Big Bang Beat Revolve

Where can this game be purchased?

http://www.paletweb.com/selectpage.asp?code=0004429

I wouldn't exactly advise purchasing it, because as of about January of last year Aja and their servers went down, taking the online with it. There is currently no means to play the game online, making purchasing it pretty much a waste of your time and money.

As much as I would like to play it online, it's going to be played offline 90% of the time so I'll still make the purchase. Thank you very much for the information. I'm also looking for Melty Blood and as many other PC fighting games as possible but not even eBay has provided me with a means of purchase unfortunately. Any information is appreciated :)

The newest Melty Blood is damn near impossible to find for purchase. But i acquired a few days ago with the help of google. Out out the fighting games i have on PC, i recommend BBBR, MBAACC 1.07, MLP:Fighting is magic, and Princess Vanguard. But if your looking for a non-PC fighting game to play locally, i'd suggest AquaPazza for PS3. It can be found on site's like PlayAsia.com.

I've never heard of AquaPazza and MLP Fighting is Magic, thanks for the suggestions. I bought Vanguard Princess on Amazon for a mere $4.99 a few months ago. I was shocked that I even found it there of all places :) I'm still on the hunt for Melty Blood AAC though.

So I ended up booting this game up again (since I couldn't get Eternal Fighter Zero to work on Win7).

This game is still really fun :<

I wish it wasn't dead.

Maybe we should bombard Mauve with begging to make a caster for it. Playable online is the only way I see anyone being able to revive this game.

Playable online could help, but how many people even remember this game?

Not only that, but everyone seems to have a bad taste in their mouth about Revolve because of the first game.

So how many people would even bother to try it?

At least practicing Senna combos is fun :<

Whether they remember it or not is kinda irrelevant, wouldn't you think? If it had playable online we could spread the word about it and get people to try it out. If they hated the first game (and for good reason at that), we would just let them know Revolve is a completely different game made by a different company. I think if people would give it a chance they'd like it.

Well it's always worth a shot.

I'll be hanging out in the poverty area at WinterBrawl this weekend.

Maybe I'll load it up and try to get people playing lol

Man what happened to this game? Kinako was probably the most fun fighting game character I ever played as.

Are the servers still dead? I remember someone saying about 4 months ago that Aja Frontier was still alive and had panels at Comiket.

I might replay this just for lulz, Is it even possible to patch this game to the latest version?

Servers still dead, no one cares about it just like they always did, I'm still coming up with new tech and ways to keep the game alive at least for myself. Same as it always was. Also, yes, you can still update to 1.06, Aja had the foresight to put downloads on their nonfunctional website you can still download, it will update a clean install to 1.05d and then from there you download another patch to get to 1.06.

I've been trying Ren and I found out he has insane corner carry. Any confirm into his 2C he can do 214xN until you're at the corner. I think he can also do this to ground opponents but I haven't been successful with some characters. That might be character specific.

Also, 6C is way too slow. I can't find anyway to combo into it.

6C is for when you put someone in a molotov.

I can't exactly vouch for the entire FGC, but I did nothing but play this game on my lonesome all last Summer, and I actually went through the trouble of e-mailing Mauve and requesting a caster, myself. My request was swiftly rejected, but rest assured that if there was online play, people would absolutely love this game.

Started playing this again, seriously can't believe this game is so overlooked and that Aja's servers went down :\. Is there seriously no way to play netplay?

I always try to keep this game on whatever computer I'm on, and I still have a lot of fun with it. I'm going to try bringing it to my local poverty/anime scene and see if anyone want to play it again.

So I did some searching and found Aja Frontier's twitter, it was completely blank, hasn't been used in a long time.

On the other hand I found one of the staff members for Aja Frontier who worked on Big Bang Beat, he tweets pretty often and his profile lists him as a programmer for Aja Frontier and links to their website. He hasn't posted anything about them or BBB in about 2 years though. His last tweet about Aja two years ago was just him saying he was aware about the site/server problems and for people to please be patient.

I'd ask him whats up with Aja Frontier and if BBB has a future but I don't speak japanese and using google translate to talk to him about it seems kinda rude.

In other news, I found some pretty cool Kinako restand combos, they seem pretty character specific. I'm gonna try getting my local poverty fighter community interested, but I doubt it'll get anywhere.

Alright, I don't know how many people who've posted in this thread previously are left (or even care still), but I say we bombard either Mauve, or anyone else who's skilled in programming to make a caster for this game in the vein of Akastuki Blitzkampf or one of the Touhou fighters. Spread the word!

as much I would like for this game to have caster. I prefer we don't harass some one to do it. I'm willing to donate if the programmer wants some type of compensation.

Honesty real talk i wish Aja care about this game to but they lie to us if anyone remembers this post Here is the translation of an interview we did few weeks ago about our circle and our future projects.

