    [P4AU] Aigis Q&A Thread

Thank you. I've been able to hit 5AAAA > j.66> j.2B > j.B > 66 > 5B > 2C > 22B > 236D a few times now. It's all about hitting that j.2B ASAP as you said. After getting comfortable with that (which took me about an hour to figure out lol), the combo comes together. Though, I'm not sure I'd risk screwing it up in an actual match when you can go for Orgia mix up so easily. I assume that's why I haven't seen it used much videos.

    [P4AU] Aigis Q&A Thread

So, I'm having trouble with the basic bnbs. Right now my biggest frustration is connecting anything after j.2B in the combo: 5AAAA > j.66> j.2B> j.B > 66> 5B > jc> j.A > j.B > j.2B Any tips? I've been trying to delay the first 66 since I usually cross over when I don't. Was happily surprised by the new feeling of Orgia after spending the past few weeks trying to learn the original P4A. But these combos are out of my league at this time.

    [P4AU] Aigis General Gameplay Discussion

Could you give a short example of what you mean by harder? (maybe you've mentioned this somewhere already, so my apologies if I haven't seen it) That word gets me a bit worried. I sort of fell off the map very early with the first P4A due to being new to Arcsys, and not settling on a character. I had planned on playing Aigis before she was even announced, but became frustrated with how reliant she was on Orgia, and little things like bullets being used in her auto-combo. I ended up regretting the fact that I didn't just stick with her and have fun with the game. Other characters just felt more natural, like learning optimal ranges, good pokes, bnbs, etc, but I didn't want to play them. So to me, harder isn't necessarily doing less combo damage, and outplaying the opponent more by pulling off mix ups and punishing. I feel that harder is basically having trouble synching with a character I guess. Being confined to pulling off a big Orgia combo was a turn off. Reminded me of when they nerfed Tira in SCV, and I was stuck in Jolly mode more often. I want to enjoy and utilize both modes. Idk if that's a good job explaining my thoughts...

    The "Picking a Main" thread

I know I ranted about a month ago here about my main picking difficulties, but I've narrowed it down a bit a may need some input. I'm still a noob and need to actually watch high level matches of characters. I'm only basing my thoughts off the limited things I've seen and tried to look into. Top 4 in order- Nu-13- Always liked everything about her design. Would have been my main years ago had the only person I ended up playing with not mained her. My only thing about her is that I typically play rushdown characters, or characters with good close range priority. I know for a fact I will be trying to get up in someone's face...and I'm not sure if that will be ok. Defensively, I end up in that situation a lot anyway, and find myself carefully searching for a way to get back the offensive. Hakumen- His bnb loop...I didn't want to put effort into learning it right away, but from my understanding, that's his main damage (?). Trying it over and over in training mode gave me flashbacks to the reason I got burnt out by tekken. Anything else to start out with? Tsubaki- Like her style, but got fed up with her drive back in CS. That's the only thing I disliked. When I compare her to Noel, I just found her inferior. Now though, I'm starting to find her a bit fun with that command throw, and the change to her fireball. Noel- After playing her a bit more, I really liked the look and feel of her combos, but hated using her drive for pressure, and basically refused to do it. Maybe her being a common pick also influences me a bit. My efforts would probably end up with Azrael's. ___ Azrael will move down to sub. He's the character I've been playing and doing the best with...but I just don't find him my style, or helping me improve. I'm definitely auto-pliloting.

