a~d>2D> fireball or 5B>6A into air combo #dont use roll so close up tbh you play just like me haha Im gonna upload some soon myself. And before you 214C into barrier block just make sure you have a gameplan when you land lol
Nini Heart Report post Posted November 16, 2010 5CC>6B>5C>5D(lv2)>rapid>2C <<<you didnt have to dash in for the 2C And like myself just nail that 2D>236a consistently I know that the dash isn't necessary but I wanted to go for the comet cannon>lightning arrow loops which i can't get in the corner, which is why i dashed. I can get it consistenly but my timing online is a bit off. And yeah,2D>236A consistency is a major issue here.
milesw Report post Posted November 16, 2010 I know that the dash isn't necessary but I wanted to go for the comet cannon>lightning arrow loops which i can't get in the corner, which is why i dashed. Im confused lol. I meant you dont have to dash in after the rapid to hit the 2C to go into the comet cannon combo loop. Is that what you meant? Or were you trying to rapid and dash in with a straight 236a without a 2C? Sorry dude lol:psyduck:
Nini Heart Report post Posted November 17, 2010 Nonono, i wasn't trying to dash in with a straight 236A. The point is, when your opponent is nearly in the corner, you can do 2D>66236AD>214C-D>214B-D. When far away from the corner, you can add another 66236AD before the 214B-D, which is why I was dashing to get them away from the corner so i could do that. Turns out that the second lightning arrow doesn't connect either way after the 5CC>6B-C>RC>662C>2D>66236AD>214CD>66236A. The opponent can tech at this point so yeah you're right, it's kinda pointless to do a dash before the 2C unless you want to corner them or smth.

OmniSScythe Report post Posted November 21, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT4vUVrM2T0 Tension Pulse BB finals - Eshi (MA) vs. Ivysaur (CA) First off congrats on taking second, Ivysaur has a fierce Carl. The things I notice is one you kept going for tight link combos like "jB+C > 2B > 6A > 2D" when you could had did the simple version or in some case ended with corner oki of any variant. You didn't seem to punish his roll which he kept doing when knocked down. You handed sandwich pressure really well, honestly I would had been caught mashing/ trying to parry at some point. Something on offense you should try is using 5A and 2A since they both work when he's blocking down and get in some overheads. When 6A is barrier blocked you can j.A and j.B to hold him place then go for another 6A if he likes using j.A/j.B or 6B/2B/Grab once he hit ground.
HiagoX Report post Posted November 22, 2010 Avoid using Comet Cannon when that close to the enemy (5:18 and 10:19). Maybe adding some Asteroid Vision to your mix-up wouldn't hurt either. I think Omni pretty much covered everything else. I'd like to point out the missed LV3 moves (like 11:08) but that might've been because you were nervous. I actually never bothered practicing follow-ups to an air throw near the corner, now I have a good reason to. I have trouble with roll techs. I don't know very good ways to punish them outside of the corner where the choice is obvious. Playing against Ivysaur so often has made me a lot better at blocking Carl's mix-up. Her DP is super unreliable because of his low hitbox normals, and Parry has failed me at really strange times so I use it carefully. For the 5A/2A into overhead thing, that was a player specific thing, I've played him often enough that he knows what's coming so I use it sparingly. JCing 6A is a good idea though... it sounds much easier to hit confirm on non-counterhit that way anyway. Avoid using Comet Cannon when that close to the enemy (5:18 and 10:19). Maybe adding some Asteroid Vision to your mix-up wouldn't hurt either. I think Omni pretty much covered everything else. Guess I need to grind more hot shots golf.

Wutai_Shinobi Report post Posted November 25, 2010 I posted a self-critique in the EST PSN Study Team thread a bit ago, but in the interest of improvement I thought I'd throw it here too and see what the Mak-Attack community may suggest ^_^ ~~ChfMojoRising :: Makoto Nanaya~~ I've taken a long hiatus from BB, went into SSF4 and came back. I should be in full BB swing by now, but I'm just not feeling it lol. I'm not using my lows as effectively as I use to. When I do hit with them, I have trouble dealing further damage. For some reason today, my BnB corner combo drops at the same spot every time leaving me vulnerable. B, CC, 6B, C, D, 2D, j.D, 66, 2B, (dropped or Magic Ball comes out for some reason) 6A~ etc. Never had that issue before and not sure what could be the cause of it. I also learned that when an opponent is right above me in the air, I typically don't know what to do. 6A randomly puts you too far forward to hit making you cross-under at a disadvantage. When it doesn't go too far it whiffs, or trades at disadvantage. 623C is obvious fail given it's angle. Only thing I can think to do is block, as my first instinct is always to anti-air. I noted an old behavior has come back. I try to bait out dp's and dd's by break-dashing. This was a over used tactic by me in Guilty Gear but the mechanics don't let it work in BlazBlue. I run forward and barrier guard, expecting my dash animation to be immediately cancelled in to the defensive position... but no. I also try to chicken block in a similar way, but the jump frames aren't cancelled into barrier guard either, making that act more of a gamble than I feel it should be. These are habits I simply need to break! I feel I'm not using 6C enough, but since I get hit out of it so often, I feel discourage in using it lol. I often try to use that magic ball as a defensive shield in pressure strings (to create a reset situation) but it's slow start-up doesn't lend it well to that unless you're fighting a timid player. With the upcoming patch making the startup even slower, I should probably abandon this tactic altogether. I finally started doing Throw>Super~ need to practice more ways to land the super and do higher damaging combos. ~~End of Self-Critique~~
Nini Heart Report post Posted November 25, 2010 I've taken a long hiatus from BB, went into SSF4 and came back. First mistake right there:( Well, i'm no expert but you could improve your BnB dramatically. 2B>6A(C for noel) = projectile happened to me a lot after air throw and noel's command grab. You have to let your joystick go back to neutral between 2B and 6X. If not, it will register a 236 motion instead of a 2>6 motion which you need. Anyways, you could make your BnB more efficient by adding in 66236A-D> 44> 5B>6A>JC>JB>JC>JB>623CD after your J.D. After that you can learn lightning arrow combos which take a longer time to master to improve your BnB. As for AA option, J.B and her dp and parry work pretty well imo. Parry especially so when they're just above you and you know they're gonna try hitting you.

Eshi Report post Posted November 28, 2010 you can get away with 3Cing alot against people that don't know the match-up or suck, but it's really not something you should just throw out because you're not close. Against Tager I won't 3C unless I predict a 5D or Spark Bolt. Any other time is a really bad idea (again, unless they're bad too). Also for the tager match-up, stop using 214ACC as an ender. Once you 6B him, always always always follow with 214ACA > [2|5]D as needed. It makes an enormous difference.
Wutai_Shinobi Report post Posted November 29, 2010 Is that 214 ACA > '2D or 5D' or '2D into 5D'? Is that Tager only? Never seen it before and sounds very interesting! ^^ ~Found out why I'm dropping that one corner combo all the time that I mentioned earlier. In training mode I start the combo with a 5B but in matches I start the combo with a 2/5A > B. This extra hit makes the combo techable at around the 11th hit. I fixed that by dropping the single 5C input in cases where I start with A. Works out with characters with strange hitboxes too (Carl, Noel, Rachel) as normally that C misses anyway and must be dropped hehe.
Eshi Report post Posted November 29, 2010 | = logical or. I meant 2D or 5D. Midscreen you should always do 2D, but near a corner you can use 5D instead.
