    New York City Thread #1582048

I'm gonna ask this here cuz I'm not sure where else to ask it. For those who took the train: I took the N, and it was going to go from 59 st. (in brooklyn) to coney island. I wasn't sure what to do. I got out to see if there was a shuttle, but the shuttle buses were for the R, and I had no idea where they were going. I couldn't even find a fucking mta worker to ask. What's funny is the front page of the daily news today mentioned that the subway was gonna be hell today. But it usually is on weekends anyway, maybe not this bad though. So what I'm asking is, How did you get there/how was I supposed to get there? Also, what stop is it normally on the N?

I took the N (like I did when I went to the venue for guard crush or whichever is the one that's on sundays), but I couldn't remember the stop. I called a friend to check for the directions on this thread but there were no directions (I should've done this myself before I left and figured it out, friends are useless). The N was doing wacky things, and it was going to go from 59st. to coney island with nothing in between, so I got out to see if maybe there was a shuttle bus, but the shuttle bus was for the R. I had no idea what was going on so I went home. So pretty much, I tried, I'm sorry, and I'll try to be there next time and be as free as possible.

If I bring my g/f, but she doesn't play, does she have to be for venue fee? Also, we had a decent turnout for... which was the one on a wednesday like a month ago? I can't remember the name, but we had like 14 ppl I think. I was a little turned off from attending tournaments after that though. I'm feeling lazy about making this, and I'm going to be tired from going to the us open the day before (yes, I love tennis... don't make fun of me, I'll kill you) but I'm going to push to make it just to support the community.

I am, not that I expect to do well. switching mains in BB.
  5. yipes doing commentary, aawww yeeeaaahhhh. I wish I could go to this but I think Ohio is far from nyc =( why not do bb:cs though? I know its not as popular as ssf4, but i was under the impression it had a pretty good following.

I just wanna swing by and watch ppl play b/c I've never rly played but I enjoy watching ppl play it and hope (pray) it'll be released someday for xbl or something. anyway, if you people are going to be swinging by try to be a little more detailed with what time you will be there. I'd hate to go there and find no one there... it's freakin hot outside.

EVO 2010 Tournament Results and Shoutouts

What bbq sauce said seems to make sense. I just bought gg:ac for the first time last week, just got into fighting games recently with sf4 and BB. I wish I had been around for when gg:ac first came out but oh well. It definitely does feel like a more difficult game than ssf4 and bb. I can't help but wonder if GG:AC was released for xbox live and psn, and enough people made noise about it, would it help revive it a little? I mean, hdremix got a lot of attention after coming out, but then again that is street fighter so I don't know. I'm having a lot of trouble playing gg on my ps2 right now because I'm struggling using the damn pad as opposed to a stick, which I'm much more comfortable with, so I know I personally would be grateful to have the game on the 360 or ps3 as opposed to ps2. I just wish it had a scene because it really is a fun game to play and even watch (like clay gundam man).

out of curiosity what time do you guys intend on getting there and what time do you intend on leaving? (I may not be able to make it at all, but if I do it would probably be later than earlier).

Hey guys, new person here: Name: Ahmed Location: New York, NY Characters: Carl XBL: Count Demha I got into playing BB back in January (had it when it first came out but didn't have time to really get into it), but stopped about a month ago because I'm going to try to get good at sf4 (just started playing sf4 finally about a week ago or so) in preparation for ssf4 (I'm going to east coast throwdown 2, where I expect to be destroyed). I have a decent Carl. I went to chinatown fair arcade last friday and got beaten by a really good hazama who kept crossing me up, but I felt like I held my own somewhat (he was wearing big headphones, is he a dustloop member?). Anyway, I'm going to try to get into gg:ac as well since its always interested me but I never took the chance to get into it. I'll try to start going to cfa more often and playing bb:cs, hopefully I meet some of you ppl there.

    [CS1] Carl Clover Tactical Discussion/Questions/Help

Hey, I was wondering if maybe anyone had any advice on doing carl's iad>j.2C>B+C. If I try 10 times I'll get it maybe 1 or 2 out of 10 tries (a good ratio... if I'm trying to lose!). I know it can also be input as iad>j.2C~B, and I figured that would be easier, but it really hasn't helped. So basically: Which one do you guys use? Do you find that way easier or better? Any advice for someone who's struggling to do it consistently? Also, I've looked at my inputs during training when trying this, and sometimes I'll pull it off, then the next time I won't but the input is exactly the same. Maybe I'm not doing it quick enough (I feel like I'm doing it quick enough).
