[CP] Relius Clover Loketest Changes and Discussion Thread

Post and discuss any Relius changes from the loketests in this thread. Any wishlist/speculation is fine too. If I post anything incorrect, please let me know and I'll fix it.

System Changes:

-Gold bursts removed

-Crush Trigger: Pressing A+B during certain attacks will cause a guard break if the opponent is not barrier guarding. Costs 25 heat.

-Overdrive: Activated by pressing A+B+C+D. Grants character-specific abilities and may also increase damage. Duration is based on your current health (less health = longer duration) and freezes the clock while active.

-Can now tech by holding a button instead of having to press it when able to tech.

Relius' Overdrive:

-Maxima Dance: IC recharges faster.

Changes:

-New Move: Gad Leis (41236B)

-Changed Move: Id Naiads (can be done on the ground now)

-New Move: Geara Lugia (22A/B/C)

Loketest 1:

-6B>6C gatling is gone.

-Possible that 5B>3C>236C>214A>6C>214A>5C>JB>JB>j236C>214A blue beats at the end.

-Geara Lugia: The A,B and C button determine the range where the attack happens. Slow startup. Supposedly hits low. Scissor-like attack that may act similar to Eddie's drills.

-Gad Leis: Slow. Hits in front of Relius. About as long as 5D (possible typo; may have meant 6D). Sword/Swiss army knife looking attack. Two hits and vacuum effect similar to Valk's 6B.

-No followups found yet for ground Id Naiads.

-6C launches on ground hit.

-214D trajectory may have changed.

-IC costs roughly the same as in EX.

-2D>Gad leis works. 5B>2C>2D1>6C>2D2>Gad leis does not work.

-Gad Leis>2A/5A works.

-Bel Rafino tracks opponents.

Combos found:

-5B>236C>214A>2C>6C>Gad Leis

about 3.3k

-6B>Tk 236C>2C>6C>Gad leis>5C>6B>j.B>j.C>j.236C

Possible blue beat with followup at end

-5C>236c>214a>6C>214A>5C>2C>4D>3C>Vol tedo

About 4.8k

-2B>3C>6D>Gad Leis>5C>2C>6C>214A>6B>j.B>j.B>j.C>j.236C

Loketest 2:

-Req Vinum command changed to 2363214C

-Crush trigger has good proration and causes stagger on ground hit. Done by Relius alone.

-Ignis consumes more gauge in idle state. About 1000 for every 5 seconds.

-Gad Leis has SMP

-Geara Nose is slower and has terrible proration.

-jB hitbox nerf.

-236C may have more recovery, launches less high.

-Haas has SMP.

-Geara Lugia seems slow and gives small reward. Opponent can emergency tech on normal hit; CH requires RC to follow up.

-Bel Rafino does not track fullscreen. Max range is about the same as 5B.

-Throw in corner can only be followed up with 236C.

-6A is slightly faster.

System Changes:

-Overdrive active time seems to be greatly reduced

-You get about 33% Burst if a round ends while in OD

Apparently,

blue beats at the end.

The guy says he might've messed up somehow.

Geara Lugia:

(No idea what he's referring to.Could be a typo.)

Is Gad Leis the move that was unused in Extend? (the attack with a large swiss army knife)

It kinda sounds like it might be, I think saying "as long as 5D" is a mistake and he meant to say 6D.

I hear a lot of talk about a sword regarding that move.

A short range stab or swing with a sword to be specific.

The swiss army knife could qualify as a sword,I guess.

Geara Lugia has scissors coming out of the ground. (lol?)

Comparable to eddie's drills.

Ground 236C>naiads seems impossible to follow up at the moment.

6C launches on grounded hit apparently.

I'm not all that upset about the loss of 6B>6C given the new moves we got, but that combo blue beating at the end is kind of concerning. I'm hoping it was just an error, but it's possible that jB might have less hitstun now and we'd have to use jC to go into j236C. Of course this is just speculation, but that would be far better than having that combo dropping from just scaling.

Also do you guys want me to differentiate between what might be a nerf or buff with the changes, or should I just keep listing everything as is?

No one mentioned this yet?

-Nerf: His artwork has been noticeably fucked up. His face has been horribly disfigured so he now looks like a gorilla with a mask on it.

