someonewhodied Report post Posted October 8, 2014 Unlisted changes: 3C combos into 214D~C (Old Luna Spike Chaser) 6C no longer emergency techable Unshown: Do we still have our 4B?
AchedSphinx Report post Posted October 8, 2014 So it looks like gravity replaces 22A for Nu since it appears she can cancel into moves pretty quickly afterwards, appears special cancelable as well. The recovery and start-up on gravity seem really quick. So 22A is kind of there in spirit. Should be easier to do the combos now at any rate. Also her combos look pretty cool as well, though I still think the 22A combos were cooler. I'm optimistic to see how flashy her corner combos can get (and overdrive combos for that matter). Also, projectile lv2 hype. That will make certain match-ups a bit easier. Her 236D~C pulls the opponent right to her, so I can see some sick combo routes for that. For instance, full screen 236D~C > 3C looks like it might work because she will recover in time, and they don't tech right away. Though I guess this depends on the starter and proration. Her gravity gauge seems to recovery a bit faster (recovers in 4 seconds or so, in CP it was about 5.5 seconds). They just changed where the meter begins refilling visually. Not sure, but I think her 6C now causes hard knockdown since she was able to do 6C > 66 > 3C. She can also do 4DD twice in a combo, not sure if this is hit only though, and can rep her drives 4 times on the ground. 4DD also cancels into 5DD now and 4DD might have faster start-up. Her 5DD is jump cancelable, might be on hit only (she could jump cancel 5D, not 5DD before). Her j.214D can be feinted so that she's recovering toward the ground and j.214D comes out any way. So she might be able to pick up a combo afterwards without RC and could make for some kind of mix-up. I wonder how legit 5DD > 4DD > 5DD > 4DD will be. Double overheads, no one blocks those! Anyways, that's enough outta me. I haven't played BB in awhile so I could be wrong on a number of things. From the news thread.
Eshi Report post Posted October 8, 2014 I saw this combo actually happen: 5DD > 4DD > 5DD > 4DD > C Sickle Storm > Gravity Well > air juggle. Works midscreen for no meter. That 5DD 4DD shit looks hella annoying to deal with, you have to block it forever and she can act parser after any of them for safety or to go for a cross-up. It honestly likes like all of her ground drives gatling into eachother; I saw weird confirms like 4D > 6D on air hit, throw canceled into 2D. In the corner, Sickle Storm causes wall bounce on hit and can be confirmed with no meter/gravity well. Super gross.
AchedSphinx Report post Posted October 8, 2014 Don't tell me Nu is looking scary again. Well, she's always been scary, but Yandere levels of scary. That's sweet. Also yeah, I can totally see her being beyond annoying now. She can cancel any of those drives into a special, say 236D, and cancel that into 214C to be safe and control the screen. There's also the parcers ha. She seems pretty promising. 4 rep drives might be the best thing ever. Nu: - Various D moves are now considered to be level 2 right after coming out (then degrade back to level 1). - Various D moves can now freely chain into one another up to 4 times (up to 3 times in midair). - The projectile specials that have C follow-ups can now be charged. - Gravity Seed (214A/B/C) can now be canceled into normals and specials, and some specials can now be canceled into Gravity Seed on hit. Ah, I didn't know it was only 1 hit for projectile lv2. Good to know. Though the first hit is the most important.
someonewhodied Report post Posted October 8, 2014 5DD lost stagger. 3C>214D~C only works at almost point blank. Punish combo? Still haven't seen 4B 5DD>236D~C>3C>214D~C seems to work?

Is the 214D~C the fast one? I forget how it works now. Also, yeah, I haven't seen 4B. Makes me wonder if she still has it. Then again there weren't a ton of opportunities for those Nu players to use it. I'm also wondering if anything combos off air hit counter 4D. I saw the Nu players get that a few times and I was curious. Perhaps 6D, the hit confirm seems difficult though.
ElegantShadow Report post Posted October 8, 2014 Was there some stream I missed? That aside, did anyone else notice that Gravity Seed stays out regardless of whether or not the opponent is on it? I can't help but wonder if, with the way the cool-down now works, if it could be used as a type of slowing wall, to further hinder the opponent's advances. And Projectile level 2 when the swords first come out? I'm not sure how I feel about that. Like, I can see people timing their Drive to intercept the projectiles of others, but I imagine that in some match ups, save for some small situations, it won't matter much, unless I'm missing something? Can she still cancel her Specials into Act Parser, by the way? In the small demonstration they released, I didn't see anything to do with that. Was it removed? ElegantShadow Report post Posted October 9, 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrsWN7pMjDM Recorded it for the people who missed it or couldn't see it Oh, thanks! Wow, Nu looks awesome, from that first match with her. I can really see how she and Lambda are different, now. O.O

