[CSE] Hakumen Combo Thread

I personally find (#) [starter] lining up cleanly makes it much easier to sort through. Plus what brought it up was I was trying to figure out the best way to write these combos out in the videos, but youtube doesn't have formatting. Having stars required / stars regained made it a little harder to look at with no other formatting like bolds, and I feel it would be best for them to match the way it is written on the thread.

All right, I changed it to that format. Stars gained is at the end now.

Dunno what has been covered as far as corner reversals, but here are 4 I've found:

One thing to note is that in a lot of the standard Renka(1) Kishuu combos (such as the 2b one,) the combo had a j.B listed after j.B > j.A, 2c > j.B > j.2a, AD etc. This j.B really doesn't work well without the OTG 2c (I could not get it to work at all in most cases without an awkward reversal happening,) so I omitted it anywhere where it occurred.

I'll update the thread with your new stuff soon. So the j.B seems to not work in some of the Renka (1) > Kishuu combos. Does that mean it's because of proration and should be removed, or is it just because it requires tighter timing?

It's height specific.

You only need to do the j.B if the are too low for the j.C to hit normally.

It's still good for the tad bit of meter gain.

I never had a problem making j.B>j.2A work after that.

Outside of that diox is on the mark.

Oh and it helps on say random air hit confirms.

If you time the iad>jc low enough you can follow it up with gurren>5a>5b>etc btw. Just putting that out there, and good job guys with the combo thread.

I've tried it and the old

Throw -> Renka(1) -> Enma [reversal] -> back j.2a -> etc.

Doesn't work anymore. :'(

(1) Throw > Gurren, hop 5A > j.B > j.2A, IAD j.2A, j.C (2506 damage)

You can add a 5b after the hop 5a. You have to sj.2a in that case, though.

(4) Throw (midscreen) > Kishuu, hop Renka (1) > Kishuu, 2C > j.B > j.2A, AD j.B > j.A, 2C > j.2A, AD j.2A > j.C.

(4) Throw (near corner) > Kishuu, hop Renka (1) > Kishuu, 2C > j.B > j.2A > (corner) falling j.2C, 6A, 5C, 2C > j.B > j.2A, AD j.2A, j.C, 5C, 3C

Wouldn't it be better to simply do renka(1) right off the throw? You conserve meter. The offset is less carry, of course.

I also note a lack of hard-hitting combos. Going to have to rectify that!

Btw, is midscreen [whatever] -> renka(1) -> Kishuu -> 2c -> hotaru -> IAD etc. still relevant?

Also, [stuff] -> Enma -> j.2c -> 5c x2 -> etc. doesn't seem to work as well as I remember.

Similarly, what about 5c x2/2c links? Those seem to have gone out of favour as well.

Yeah I dunno about those throw combos, but Spark put them up so I added them in. They looked strange to me though.

It's helpful to have some variety, so it's fine. You never know when a combo might be super useful if you just dismiss them go at first glance.

I'm more surprised than anything that all of that works off a throw. Usually the proration off it makes throw combos not that long.

If you have more unorthodox combos like that which are useful, then keep them coming.

The normal throw combo does not work on Noel since the 5A whiffs. This is the best you can do on Noel: (1) Throw > Gurren > Hop 2A > 5A > J.B > J.2A > AD J.2A > J.C [2421/1.3] .

The back throw combo also needs to be modified for Noel and Rachel, namely that you need to delay the Gurren slightly. Doing so also makes it harder to get the 2C in, so you might want to switch it to a 5B or 5A .

I think just doing 5B should work without the 5A, it's just tighter. Does that work? I suppose I'll have to start adding exceptions for characters with small hitboxes.

5B might work, but I can't get the link to work for me ( I have bad execution though, so who knows ┐('~`;)┌ ). The main problem is that Noel ends up so low after the hop. On a side note though, the 2A > 5A version works on everyone, it's just tighter.

I actually haven't had too much problem with people having odd hitboxes besides this instance. Mainly it's just changing timings I've found. I will point it out whenever I find stuff though.

I'm playing around with CH Enma combos and trying to find a way to get more damage off of the CH without using any more meter. Is there anything currently known that is better than:

CH Enma, falling j.2C, land, j.B, j.2A, ad j.B, j.A, land 2C, j.2A, ad j.2A, j.C

or

CH Enma, falling j.2C, land, 2C, sjc j.B, j.2A, ad (delay) j.B, j.2A, j.C

the first of which provides more corner push and just a tiny bit less damage, the second of which seems to be the max damage I can get out of this.

I believe I saw a combo route in a video that was something like:

[starter] > 623AA > j.2A > AD j.B > j.A > 2C > j.B > j.2A > AD j.2A > j.C

That might be better to do instead of the old 623AA combo.

On some characters you can do 623AA > j.2C > 5C > 2C > sj.B > j.2A > AD > j.B > j.2A > j.C.

This is the best I've seen in vids as well.

Maybe you could even do j.B -> j.a -> etc. carry after 2c? Not sure if it does more dmg, though.

Best I know for corner Enma CH:

E. CH -> j.2c -> 5c -> 2c -> loop x2 -> j.2a x2 -> AD j.2a -> j.C -> 5c -> 3c
