    I don't understand how other Axl players are coping with the invincibility that comes with air teching. It seems like every non-knockdown setup I try is a FREE combo for my opponent. I don't recall this being such a problem in GGXX

  4. First off: Very happy that Xrd numbers are up. I'm also selfishly happy that TvC2 AKA MvC3 numbers are down. Really hope we see some good play. Melee discussion: My biggest beef with Melee is the same beef I have with Tekken: Movement. When you have to press a thousand (hyperbole) inputs just to move at tournament pace you've officially lost my vote. Coincidentally, I find Smash and Tekken both very boring to watch. I've grown to accept Smash as a "real" game though. The smash community is as cringe as the Anime community. Why can't ya'll keep your power levels in check?

  6. Away from topic: If this YRC Super stuff is such a big deal I'd would've expected to see it more (well, at all). I'm inclined to believe that if you're getting so often burned by someone spending 75% meter to either reset their pressure or mix you up then you've probably got bigger problems. I'm sure most of us would be glad to help you plug the holes in your game. BacK on topic: Second location test has been pretty quiet. I take it that it was mostly adjustments to new characters? Evo's around the corner too, does anyone know what the registration numbers are looking like? It's an ArcRev qualifier too, should be some big names. I'm not steady on JP news but are they seeing Elphelt's hit+hurtboxes as silly too, even post patch?
  7. Hahaha, I was about to ask "Are ODs YRC able in this game!?" as that's as rarely as I've ever seen them. I'd like to think that if someone is having a problem dealing with this then they are letting their opponent gain way too much meter. That shit is so expensive and off the top of my head, rarely viable.

    Good shit! You were really cranking that guard gauge! It seemed like there were many opportunities for you but they mostly didn't work out due to weird shit happening. Not to mention that trades often work in Sol's favor. That was a fun watch though. The guys on the mic were dick-riding Eiji HARD though T_T.

    [Xrd] Axl Combo Science Thread

    Most likely just height as j.HS's animation resolves a bit high before Axl's body touches the ground. This is why it works well as a safe jump and also why it whiffs on crouching characters often (in my experience). Link the vid you're seeing it used and maybe we can help you better understand what's going on ;]

    Do we have any Axl-heads in Japan that can report in on the location test? Or, has anyone seen anything on twitter? I know that it was stated that there were "no balance changes" buuuut people have reported seeing/feeling slight differences in other characters. Additionally, I'm interested to see if Axl's Burst OD has any special properties.
  15. Yeah? I was guessing "fatal blow" to mean mortal counter. Didn't even think of the possibility it could be a IK cancel. If that's the case then I'd better have YOU WA SHOCK at the ready. At first I wanted to face palm at all of the whiny people come up out the woodwork since this reveal BUT then I remember the Tekken community during Lucky Chloe's reveal and I'm thankful that we are, at least, mildly more mature than that. Personally, I like the design though I find it more BB than GG. At the same time it falls more in line with Bridget's design language and I can accept that. I have faith in the current GG team and am thankful for their work. Xrd dropped in Feb of 2014 and I feel it's growing at a good pace. The turnaraound time between GG versions has historically been 1-2 years so it seems that everything is progressing normally.
