  1. If anything, I time myself with the sound of the hit rather than the animation. At this point it's just finding what works for you and going with it : D Oh, and obvious, but make sure you practice on a dummy that's actually crouching, since you can't really expect your opponent to be standing when the overhead hits and it'll give you the extra frames you need to follow-up. It's also good to react to when you actually land a counter with it, because then you get about 10 minutes to land and follow up with anything you want.
  2. Answering what I think I know: Only problem I've had with 3C > A Persia is when it's too far, I don't know of a reason it would fail from close. Although it does seem harder to buffer the Persia if the only move you did before was 3C. Idea is to not mash out the first A, you really gotta go 236A (very short pause) > AAA. A Bubble is best for catching rolls, as far as I know. B Bubble is alright on neutral since it goes straight, seems to work fine on oki as well. C Bubble catches jumping out AND is great to set-up the command throw gimmick where on Oki, you put out C Bubble, Dramatic Sammy as they neutral tech, the throw connects, they get grabbed by the C Bubble coming back down and you can follow-up before they get out. Not really any trick to 6B follow-up, it's all spacing and timing. If you hit with the last few active frames in the corner, you can like 5C and it'll hit. Otherwise the trick is to condition yourself to know when the long ass animation ends and buffer a dash 5A at that time.
  3. If you mash it out, chances are you'll be too high to land and do the 5C. I usually delay the last hit a bit. You have to really be in the corner as well, if you have to dash forward even a little the 5C won't connect. I feel the timing if the 22C links is more or less the same as CSE, which means 22c 5C is always annoyingly hard to place. What the combo thread seems to hint at, however, is that the 22C routes aren't even worth the trouble anymore damage-wise. I feel it depends when you hit with Mami? I think it's only a matter of when you recover, if the enemy was in the air, etc. When it hits right, you can do the 22C from where you landed and it'll connect. Most of the time I see the 2a pop-up and combo is when the opponent is down and you catch them rolling or not teching with it. It has an "S" combo rating, so there's not much you can do imo. I usually see 2A>5A>6A> stuff from it. Worth it when it kills : D Pretty much every item aside the cat hammer can be used as combo tools now and extend combos that would just do less damage if you didn't user the item. Using items for neutral AND combo tools is the whole point of the character if you ask me! Also, 5C knockback is one of the reasons Moy quit the character so... yeah, it's intense :3
  4. Glad I'm not the only one feeling like most of the rest of the cast seems to be doing fine but Plat is just lagging behind being... normal. Still fun to play but either there's a lot of things we need to get used to or she's just not broken enough for this game right now : P
  5. If you start it in the air and don't do anything, the opponent will get out automatically. I just kinda press up intermittently and that usually works out. Same goes for moving to the sides when starting it on the ground, I think, it's just harder to get the opponent to pop out of it.
  6. *see edit* Yeah it was something else. ^^; I hate how j.C Counter doesn't hitstun as much anymore : ( Also how you can just BARELY connect with 5A > 5C > 6C on a crouching opponent because of 5C knockback. And while I'm complaining: N Starter [Hammer] ... 5C > 3C > B Persia, sj.C > JC > j.D, 5C > 6A > 236B I never landed the 5C even once when I attempted this yesterday, in the left corner with Mu and a 5C Starter. It just seemed like I didn't get the necessary height to have enough time to link with it after the hammer. And yes, I made sure to super jump to j.C, jump cancel and go straight to j.D. Was it Mu's fault somehow? Dummyacct7 was saying how she had a weird hitbox so I was using her as a dummy to get used to it. Or maybe it's the B Persia timing? I always delay the last hit a bit to land faster and follow up the combo.
  7. I'd love to participate if I didn't have my hands full just... trying to actually consistently land these combos. I definitely appreciate the efforts put here, though! Question: For these sorts paths: N Starter > 5C > 236B, 6C > j.236C > j.C, A Persia, 5C [...] Where you go from Swallow Moon > j.C to A Persia, I've noticed tonight that the opponent immediately techs as soon as the A Persia ends. What could I be messing up? Edit: Figured it out, you have to land first then A Persia. :|
  8. 236AAB > Diagonal Forward Super jump to j.C > NOPE here's a Swallow Moon instead because clearly you were going for a tk Swallow Moon with that motion.
  9. Hitting Training mode yesterday has been both depressing and amusing. Like InWithTheAshes said, it just feels like so many of the useful things are gone, but in replacement there are a couple of new midscreen options with said 6C fatal, gifts, bombs and missiles. Comboing from counter Cat Hammer and Bat is a bit more convenient. I was getting punished Day 1 for trying the counter, that was also sad lol. The combos ending with Mami no longer being possible due to SMP is making me want to go back on Jourdal's vids to really analyze how Japanese have been ending their combos : P Also linking 3C with 236A AAA is harder than I thought it would be. The timing's pretty strict and you need to be fairly close to the opponent for the pogo stick to hit. But then again; I suck.
  10. Hey good games! it was sure pretty fun. xD
