  1. That's why you guys should hold regular meets at EUDEMONIA on Saturdays >_> ALSO, I want the Cardcaptor Sakura wall scroll very badly... That said, I sure hope there's some BBCS casuals being run today (might not be certain)...
  2. Ffffffffffffffffff-- I CAN HAS NO MOE. But, yes, I'll be there as soon as I'm done taking my terrible practice exams... FML.
  3. Oh yeah, I won't make it until 2PM (because of LSAT class), but in the unlikely event that my name gets called during a raffle, can I have someone get my prize for me (2 of the SF/BBCS weekly regulars will be there)?
  4. If we have enough sticks over at the SF setup tomorrow, I'll mozy on down to the Skull Girls areas with a stick or two...
  5. Thanks Tao! (that said, I'm still registering for your thing too so I can play BBCS casuals... if there are any... but I imagine that it'll be hard to get on, so I'll just pop up in the back from time to time to watch)
  6. So, wait, you guys are only taking the back part of the shop? Will the X-Boxes out front be open?

    The "Picking a Main" thread

Oh, actually, yeah, I completely forgot: she was actually who I was most interested in... Ffffffffffff-- However, not all the places will have DLC (I'm certainly getting them for myself and bringing it to my meets via my X-Box hard drive), but in the event that I don't have access to DLC characters, what's a good rush-down character that keeps people guessing? Does Bang have that kind of guessing game going for him? EDIT: Plus, I need someone to temporarily use anyway as she doesn't come out until August (while we're at it: does anybody actually have a complete date listing for the DLC characters?)

    The "Picking a Main" thread

I'm picking up the game tomorrow (today) and was wondering: I play Dudley in Super Street Fighter IV... what would be his equivalent in this game? (I mostly like him for his mixup game on wakeup or whatever... he has the overhead combo and it's great for getting people to guess; lot's of fun to play... so, I guess I want a character where I get to keep the opponent guessing during wakeup or something to that effect... which could pretty much be anyone, I guess, but I might as well ask) But, uh, yeah... played the old game and noob spammed Ragna (abcd all day), but am actually going to sit down and learn this one (will be going between here and the tutorial stuff in order to get myself going)... A prod in the right direction would help. I was kinda considering maybe Bang (something in the first few pages of this thread caught my eye), but I'm not sure... EDIT: ALSO, I was hoping Hazama, but someone in my crew is already using him, so I wanna do someone else...
  9. If at all possible, try hitting the place on Saturday night some time; me and the Street Fighter crew are there until 10PM. That aside, did you set up like a formal meeting time with Dean? It's strange as he seems to be in the shop during random times; your best bet is to set an appointment or something. ANYWAY, I'm very happy this is going through; good stuff guys.
  10. Oh, one last thing that might help people in the future (in the event that the thing with EU goes through), I don't know how, but I found a comprehensive PARKING guide for Berkeley (conveniently catered to google maps): PARKING. In the link is various spaces and information; while the price rates aren't there, you can get the contact numbers, closing times and such (interestingly, many places close at midnight; this means that people have a lot of time to get their cars out and relocate in the event that they need to stay in Berkeley longer). So, yeah, that's all from me for now.
  11. Okay, just got off the phone with Eudemonia's owner (Dean): Tao, expect him to contact you tonight. He said he'd be happy to host the event, but one of the main things he needs right now is for a REPRESENTATIVE from the organizing team to drop by the shop and decide on what they need the shop to accommodate the event with... so, uh, yeah... have a tech expert drop by within the next few days or week in order to ascertain what's going to be needed (presumably after you talk to Dean and set up a meeting); Dean doesn't want a scenario where you guys just show up with a ton of gear the day before or on the day of the event, but then he didn't have stuff to accommodate it in advanced. So, yes, good stuff guys.
  12. I'll try dropping by the shop THIS FRIDAY or SATURDAY and see if I can get someone to contact you. In any event, yes, I'll try to bug them in the shop ASAP. EDIT: Oh, here, they have a phone number: (510) 883-0814‎ Yeah, people call the place all the time (to check on their kids or something).

    Site Feedback/Suggestions

Hi, I'm just chiming into this thread to make note that some e-mail accounts are automatically banned (apparently to deal with a bot problem), but there's no immediate indicator (such as in the FAQ) as to the reasoning why an e-mail is mysteriously banned despite not being used earlier; it would help a lot of new people registering to know that, say, hotmail accounts will have a harder time registering than, say, yahoo accounts... In any event, please review this issue when there is time. Thank you. -DKL
  14. Truth be told, that might be the case, but I'd assume they weren't talking about the parking garages (but on the other hand: I don't know how full those garages get during Saturdays); someone will likely have to try and investigating said garages (prices, space, when the places close), but I don't ever remember having a hard time finding parking space in the garages whenever I was down there. (ACTUALLY, there's 3 garages in Berkeley; 2 are near the campus and I just happened to remember it right now... then there's ZELLERBACH hall's parking garage, actually) But, like I said: needs moar investigation. That said, yes... there's only like several spaces in front of Eudemonia, ie. no parking... but if people were willing to shell out for a garage to begin with, in front of the shop isn't the place to park at all.
  15. Also, there actually is another parking Garage near the UC BERKELEY campus (it's literally a block in front of it next to Blodie's Pizza)... the walk to Eudemonia is somewhat further, but note that people using cars have a lot of options (hell, people can park at a BART station and then take BART to Berkeley; the thing runs into like midnight). That said, I sure hope the Eudemonia venue works out for you guys; the place normally closes at like 1AM on Saturdays, so y'all won't be rushing around to get things done. So, yes, good luck! I'm rooting for all of you. (my stake in it is that if you guys pull it off, it's gonna help maybe solidify our position as a go-to place in the Bay Area for fighting game action... and I'm actually surprised that it isn't considering how incredibly accessible the place it; there's so many ways to get down to Eudemonia that it's ridiculous)
