SBO 2011 Qualified Players

Recommended Posts

Go Akira... always nice to see low tiers qualify for SBO, sadly the amount of Makotos is a lil high at the moment hopefully this SBO will be more varied...

Still better than the number of Bang/Litchis last year.

i think it greatly helps that it isn't teams this year.

# of makoto players would probably be alot greater

and there were only 32 entrants this year, compared to last year's 64

so the # of Makoto is actually almost worst than litchi/bang (probably will be when everything is done)

added A-2, "Kantou kara juicedai harai ni kita" Bang. Is that some famous Bang player? He sure has a lot of blue tickets...

It's Dora, you can check it on the SBO topic on BBS.

Takahashi is R-1's PSR name.

The picture in the qualifier page is R-1's face as well.

So is it confirmed whether R-1 is a girl or not?

If you are looking for possibly female players, you should probably look here first.

and there were only 32 entrants this year, compared to last year's 64

so the # of Makoto is actually almost worst than litchi/bang (probably will be when everything is done)

uh what

last year, litchi and bang were both individually 24% of the players. 48% total.

this year:

5 makotos

23 total

5/23=21.7%

hell, 14/32=43.8%. and that's assuming ALL of the other spots go to makotos.

5/32, assuming no other makotos end up in, is 15.6%

of course this is also assuming that nobody besides makoto is in her tier in the manner that bang/litchi were in the same tier before (but really, who the fuck cares)

and this is also just fucking stupid because character population does not reflect strength in a direct proportion (Otherwise, lol look guys tager is better than rachel and mu!!!!) so who really cares outside of "i like diversity in the finals"

i think it greatly helps that it isn't teams this year.

# of makoto players would probably be alot greater

what

that is the opposite logic of the norm

generally it is accepted that teams is better due to forcing half of the players per unit to not be the same character as the other

you could have a 100% makoto 1v1, but not a 100% makoto 2v2

you could have a 100% litchi/bang 2v2 but nobody ever gives a shit about that in games where the top tier has more than 1 character

21.7% is mighty close to 24%

assuming 2 makoto more qualify

7/32 is still 21.8% which is still really close to the 24% of bang or litchi

i honestly don't see how that is wrong ?

unless 24% and 21% aren't very close to each other.

(there are also more characters in this game)

at least "CT's Math" aint in the talks XD

im still disappointed that this year only has 32 and 1v1 as their format =(

i wouldnt worry about the number of "top tier" chars , in the end the good players will almost always be on top4/8.

i was comparing s tier to s tier, not makoto to litchi or bang individually

the fact is that 25% of the cast being one character(and nobody else being more than 10%) doesn't

compare to 50% of the cast being two characters. the diversity is much, much better so far.

some guy was raging at me even though he proved my point correct with math....

i just don't understand sometimes.

if your point was "the tier whoring amount so far at SBO 2011 BBCS is less than the tier whoring last year" then yes, i proved "your point" right with math

you also didnt answer my question regarding teams vs singles

My point was that Makoto's dominance in CS2 is similiar to Bang and Litchi's in CS1.

i don't think anybody will argue againist you that half of SBO being either bang or litchi was stupid.

my comment about teams was because there were 32 teams last year (64 players) compared to the 32 single players this year. i was trying to imply that due to the number of entrants being much smaller, there is less of a chance for a character to have the same amount of dominance, especially in a game that has 3 more characters in it.

But, like you calculated, Makoto is still in there :eng101:
