[CP] Noel Vermillion - Q&A Thread

Your thoughts on these cp2 loketest data please: Noel: - 236D doesn't wallbound anymore - 236C works different on hit now - You lose air inertia as soon as you press j.D - 236A harder to follow up afterwards. more on this site: http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=124288358

[CP] Noel Vermillion - Gameplay Discussion

Thanks for the info. What do you usually do when you don't know the habits of the guy? Let's say you assume that he has good noel exp -- cos from this, my initial thought is to 5D > d.6A to catch mashers, jump outs, rolls and if in case blocked, you can still end safely. Right?

[CP] Noel Vermillion - Gameplay Discussion

This may be a bit old but...during a 22~B corner ender, we can opt to do 6D (or 5D) > d.5A > *options* { high (d.6B), low(d.6D), bait DP(d.4D) } ... So normally, we can get poked out by a 2A just when the animation of d.5A happens right? -- it happens to me on all three options after d.5A (the high, low and bait DP) therefore, is d.2D after d.5A the only option we have for someone who mashes 2A? What other techs and gimmicks do you suggest to use to keep pressure in the corner? Specially vs a char with DP.

Don't really know where to write this but...do we have data for the (new) BBCP loketest changes for noel? Aside from what we already know -- new sexy outfit etc. If there is already, could you present the link?

Guilty as the game's title...I may be one of those "most players"...to think that the time and frustration of growing with the game (BB) and character (gameplay, strategy, matchups) will all be repeated, starting from scratch...*sigh*...then I guess I better get started LOL

Could this be said for BB and let's say...tekken tag 2? So could you get away with an easy / mashy-type character (i.e. Noel in BB) and capitalize on that character's strengths and you could still pull off a 50-50 bet against Eddie? On a side note, I prefer those character types that make opponents go "Why the fudge cant I beat this guy when he's just spamming D" or "I cant beat this noob" -- simply put: I like it if the "hate-mail-to-character-difficulty" ratio increases :D Work in terms of what? LOL -- gas price here is @ 0.45SR (saudi riyals) per Liter (for the premium its 0.65SR)...and $1 = 3.75 SR -- Do the math Even the gas dispensers here aren't electronic...instead of LED displays, you'll see those slot machine types. The price is so cheap that there'd be no point to spend so much on advertising etc. And yeah my camel runs on a Ferrari engine. :3

Guess I got my work cut out for me. Not bad. Totally agree, which is why I was hesitant before to adopt the game since 1.) there is no local gaming scene; 2.) there is no online play to compensate for the lack of #1 (or at least in terms of PSP and PS2 [?] ). But now that the port to PS3 is coming, new doors will soon open...hopefully.

Great advice guys. Will do. Is it advisable to get a character who has the same style and gameplay from the game you are used to playing? Sort of like how Valkenhayn's play and appearance is a bit similar to GG's Slayer and Potemkim to Tager. I play Noel Vermillion in BB...who's the best simulate of her in GG? I dont know if it happens to most players but usually, starting off another character takes time and to bring out your A game, you'd really have to practice and devote time and effort to it. Also, given that there are no practice/tutorial modes and vids (would they MAYBE put one in the console release?) it would DEFINITELY take more time -- i.e. watching match vids, developing your combos, tweaking to get max possible damage, matchups, practice timing, etc. TIMING: which has stricter combo timing in your opinion? 1.) KOF; 2.) BB; 3.) GG And unless you have a solid community that really gets together like every week, it would definitely be a long exp grind to get that level up. Which is why I have this small voice in my head to "just tier whore". But from what I've been reading, GGAC's tier list is established and those on the top tier can be really mouth watering to use but the drool just falls right in your face 'cos of their difficulty. Just to get the general idea...do you think there would be more players for GG than BB once it gets released on PSN and XBL. Problem now is, in the current situation, I'm seeing my self plateau after beating the CPU @ the hardest level.

Hi guys...I'm new to GG and with the upcoming PSN/XBL release, I've been thinking of playing this game. I wanted another game developed by Arksystem aside from Blazblue. Question is, how do I get started? I wanna start somewhere in the intermediate level -- I feel confident that I know the general mechanics of the 2D fighting genre and how similar the gameplay of GG is to BB. Any tips here? I'm thinking of the following steps: 1.) Practice tutorial /missioin mode -- is there even one? 2.) Check out CMV's 3.) Practice a specific character mechanic (i.e. which one's are cancelable to which move)

[CSE] Noel Vermillion Critique And Self-Improvement Thread

How do you usually end your combos in the corner? (how do you setup for a good corner game?) My thoughts: 1.) Drop the combo (Drive STUFF > BT or Fenrir) and instead do a j.5D reload 1.1. option to do 2A if they roll forward or back which will catch them for a 2A > 6C > stuff reset 1.2. if 2A whiffs after a neutral tech, proceed to grab 1.3. is there another option if 2A whiffs on neutral tech? 2C perhaps? 2.) After a BT or Fenrir, go for j.4D 2.1 option to fake a j.5D after a 6C2 wall bounce and proceed to j.4D 3.) Which on is a better frame trap setup (i think this depends on the combo performed doesn't it?) after a BT in the corner? -- 2A > 6C or 5A > 6C
