fire - are you coming from pad?

I would understand your question if that's the case.

Don't ever bind any shortcuts on a stick.

Exactly. I come from using the PS3 controller.

Shortcut = accidents can happen?

Yes, accidents.

And you won't be able to play on arcade ever.

The only extra button I bind is taunt.

So my layout is

A - B - C

D - Taunt - nothing.

Alright, Cool. I'll move the taunt just alittle bit to the right lol

BTW, the VLX has an 8 button layout but 2 can be disabled.

Is there a good systematic order for summoning bugs to keep the opponent locked down? Usually if they're jumping backwards, I backdash, spam all 4bugs then 44 teleport to mixup, but then I don't have anything to keep them on the ground with.

*sigh* I miss the old b bug.

Isn't the New B bug "jaws"? I can see B+D bugs as lockdown

Here's one for the corner:

Just replace astral with whatever > buffer and you should be able to lock it down and get over there.

When in doubt, use A bug, since it's the only one that can be spammed.

Also, don't forget about the fact that you don't have to teleport.

You can use bugs > bird/whatever > deceptive 3C. It works pretty well if you cover yourself properly.

Midscreen is always different, I guess. Just be smart about it.

I'm giving up on learning Carl after 4 weeks with him so, I'm going to try to learn Arakune. Who are some good JP Arakune players I can watch. There is Hima, Souji and who else?

If you look at Adakune's YT account, you'll get enough videos to watch. It updates pretty often, and they come from niconicodouga mostly as far as i can tell

Also, 5D used as a meaty on wakeup, or just go back and summon clouds/ do 2D in a distance / jump in? Trying to experiment and have a lot of ways to play Ara's wakeup game.

Souji is the only player worth watching.

Also go watch videos on this channel.

Highest level play was probably 2-3 months back.

Souji plays by the book, he carefully alternates between defense and offense, he's essentially best of both worlds, he doesn't have anything quirky and badass, but he has the best fundamentals.

Fumo is aggressive, uses a lot of gimmicks, a live fast and die hard kind of player. His defense isn't all too good though, his hit confirm with bugs are outstanding.

Hima plays very carefully precurse, but his curse game is on top of the other two, Hima invented the cross up j.c combo that turned into a staple of Arakune loop set ups.

Speaking of the Hima cross up, what the exact notation for the cross up plus bugs? j.c > ???

Any video examples of it?

Thanks guys.

In mix up, it would be 3a > 3a (4cd) > 6a bug > delay j.c > 4 cd bugs

Wow thanks. Super confusing though. I thought it involved j.c? or is all of that after the j.c cross up?

Blah, i gotta find a vid of it now cause I want to compare what I'm doing to whats actually supposed to be done.

Thanks skye!

I'm sure he made a typo and meant j.c instead of j.d.

Also Souji is the best Arakune, after all, he invented the wheel loop.

It is pretty cool going through the video thread and seeing these videos of Souji. He is an incredible Arakune.