The cooldown is a second shorter now, so she can reasonably do that. I suppose it depends on how long it lasts now. But she should have good up-time with it. There aren't very many situations where not having projectile lv2 on the second hit matters. She tends to poke with the first hit of her drives. The time between 5D and 5DD or any of her other follow-ups is pretty quick. She would need to stagger it for a long time and the opponent decides to do some kind of projectile. I'm not even sure if there's a projectile that works in that situation. Maybe Jin tossing out ice sword for whatever reason. And even in that case it will clash, so not much of a punish. As far as I'm aware, she could only cancel 6C and her ground drives into Act Parser. She can cancel her specials into gravity on hit now though.
Daramue Report post Posted October 9, 2014 As far as I'm aware, she could only cancel 6C and her ground drives into Act Parser. She can cancel her specials into gravity on hit now though. Yup, that's right. Perhaps you're thinking of Unlimited Nu, Elegant? That's the only version that was able to act parser out of specials (Or command act parsers, which is hilarious). Also yeah - any word on 4B yet? If that's still there then I'm actually not worried about losing mode change anymore. Glad to hear that the crescent cancel is back (There was a rumor going around about a month ago that it was removed via a Yoshiki or Gentarou tweet apparently)
toanenadiz Report post Posted October 9, 2014 We should probably consolidate all the known changes in the first post. And it hasn't been mentioned explicitly yet (though everyone knows it) but she has a new drive move, j6D. And the following is just stuff I noticed while watching that video:5D didn't combo after 236236D. Might have just done it too late cause of the trade: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=DrsWN7pMjDM#t=1651Looks like we can combo from CH crescent saber without RC easily: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=DrsWN7pMjDM#t=5539Interesting combo here 5DD > 4DD > 5DD > 236D~C > 214B > 5B > 6A > 6C > 66 > 2C: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=DrsWN7pMjDM#t=7072Looks like one of our corner routes is stuff > 236D > 5DD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=DrsWN7pMjDM#t=6572Another one is stuff > 236D > 214A > 5C: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=DrsWN7pMjDM#t=6532

I could have sworn that there was some huge fuss being made back in the first Loketest, that Nu could use Act Parser out of Sickle Storm, Spike Chaser, and Gravity Seed? Hmm... Maybe I'm not remembering, correctly. :o We should probably consolidate all the known changes in the first post. Hmm... I'm not missing Mode Change as much, now that I've seen those. I love what they've done with her Drive, overall. It seems to have improved in some way, but I can't quite put my finger on it. PlaneCrash Report post Posted October 9, 2014 do you think she will be better than nu-13 ? i really don't like it that i can't switch modes anymore with nu and now i don't know which one is more reliable.. or is lambda more balanced in terms of close range and far range combat while nu is only good at ranged combat ?
AchedSphinx Report post Posted October 10, 2014 From what I've seen, Nu appears to be more flexible. She can do 4 reps, I think Lambda still has the 3, plus Nu can cancel her drive moves into one another, even back cancel them, i.e 5DD > 4DD > 5DD or 6DD > 5DD > 6DD. Nu is also the superior zoner since gravity has a shorter cooldown and she can pick you apart at a distance. Nu probably has legit 3k damage combos fullscreen. Lambda is about oki, mix-up, baits, and damage. She's also a good zoner, she just can't control the field that easily because she lacks a quick gravity and fullscreen spike chaser. They both have a lot of room to grow. I honestly can't wait to see how they fare a month from now. Edit: Actually, I just checked out some Lambda videos and her gravity on whiff has the same recovery as Nu does.
BeaverDeity Report post Posted October 10, 2014 Yeah at first I was totally skeptical about how they would make the two characters different but they play totally differently. I watched some video and Nu players would use their gravity as a zoning tool while the Lambda players would use their gravity seed to FC punish or whatever. I don't think that one is necessarily better than the other but just that their functions are completely different. Nu's ranged game seems to be stronger because of her swords having lots of versatility, the ability to cancel her moves with more fast special moves, gravity seed being on a lower cooldown and the differences in the parser moves, but then again Lambda has moves like Exiga Nail and Parser Zwei and stuff to be used for something different, like mid screen mixup or going in on someone. But yeah from what I've seen Nu is kind of going back to her CT roots a little bit while Lambda kind of goes along the CS route in terms of playstyle. It'll be really interesting to see where they go from here. Not really sure if we can say which one is better or whatever yet, but I think it's safe to say that their functions are way different and their playstyles are kind of drawn from two separate sources. Durkslag Report post Posted October 10, 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GVx6XCSFHI A lot of Nu matches in there 4B is gone, doesnt look like you can jump cancel Ds on block but the new gravity cancels look awesome
AchedSphinx Report post Posted October 10, 2014 Kinda cool but Nu can cancel gravity into parser. Also Supra is a legit combo extender. They made it easier to combo from it. http://youtu.be/2GVx6XCSFHI?t=11m27s Pretty funny. Nu's drives actually ate through Tager's projectile armor. Not sure if practical, spacing and all. Might be different if Tager used the B sledge for instance. http://youtu.be/2GVx6XCSFHI?t=13m2s
toanenadiz Report post Posted October 10, 2014 Watched the latest Nu matches (except the Rachel ones) and here are some things I noticed: Looks like you can act parser out of gravity well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GVx6XCSFHI#t=688 New combo 2B > 2C > 3C > 623C > 214A > 6DD > D spam. Seems to be our new midscreen combo and there is no reason not to use since gravity well recovers by the end of the combo.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GVx6XCSFHI#t=596 This time, they were able to do 623C > 6DD without the gravity well though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GVx6XCSFHI#t=897 This confirms that her drives are only projectile level 2 during the initial active frames: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GVx6XCSFHI#t=911 623C doesn't seem to FC anymore: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GVx6XCSFHI#t=1566 641236D grounds them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GVx6XCSFHI#t=1592 623C being used at the end of an air combo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GVx6XCSFHI#t=1954 236D (the charged version I guess) fatals: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GVx6XCSFHI#t=2025 Is CH jB > dash 2DD something new? AchedSphinx Report post Posted October 13, 2014 Yeah, I had a feeling she might be able to combo off the delayed crescent without meter. Leads to a strong midscreen combo if it lands. Personally, I liked the corner combos that had 6C into 214D. I guess the short 214D doesn't have SMP with the longer versions. Nu looks good imo.

Daramue Report post Posted October 16, 2014 Too bad about the loss of 4B and JC on block drives (even if they were situational), but the rest of the tools we are getting certainly make up for it. Interested to see how gravity replaces 22A in functionality a little more. Thank god the bit about us losing crescent cancel was false.
