Natsu Report post Posted February 5, 2013 So I'm new to the fighting genre, Guilty Gear is the first game in the genre and I'm in the process of learning the arcsystem and I'm having trouble with the Drill Cancel. I've read the encyclopedia thread, and if I understood correctly. I need to press j2k and quickly after do fautless. Did I understand it correctly? Is there any videos? wirestyle22 Report post Posted August 13, 2013 My question is how exactly am I supposed to use this? From what I'm getting my falling animation stops completely when I do the drill cancel. Check out Nage and Kiisha for good +R Faust footage. Also check out the guilty bits faust episode it gives you a basic rundown of that as well. Is that a +R change or can I do that now? Also, in +R we get the new items. Does this technically decrease the chance of other items occurring? i.e. if we had two items where one had a 75% chance of occurring and the other has a 25% chance, then we add a third, one of the items percentage chance has to decrease due to the new item becoming available. tl;dr you have to make room btw ty for the resources EDIT: From what I can see from the vids you posted, most of the top players use drill cancelling for instant overheads and to stop jumps if they feel (based on the other characters movement) its no longer in their best interest to jump in that direction. Is there any other reasons you can think of? Sorry for the late reply, Faust has a new FB Door that is extremely fast, and like the other Doors, it can be FRC'd. Which is pretty flippin sexy. Yeah the chance for the others would be lowered by that, but we got Dumbbells which aren't so bad, and most of the items are greatly improved anyway. Though I'm not sure what their actual percentages are, I swear Mini-Pot has a .0001% chance of showing up when I need him. and Drill Cancelling is a great resource for low to the ground j.S and j.H that both cover incredible space just above the ground. You can also use it to stall in the air a bit. Drill Cancelling from way above their head can set up j.D/j236D drops too. The more uses you can find for Drill Cancel the better, tbh.
