So Xrd has been out for a little under a month now, and it seems like a lot of new people are interested in Guilty Gear because of it, which is awesome! I’ve recently started to hear more and more that new players are having trouble with a few key things, so to help with that, I’ve decided to write about a very important topic: Throws!
French player Alioune-sensei is world renown not only for is amazing Street Fighter IV play, but also for his skill and love of Guilty Gear. In Xrd, this is also the case as the lab monster has been hard at work developing unblockable technology for Elphelt, a newcomer to the series and console-exclusive character. Check out this playlist after the break.
With Guilty Gear Xrd now available for both Japan as well as North America, plenty of videos and tech have come in for various characters.
On the tutorial side of things, I-no, a character notorious for being extremely execution heavy and requiring demanding play has been broken down for beginners looking to try her out. Check out these community created I-no tutorials after the jump.
With the Japanese release of Under Night In-Birth: EXE Late [uNIEL] imminent this evening (7/24/14) in Japan, there is sure to be a flood of interested players descending on various forums, wikis, and match vids looking for information so that they may better learn and understand the system and facets of this new IP.
Luckily, the players at Japan's Akihabara Leisureland Arcade in Tokyo, Japan have put together an amazing clinic showcasing the intricacies of the title; breaking down various game systems for the beginner as well as delving into some pretty impressive advanced strategies and offensive/defensive option selects. Hit the jump to get more info as well as to check out the videos!
Guts 3 will be going down this coming September 19-21 featuring almost every game under the sun and then some, at the legendary Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Ledyard, Conneticut.
But the real hype news here is that Godly airdasher/anime game player Ruu (GG - Bridget) from Japan will be making an appearance to participate in the Guilty Gear Accent Core +R tournament! While this is not Ruu's first appearance in the US for a Guilty Gear tournament (Evolution 2007), it does mark the first time that he has visited the East Coast, especially by himself.
Check out the information for the tournament as well as Ruu's visit to the states after the jump!
GameNow runs off of a monthly subscription, and for at the very least these 2 games are set at 450 yen (~$5.00 USD). Check the jump for more info regarding these two nostalgic titles, as well as the cloud based service model!
For those of you already or prepping to brave the Las Vegas heat for this year's upcoming Blazblue, Guilty Gear, and Persona tournaments at the Evolution 2014 Championships this coming weekend, there is a great short survival guide for the colossal event written by none other than Shoryuken.com's and EVO's very own Tom "Inkblot" Cannon.
Check out more info after the break as well as the link to the guide.
Baiken's words to Asuka when confronting him (she asks "Why did you kill them? Why did you burn them?"):
Baiken's Childhood Recollection (1:33 mark of GGX Anime Video):
Please note that this cutscene has parts that were retconned from actual GGX dialogue, but so far it's the only "evidence" depicting Baiken's Childhood according to her bio information.
When Baiken's memory actually occurred during events is vague and unclear, but Daisuke Ishiwatari deliberately placed this information alongside the events that Destroyed Japan, so the two are connected, primarily because rampaging Gears were involved, but also their connection to "That Man".
Another piece of "vague evidence" is the Conclave who were supposedly the Overseers of the Japanese Colonies. The Conclave Members Chronus and Axus supposedly have been "alive" since 1999. Libraria was the youngest member supposedly, but their recollections on Magic and lifespans date back at least 100 years according to Axus and Chronus. Chronus was an old colleague of Asuka's and even managed to live as long as he has!
That is not direct evidence that Japanese live long lives, but it IS evidence that the Conclave have lived an exceptionally long time as Humans. How they did so is unknown.
Baiken's memory may be vague, but it's the only vivid evidence we have that suggests she recalled the destruction of her people as a survivor.
If future GGXrd Episodes reveal more about Baiken's past, we'll be able to paint a clearer picture of events.
So far, however, because of the DNA transfer from Justice to Japan, it's implied most Japanese are Gears, and Gears are CONFIRMED to have long lifespans. The Japanese who turned in to Antimatter Gears are further proof of this, as is testimony surrounding them.
Gears like Justice and Sol have lived 100 to 200 years, Dizzy's GGXPlus ending implies she'll live 200 years or more as well. Izuna, as a Youkai, is implied to have lived since Japan's antiquity if the "Killing Stone Legend" is connected to Izuna as implied by his GG2 story.
Tyr from GGXtra is also a mystery, as he remained a child in appearance from 2162 to 2170 or so to get sealed away. He hasn't aged at all when Ky meets him again in 2181.
ahh so TK youzansen frc IAD mixups and maximized dustloops are easy for you then? I guess Sharon was just some scrub taking advantage of an easy character in the old days lol
came to this forum hoping for some more answer videos or tech and all i find is this guy...
