I found out that you can actually DP between the 1st and 2nd and the 2nd and 3rd hits in Labrys' auto-combo, which is kind of important because her 4th hit places her a pretty safe distance away if you just block it.

You can easily dodge her DP during pressure so long as you don't do 5AA, which can kind of lock you into it. JC is perfect for pressure, she has virtually no answer. Air-to-air Labrys seems dominant, but it's easy to anti-air her and hard for Labrys to AA Chie. This match seems pretty well in Chie's favor.

This matchup is like 7:3 Chie favor if not better.

She really has no defensive options at all except guard cancel. If you pay attention you can just stagger 5a all day and cancel in to BD/upback whenever she DPs or Guard Cancels. It's really stupid.

Just be careful not to lose to Labrys' offense game. Her 2b and jb are both very strong tools you need to watch out for. If she uses her hook during pressure she is usually going to go for a low(slide) or an instant overhead with j.b. If she goes the overhead route you can actually mash it out with 5a in to a full combo. Anyways, save your burst for when she gets red axe and just jab her until her axe is weak again.

discuss what went wrong here, cause this doesn't seem very 70-30ish to me.

MarlinPie messed up his pressure multiple times and got caught by too many random hits, Duckator played a near-perfect defensive game. I also think MarlinPie could've used OMC more often in pressure, he was often stuck with a ton of meter. The flaws in the matchup were apparent; Labrys had to block everything perfectly and wait for a mistake, or use a burst to escape pressure. She's advantaged on offense, sure, but not as advantaged as Chie is.
