Tldr; - I like Carl-Nu. Having the doll kills a lot of Nu's neutral options, her lack of solid defensive options means once Carl gets in, it's a one-player game. I can just think about approaching in a safe yet affirmative manner. - I hate Carl-Mu. Mu's neutral shits on Carl's and victory against her will require Carl to take some sort of risk and hope it pays off. - Against Mu, I try to punish any mistake she may make in neutral (ex: punish an air stein with Brio) and move forward in a safe manner.

Carl-Mu, on the other hand, is my most hated matchup for several reasons. She has an abundance of excellent neutral tools such as steins, very strong normals and good mobility. These tools not only make it extremely hard for Carl to get in and get something started but also allow her to harass the doll safely. Mu's offense is also very strong she has the ability to perform safe pressure while being able to reap a good amount of reward from even the most innocuous stray hits. Her DP is very good for dealing with Carl's pressure and her abare is much stronger than Nu's due to increased reward, allowing Mu to play more disrespectfully on defense. The combination of all these factors make this one of Carl's worst matchups.

Carl-Nu is my favorite matchup to play not only due to the fact that it's in Carl's favor but also because I've had a ton of practice with this matchup against some excellent Nu/Lambda players; Overheat (rip) and Nedel stand out in particular for me. Anyways, the reason that match is the Carl's favor is because he can easily withstand Nu's zoning. Ada eats up all projectiles from the front with impunity and allows Carl to approach from the ground easily, something that's not very common within his matchups. Nu's arc parser followups can even be punished by Carl is he's prepared for it. Once Carl gets in, he's free to run a train on Nu since her defensive options suck.

Hey TD, question about Rachel's combos; suppose she has one stock in pressure, uses it to IOH (and gets it) and has no stocks to finish the rest of the combo, which is done midscreen (and fairly far from the comer). What can she get out of it in terms of wind regen, damage and oki compared to if she hit low instead? I'm asking this because often times, there's a chance of Carl (or anyone) being caught in a situation where Rachel is pressuring, she has one stock and can either go high or low. Since she'd have to use the stock for the IOH, I'd figure the reward off an IOH combo would be less since it's windless compared to if she went low and could then use the stock for the combo itself.

You're literally the first Izayoi that I've played so I can't say I have a credible opinion on it. From what little I've seen of this matchup, it seems somewhat reminiscent of Carl-Haku where Izayoi will be on the defensive, trying to gather stocks/resources and whittle down nee-san in a safe manner while keeping Carl away. While Izayoi has tools to make Carl respect the air space above her (her AA specials), she doesn't seem to have a huge presence in neutral; her normals seem kinda eh and her mobility isn't on Tao/Valk level. Looking at the frame data, her teleports are theoretically punishable (11f recovery?) but I didn't do much about your teleports last night so they're either better than I thought or I'm just bad lol. Keep in mind that I'm literally going off one video of this matchup, one game from you and a bit of frame data. I could very well be completely wrong about this.