We also added some informations for the foreign players.

What is the difference between NRF and Frontier Aja?
Frontier Aja is a independant game circle created by some members of the "BigBangBeat" team.
But Frontier Aja and NRF are now two completely separated game circles.
After the release of BigBangBeat, there was some differences of point of view in the team and in short, the person in charge of the project, time after time, decided to stop the support to the users.
Some other members of NRF refused to give up their project and finally created "Frontier Aja" in 2007 to continue providing support and patches.
Unfortunately, at this time, the team was missing a programmer and the modifications in the patches was not enough to satisfy the demands of the users. Once again, we have to apologize for the difficulties we had at this time to fix and improve the quality of BigBangBeat.

Why did you decide to not create a new fighting game?
Frontier Aja does not have the license of the game engine created by NRF for BigBangBeat. We don't have a game engine for fighting games. Creating an engine for fighting game is difficult, long and tricky. It was impossible for us to release a fighting game as a first game. Since we also wanted to include new features, such as netplay, we decided to postpone the development of BBB2 and to start with an Action Game with horizontal scrolling. After that, with the new engine, we will be more ready to develop fighting games.
People may think that Koumajou Densetsu is just a project to train us for our next projects. But Koumajou Densetsu is not just training for us, it's also a very interresting project in an other genre we wanted to try.

Why did you decide to create a game based on Touhou?
When I first saw the illustrations of Vampire Killer on PIVIX, I thought "this is it!".
And since there are several fans of the Touhou series in the team, it was an easy decision. ^^

What is the differences between Koumajou Densetsu and the other Touhou games.
The Touhou games are usually shooting games.
This is of course different from an action game.
You just have to take a look to some screenshots and you will understand. ^^
We don't really know the other games based on Touhou universe.
Usually when a company uses a license, the success of the game may come from the license.
But using the characters of Touhou is not enough to make a game interresting.
We really wanted to create a good game, even for the players who never played the Touhou games before.

It looks like a copy of Castlevania...
Yeah, that's right. Who used some basics of the classic Castlevania but it's also different. For example you can fly like in a shooting game.
Just try to play and you will see the difference.

How many people worked on the project and how long did it take?
Frontier Aja is a small cercle and so, we have to work hard.
Since it's our first action game, it's difficult for us to know if it took long or not. But we actually think the development was quite short (around 3 months). For a 3 months project, we personaly think that the result is a miracle. ^^

Doujin games are not well known in foreign countries. What do you think about that?
In Japan the doujin game are really known as an other genre of games, but unfortunately, foreigners do not seem to care about it.

Why did you decide to communicate with foreigners about your game?
Since the time of BigBangBeat, we always wanted to talk about our games with foreigners.
It's fantastic to think that someone, somewhere in the world is maybe playing our game.
We also notice that a lot of person from foreign countries were visiting our homepage.
But so far, we were not able to communicate in foreign languages.
We are realizing one of our dreams and from now on, we really want to localize all our games.

Can you tell us more about BBB2?
As I explained above, the development of BBB2 is something very difficult and we need more time. We really want BBB2 to be a success.
We will do our best to produce this game and we are counting on your support!

How can the players from overseas buy your game?
Our game has been released in Japan the 15 august. We contacted different shops on internet (Himeya and Paletweb for example), to be sure they will have enough stock. We are also thinking about opening a shop on ebay.

A message for the foreign players?
First, we really want to thank you for playing our games. We really want to allow the foreign players to play in an easy way our games. Compare to the Japanese players, people from overseas are usually more enthusiastics and that's a great motivation for us.
We are working hard and without external helps to communicate with foreign players.
All the communications are managed internally which is very rare for a doujin game.

We sincerely want you to appreciate the game in its integrality.
That's the reason why, we officialy announce the release of a translation patch for Koumajou Densetsu in September.
The patch will allow the user to switch the languages between Japanese, English and French.
We sincerely hope you will enjoy the game and we want to make the doujin games more known overseas.

Once again, thank you for your support, and enjoy the game!

-Frontier Aja-

Mauve has already said he doesn't want to make a caster for the game, don't bother him about it. Frankly I've gotten used to being the only dude who plays the game.

Yo, guys.

Real talk:

I finally got this game working, patched up, and ready to go.

But I have one last persisting problem. I can't set my stick controls.

No matter what I do, I can not set any buttons.

I'm not a keyboard or a pad player, so I can't really make any compromises.

Someone help me, please.

Anyone able to help us with this?  It would be greatly appreciated.

Have either of you tried setting the stick buttons with something like Joy2Key or Xpadder?

It's been a while since I played BBBR, especially since I can't get it running anymore lol, but I think that's what I did for my TE.
