:sweatdrop: finally updated

So I've been comparing this thread with others (mostly Tsubaki and Rachel), and just been making things easier to update and to ensure I don't make a 4th thread. :eng101:

I kinda followed this pic here and just went with whatever didn't confuse me while updating.

Hope you all prefer it this way, I for one miss spelling out the characters' name fully :8/:

I considered making the whole notable player ranking thing, but can't read Kanji :v: (at least not yet)

also considered having notable players having their own box of matches (like how Tsubaki vid thread has theirs), but forget that!

Hope you all prefer ctrl+f instead, it's the reason things aren't hidden in Show/Hide drop down boxes.

Don't worry about anything, our video thread is concise and organized. New players shouldn't just be watching the notable player video they should be watching ALL videos in order to get a better understanding of the do's and don'ts as Tao.

Matoi played against Amane all wrong in terms of using his tools. He barrier blocked when he should have taken the hit, crawled when he should have up-backed/block, and try to mash when he was at a disadvantage. Tbh the match up looks really momentum based and I would like to see how effective being at super jump height is against Amane in general (I feel he is out of range). Overall the most common mistakes I see all JP Tao's make is that they get out of the chip vortex (in danger/near 0 barrier gauge) and try to rush right in and get anti aired. The best thing to do would be to just back it up till barrier regenerates and wait for a clean hit into some knockdown.

Finally Amane is one of those character you can't just run up from full-screen and mash air normals expecting to get monster profit, reminds me of playing against Hazama just that Amane is stationary rather than moving around.

Would one way of looking at it be: Amane is one of those characters that can just tag Taokaka out of the air here and there more so than Hazama?

And yeah wit all the vids I've see, some Tao just get deaded, I don't see them escaping drills often, like it shouldn't be difficult Tao has drives, she has mobility.

The purpose of the SMP is to help with timing oki and to be really lazy. Rather than "mistime" your meaty (AKA mashing buttons way too hard) and having to do a blue beat confirm you can just do the SMP ender, probably whiff 5A ,and do a meaty dash 5B which will not blue beat if the opponent chooses to delay their tech it will start a new combo. And if they wake up mashing well then they take a a raw 5B starter which can honestly go to 6K if people don't mash burst/player knows combos.

Probably the only ender that I accept as both scrubby and genius at the same time because I thought about that shit months ago when I found out 5D caused that slide animation.

Seriously... Matoi... on one hand I like that he's very creative at times...and I'm not talking about the taunt combos, but more about all the variety of pressure strings and traps he uses. You can tell he has a good reading ability but jeez lately he's been fooling around a little too much. :V

Kinji is always the same, he rides a lot on momentum but when he finds an opponent who's really good at reading movement he sort of collapses. Still, he's visibly improving.

Mame is probably the most "textbook" Tao I've ever seen among the high-level japanese ones but his movement and his fundamentals are SO GOOD he doesn't really need to get too tricky like Kinji or Matoi do.

Matoi's not bad to watch. I just give him shit because he isn't the type of player I would bet all my BB bucks on.

Kinji continues to improve with each version of the game, but again he isn't even a Demi-God yet.

Mame's Tao is kinda ass, but he has begun to step it up a lot because Arc revo is just around the corner. He looks hungry, but this year given the way Tao's have played this version I'm probably going to bet against them, unless Isa comes in on that last chance qualifier.

Let's not forget about Denpa, he used to be my favorite Tao back in CT and he could very well be a dark horse at ArcRevo.