I apologize and accept responsibility for any punishment that may result from posting this.

lmao I was almost tempted to list it in the changes. It's no big deal though, because it is a change after all. :3

I didn't really expect there to be anyway to combo off of ground Naiads, the way I see it it'll be used midscreen in order to keep your opponent closer to you since 214A used to throw them away from you.

I really hope Lafino gets some changes, that move hasn't really got any reasons to be used that often as it stands right now.

Geara Nose too, that move is just too slow.

So when they say Id Naiads is available on the ground, does that also mean it can be used as a followup for ground Id Lauger? If not, it's just going to be as useless as j.214B is now.

Any word on what it takes to make Ignis disappear? Or does she go kaput the instant you get hit (or have your throw teched)?

Looks like a good anti-air. Particularly resistant to fighting-type moves.

Geara nose:Trajectory may have changed.

The overdrive has no effect if Ignis is broken.

6D can be used 8 times with a full gauge.

4D 10 times.

2D 5 times.

Val Lanto: costs 2000(3000).

It takes 13 ticks of the clock for ignis to fully recover.

Pretty much the same values as CSEX.

2D>Gad leis works.

5B>2C>2D1>6C>2D2>Gad leis does not work.

Gad Leis>2A/5A works.

5B>236C>214A>2C>6C>Gad Leis

about 3.3k

I'm not too fussed about Ignis values not changing, the moves we got make up for it. Being able to link moves after a ground Gad Leis is awesome, i'm just hoping it's plus on block so that he can have a pressure reset without Ignis.

His damage still looks good, no worries there.

I'm assuming you mean is he still able to jump cancel 6b/5c?

If he can still TK 236c off of these moves then that means that they are still jump-cancellable. This also means that the hitstun/untech time is still long enough to connect air normals off of it too.

Throw>5B does not seem to work anymore.

Crush trigger seems to have good proration.

Crush trigger causes stagger state on a ground hit.

Crush Trigger is supposedly done by Relius alone.

Ignis consumes more gauge in idle state.

Gad Leis has same move proration.

The second hit of Gad Leis tends to miss on an airborne Makoto after 6C.

Free punish for her.

Geara Nose is slower.

Geara Nose>2A x3>2B (Nose hits at this point)

Geara Nose has terrible proration.

j.B hitbox nerf.

236C may have more recovery.

Haas apparently has same move proration.(Both versions count.)

Geara Lugia is currently said to be fairly useless against everyone but Tager due to the slow

start up and the small reward.

The location the scissors appear at isn't that helpful either.

According to Tori the sweet spot for Relius would actually be somewhere between A Lugia and B Lugia.

Time will tell,I guess.

(Loke test 1:B Lugia CH>rc>5B works.

Depending on the spacing, Lugia>2D can also work.)

Bel Rafino (Loketest 1) tracks the opponent now.

I see more nerfs than buffs. What the hell arksys. j.B was great but it wasn't broke. I can definitely think of more OP moves that were not touched *coughRAGNA5Bcough*

These changes don't make a whole lot of sense to me. Haas repeat proration? There goes all the juicy corner combos. I hope these drills have some decent untech time to make up for it.

I don't get it, we already never used this move because it sucks so I think it MIGHT need to be buffed :U

Lafino buff sounds pretty good though.

These changes baffle me for the most part though, completely the wrong direction to go with this character.....and he was sounding pretty well balanced at first.

Why would they nerf a move that was already a useless pile of crap? That makes no sense whatsoever.

I also don't see the point of nerfing j.b either. The normal was good at best, there was no good reason to nerf it when Relius is already bad in the air without Ignis.

Oh well at least I can be happy about Lafino tracking opponents. The more tools he has to shut down zoners the better.

Hopefully people find a good use for Lugia, I was hype for that move and Relius really doesn't need another useless move.

Tell me about it, the damage and knockdown for Lugia looks rather meh.

Relius doesn't need to be the character that players only use half the moveset of.

I'm not too worried about them at the moment though seeing as the game is being taken in an entirely new direction. But, the things that irk me the most is the fact that some of his more useless moves got even worse and that one of his new moves (the one I was most hype for no less) doesn't sound too hot either. It's not like a fair bit of our moveset was sub-par>useless in Extend anyway right? :v:
