[P4AU] Marie Combo Thread (Updated 4/13/15)

just messing around with corner throw combos, not going to claim they're in any way the most efficient

 

throw>5B>5C>2C>236D is a nice way to set up a 236D to annoy the opponent on their wakeup. beats some wakeup DPs, but not Yosuke's so block to avoid the trip

can replace 236D with 214C or 214CD. can be used to setup an unblockable

 

unblockable prorates poorly, best damage I can get is

214CD>5C>2C>2B>5B>236A>236236C~A [3879]

 

throw>5B>5C>2C>2B>5B>236A [2209] gets you a solid knockdown and can be comboed into 236236C for weather change and more damage than the 236236A you have to use in the challenge mode combo

236D > 5C > 2C > 2B > 5BB > 2B > 5B > j.B > j.C > jc > j.B > j.C > j.236AB - 3497 (That's without the second hit of 236AB, but it should be possible to land it, and it's advantage either way)

236D>5C>2C>2B>5BB>2AB>236B>j.B>j.C>j.236B does 2496 and costs 25 less meter. You can also combo into the weather change super after the grounded 236B for more damage

still can't get the second hit of 236B or 236AB though

 

also found you can combo off of 236C in the corner

5A>5AA>5C>236C>5A>5B>5C>2C>2B>236A does 2123, 3773 with lvl 2 sunny

Experimenting with some universal OMC routes from midscreen to help against the smaller characters.

 

5AA > 5B > 5C > 2AB > 236A(2) > OMC > dash > 5BB > 2B > 5C > 2C > 5B > 236A > 236236C~A - [4537]

 

Midscreen-to-corner:

5AA > 5B > 5C > 2AB > 236A(2) > OMC > dash > 5C > 2C > 2B > 5B > j.B > j.2B > j.D - [2903]

 

j.D oki is actually really, really good.

you can also combo off 236C with 5B in the corner, letting you do 5AA>5B>5C>2AB>236C>5B>5C>2C>2B>5B>236A [2667/29%]

does 4317 with sunny level 2

 

stop at 2C for setup placement or D oki

universal FC, but the first 5B timing is more lenient on Marie and Adachi

you can 5B later on them than others and still have the sweep connect

FC 214A/B~C > 5B > 5C > 2C > 2B > 5BB > 2AB > 236B > airdash > j.B > j.2B > 5AAAA > 236236C [4665-5448/-1%]

being able to combo into autocombo and get the boost makes almost meterless supers a thing

with snow, we actually gain meter overall

Chie and Junpei should be in the first group, and Yosuke should not be with Yukari, Yukiko, and Ken; you can't connect anything after the j.C besides j.236A

If it's posted in the OP, that means I've tested it and it works. Yosuke is harder to combo from that range, but not impossible.

 

I'm curious how you do the j.C on Chie and Junpei, since they always fall out in the middle of it for me.

Whenever I do it on Yosuke, the hits from j.C don't get spaced out and he recovers before I can get the 5A in

I don't do anything special for Chie and Junpei, I just try a few times and I get it.

Chie's actually the character I usually use as a dummy because I know you can land that combo on her in full.

 

Well I'll be damned, I guess I was always doing it at a distance where they ended up in the corner, and that's why it connected

You're talking about with 5C specifically, midscreen? 5AA > 5C > 5BB > 9j.C? Can I see a video of this?

Is anyone using her gold arrows super for combos/oki yet? Seems excellent for this sort of stuff unless the hits prorate to hell. not so much for neutral since kaguya is vulnerable to a lot of stuff among the cast.

Also can Marie do solo combos not involving the persona and if so, how much damage can she get from this?

Bright Arrow yes, it's amazing, you can set it after any sweep midscreen or 2C in the corner. It's going to take some experimentation to figure out the optimal setup, but in the corner you can definitely do (combo) > 2C > 214214C, then 66 5C~AA > 5B~C~B~D > 2B to meaty 5A their wakeup and start the arrows flying to cover the gap from jump canceling 2B. It gives you two free mixups, but I feel like there should be potential for more. Midscreen you need to meaty with 5B instead, so it's a little harder, I just mash 5CCD after the super and take what I can get from it.

 

With her persona broken, Marie is better off than most characters, since she still has decent normals, and she can always end combos with sweep into gift. 5BB > 2B routes still work on crouching/AA, and AA 5BB > 2AB > 236B routes still work on everyone. If you're hard pressed for damage, you can do something like this:

 

5AA > 5B > 2B > 2AB > 236A > RC > (66 if you want side switch) 5BB > 2AB > 236B > delayed airdash > j.B > j.2B > j.236B for 2975.

 

If your persona recovers in mid-combo, you should be able to end that with the j.C(w) fastfall > land 5AAAA > 236236C also.

Most people that I've fought are cautious about Bright Arrow and let them fly, which is usually a bad move on their part

once people start learning they can just hit the persona to stop it, things will change, but it's still a really good super

it feels like they gave Marie the old Chie/Narukami blender at the cost of 50 meter and awakening, not to mention the super itself does a good amount of damage on its own

I've used 214214D in corner combos into cloud then either go for chocolate mixup or neutral air tech resets with Igor. 

 

Example: 5B > 5C > 2AB > 236C > 5B > 5C > 236A > 214214D > 5AAA > 214B~B. I can't remember how many times arrows hit before they fall into cloud after 5AAA. The 5AAA pickup can also be tight if you don't do 214214D quick enough.

 

If they air neutral tech after cloud, I'll reset with Igor into a combo. If you don't hold 214B during the combo, the opponent techs lower to the ground (under cloud), cloud still comes out and you can go for chocolate mixup instead while cloud is hovering over them.

 

The proration from arrows does kill the damage but okay for setup.

5AA>5B>5C>2AB combos aren't universal

they don't work on Naoto, the Labri, Aigis, or Rise

there are better alternatives anyway for all of them but the Labri, but I wanted to be thorough

just omit the 5B for the next best combo

using 2B>5B and omiting the 5C scales more

doesn't work on Kanji, Shos, Labri, Teddie, Rise, or Junpei unless they're in the air, because 214A~C whiffs
