[CP] Yuuki Terumi Video Thread

Recommended Posts

Was laying in bed and thought about incorporating resets into my gameplan. So I woke up today and hit the lab and these are the ones I found and will try and use.

http://youtu.be/-uv0BYFbo6A

The 2C, 6B reset will probably work very poorly since people tend to forward/back tech and you can't even do 2C, 5C to stop it unfortunately.

*EDIT*

After playing online and strongly going for these I have come to the conclusion that people lack respect and or just press buttons and tech like mad men. Also if anyone is ever hit by reset and has burst they instant burst (they better xD)

All in all the 22C resets is nice because people who avoid it most often neutral barrier tech so you end up in a kind of neutral situation with them still in the corner so not all bad.

The 6D reset is god awful if they barrier block though the hitstun is insanely weird so people have a really hard time punishing it.

Excellent stuff to throw out once in a while. Especially if they don't have burst. If they have it it's just a waste to drop dmg/ender/oki.

I play him and Azrael on stream here and there. Planning on streaming this saturday on twitch.tv/inputlag but dunno if I'll whip out Terumi. Depends alot since I'm switching over to mainly Azrael.

Also you can search for Terumi players on NicoVideo but imo they aren't that good for being JP players...

This is the search link for Nicovideo for "Terumi" and sorted by newest video. If you need an account you're gonna have to google that one.

Are there any high level players playing Terumi at the moment ? I'm pretty sure that question has been ask before

Neither Terumi, Kagura nor Kokonoe are in Arcades in Japan, so the only videos you'll find are about console footage.

There aren't really any noteable Terumi players from Japan since as said it's console only. I don't know of any big name that plays Terumi that you see vids of posted at Nico. Also for replays uploaded that you can watch the "high ranked" ones with like Dan 10-14 are all kinda bad as well.

Ah ok I'm really digging Terumi so I will continue to get better with him I just need some help applying pressure. I heard 6b is used a lot for pressure. I always wanted to know so simple block strings I will keep an out on some vids.

I cant read runes but that first part of the video seems rather dishonest to me.

Anything into 6B is a pretty large gap that is much easier to disrespect than it appears. Im pretty sure Azrael could have just 5A his way out, maybe even 5B.

5B is +2 on block so if blocked and you do another 5B it's a 6F gap. This makes 5B dash pressure excellent. The reason for this is that you can always cancel straight to 2C or anything else for a frame trap to discourage people from mashing. So 5B, 2C, 5C and you have 2C with really good P1 as starter for easy 4,5k dmg.

When people are afraid you can start doing 5B dash pressure and eventually they get rather locked down and you can do 6B freely all day.

Imo this is really what ALL Terumi players are severly lacking. This is really good pressure and "mixup" for advanced play. If you are fine with doing 2A, 5B, 5C, 2C, 5D, 236D on block to end up with -4 each time be my guest but that isn't going to open up anyone but yourself exposing yourself as an autopilot fraud Terumi! This is being said that I've done and do this WAY to much.

However I use 6B ALOT and I generally do 2A dash pressure and 2B delay 5B. I actually hit 6B on people's jump startup frames quite alot and it's super easy to confirm straight to 22C and that's also an excellent P1 starter so you end up with easy 4,5k+. If they are in the corner and you have OD available depending on the meter when hitting air opponent with 6B you can do 7k easily as well.

Just my 2 cents on the whole thing. I think this is they way Terumi should be played and most likely will be played when he hits arcade. Just look at the Hazama's using dash 2A and dash 5B already and how great that works out for them with the same data with the exception of Terumi's 2A seems to be 7F startup instead of 6F but it's not official AWS data.

Thats not what i was taking issue with though.

5B stagger and the options it gives is quite good, as is to be expected of any normal borrowed from Hazama.

What i take issue with is that he was showing Azrael get fatal countered multiple times doing dumb stuff like 2A to try to poke out, when he could easily 5A on reaction and beat 6B every time. It just seems dishonest to display that, as if he didnt even bother to check what the opponents options are, and instead just went "herp derp look how unbeatable this move is".

I don't know man... I know 6B has 28F startup but when canceled into from a move with alot of other options and having to confirm that it's actually 6B that you can poke out and not 2C or whatnot... that feels a bit too gdlk. I'd never dare anything if it didn't have invul due to the risk of being hit and getting Fatal Counter. But that could be only me as well. I don't feel the risk vs reward would be in my favour to mash against a Terumi doing that block pressure as I'd most likely get ch'd by one thing or another into most likely easy 4k dmg.