    The "Picking a Main" thread

Before I post my own problem, I may as well chime in since I'm also considering Tsubaki again. Back in CS I tried to main her to learn Blazblue. It was my first time playing this type of fighting game. I was mostly toggling between her and Jin, but I could not execute any of Jin's staple combos. With Tsubaki, at least I could do damage with her. However, I felt it was very hard to win with her, despite feeling more natural to pick up and play. Definitely a cool character, and feels fun. ___ Anyway, I think right now I'm mostly posting to vent about myself settling on a main, so forgive me. I'm not sure what it is about Blazblue/P4A/GG, but despite loving them and watching them on streams, I always run into the problem of being indecisive when choosing the character I want, and then I just don't play them. In all other fighting games I play, I'm able to just give all my love to one character and sit on them for years (Makoto in SF, Jin Kazama, Jean Kujo, Tira, etc.). Guilty Gear is the only exception (since I know Baiken and Milia are my favs), I just have no one I know that's interested in learning with me. Now that I bought BBCP, I'm really hoping to actually pick a character I like and learn this type of game for once. I skipped the last BB, and my P4A career ended abruptly because I was frustrated by indecisiveness between Aigis and Akihiko, just like how my first attempt at BBCS ended. The characters I like are: (I like way too many to make it easy on myself) Top 3 Azrael- I was surprised I liked him so much by just randomly selecting him. He is currently the character I've been learning, and I'm actually able to win matches with him (something I can't do with anyone else). Friends are telling me to stick with him. I actually love is dash and normals. I'm unsure if I should be playing a character with links though. I would have been playing Hakumen if I wanted a character like that. Not sure if that helps me get the feel for these games. Besides that, the only thing that I dislike is that I had nearly every other character on this list considered well before he was even a thought. So...he kind of just budged the entire list by feeling so cool. Tsubaki- I definitely like the feel of her, but I still cannot win. Her neutral game is a struggle for me, and when I do get any combos, it's laughable damage. Micro-managing her charges seems to annoy me as well. As a character though, I've always liked her. Being the first one I ever tried to main also helps me always consider sticking it out with her. Hakumen-I like his defensive style, his actual moves, and his concept/design. Didn't play him in CS because he's a link character, and I believed that was counter productive to my learning. ___ Next 3 Terumi- I didn't think I'd like him until I saw his style. Quick damage. Cool looking moves. But after a while I felt that 6B was awkward during his combos. That started to bother me. Now, those were tutorial combos I was doing...so I'm unsure how optimal that would be on here. Noel- Tried her out only one time back in the day. I could easily do some combos. I like her moves visually, but I don't really like her as a character. v-13 - Despite not liking zoners, she was the first character to get me interested in BB while watching a combo video back in the day. I guess I only really liked her lifeless voice and the look of her moves. I just have that "love at first sight" thing, which makes me always consider her. __ Makoto- Tbh, I only like her due to playing the SF Makoto. Bullet is starting to seem cool to me as well...but I'm already having a hard enough time. I feel like I just added filler to this thread, so again, sorry about this. It's frustrating to like these games, and many of the characters, but never actually become remotely decent at them.
  6. Spoilers for whoever didn't play FES, The Answer. The first cutscene in The Answer, while she is fighting Akihiko, we see her blocking his attacks. She does some acrobatics, gets about mid range and starts firing her bullets. Soon after, while Akihiko is about to summon his persona, we see her once again in a close range fight with him...but this time it's her who charged him down. We really don't see much since it's such a short scene. That's all I can remember off the top of my head, but it answers your contact question.
  7. The main reason I would expect her to not be a zoning character is because of Paladian's play style. All close range, physical, beatdown attacks. We may only see her bullets while she is fighting in game, but they certainly aren't heat seeking, so I doubt there will be Lambda-like combos. I assume these bullets are like any other fireball, which most characters have anyway. This leads me to the whole, Noel-like idea. There's probably more of a chance of her being some type of zoning character, and we can only wait. I just like throwing some ideas out there.
  8. Well, I finally have a reason to try harder to learn BBCS(assuming the gameplay is very similar)...I don't want to be a complete noob at this game. I plan on maining Aigis no matter what, but I'm hoping her picture is misleading people into thinking she's a zoning based character only. I typically stay away from long range types. I mean, if no one had seen noel before, yet there was a pic of her super move, people would assume she is some ranged character. Then again, going by Aigis cutscenes, the only time she is really in close combat is with Akihiko.
