    Jam Kuradoberi General Discussion

2D IAD j.P was never universal. It only ever worked on light characters or characters who floated for a long time. It was however, besides a solid conversion tool, also a very strong pressure tool. But, for the characters that 2D IAD j.P doesn't work on, 6K IAD j.P is pretty universal. The only caveat for that is that you need to do whatever confirm so that you would hit 6K as far away as possible so you didn't IAD over your opponent's head, but with Jam's myriad of confirm and pressure strings, that's barely an issue. The only characters that might not work on are characters who are naturally short, but for those characters chances are 2D IAD works on them instead. So really, all it will take is learning which characters fall into category A and which fall into category B. No big deal. As for other options not sounding ideal because card is so strong, I feel that once people get a feel for the pace of a match and what is necessary to build cards, cards will be less important. Sure, getting those sorts of knockdowns are nice especially since it gives you the chance to get more resources, but by charging you're giving up pressure effectively and that's no good. Is the card more important than your momentum? Probably not. It's a nice thing to have, but I don't think it's as required as players seem to think it is right now. Hell, #R Jam almost never got a knockdown like that, it was almost always dragon kick > DP > burn kick, and that was good enough because burn kick made you fall incredibly fast so you were already on the ground and recovered while your opponent was still falling. #R Jam was all about relentless pressure and pushing your momentum, and she was a top 5 character in that game. It's easy to overrate knockdowns in Xrd because all of the strongest characters in the game all have hard knockdown into lockdown oki, but I don't think it's all that important to Jam.

Right, so I really can't wait for the game to hit consoles, because I seem to be feeling the exact opposite as most people in regards to Jam. I don't think Jam is going to need cards in Xrd at all, I think it just seems that way because people don't understand how to get damage with her any other way, but she's still got all of her tools from #R to confirm and get really strong damage output. This is a game where she has 2D IAD j.P into basically whatever the hell you want and I haven't seen people use it in a match ever. Someone did it in training mode, probably Kisshi if I remember correctly, but that's it. This is also a game where she has 6K that forces stand and you can also IAD into j.P and also do basically whatever the hell you want, and I haven't even seen that one in training mode, I haven't seen anyone do it. That should be like the easiest 30% into corner carry in the game, but instead people would rather do 2P 2P 2P 2D xx card and get 8% so they can save up for a confirm they're never going to get. Even IAD pressure has been really nonexistant in the current level of play, no one is doing IABD burn kick to control space, most people seem to be adapting a hit and run playstyle with Jam. It's no wonder early on there were comments about Jam being a weaker Sin, because that's how she's been getting played. Get the knockdown at all costs to build resources and then try to wait out for a moment to run in then back off and build more resources. I don't know any version of Jam that was played like that so I have no idea why people are doing it. Watching Machaboo play was pretty frustrating for me because he was doing well and he was winning consistently, but I still feel like he wasn't playing Jam correctly in the slightest. He was doing some good things and his OTG reset into puffball looked like a great setup that I'm going to have to steal when the console version drops, but overall I have yet to see someone who in my opinion is playing the character how she's supposed to be played. And of course it's early footage still and to most people she's a new character, but I'm still just waiting for some old #R Jam god to lay down some footage.

Personally there aren't even words to express how happy I am that it's #R Jam and not AC Jam. I hate AC Jam. It looks like they've even improved her from #R so it's double good. I can see a lot of people are getting tripped up though, I have yet to see footage of someone who is playing well. And sure, it's all very early rough loctest footage and all and plenty of people probably aren't familiar with her at all let alone #R Jam specifically, but I'm still holding out for some strong footage. I'd love to see KA2 come back and throw down with this new iteration of kung fu.

So I'm just gonna do my breakdown of everything I've seen of Jam so far. Spoilers, this is #Reload Jam to a god damn T. If you were hoping for AC Jam, prepare to be disappointed. Me however, I am ecstatic because this is exactly what I wanted. All of Jam's normals are the same, or rather the #Reload version of her normals, EXCEPT 6H and 2H. 2H is a new normal, the twirly hand thing, and I guess if people in this thread know more than I do is the new step kick? She does have her AC 6H and the follow up, but I guess that's the punch parry follow up then. I guess that makes sense. The parry 6H whatever the hell doesn't wall stick though. No idea what the parry kick follow up is. This being #Reload Jam, she has 6K IAD j.P and 2D IAD j.P. Both of these still work like they did in #R, 2D IAD on light characters, 6K still appears to force stand. She also has her old #R special cancels, so get ready to see a lot of Dragon Kick xx DP xx Burn Kick. All day every day, it's the bread and butter. Her throw is both new and the same, it's weird. It's now a two hit throw, the first hit is a straight knee to the jaw that launches, which leads into the second hit that is the classic style popup. Because of the knee, there is no YRC point, so no more 25 meter throw cancel. However, it's basically AC throw. You can jump and extend combos off of it, and because it's #R Jam, you basically get full air combos off of it thanks to special cancels. Probably the best the throw has ever been because of it. Jam's symbols now have a new mechanic to them. There's basically a level 1 attack, the default no symbol attack, a level 2 attack, which is a symbol charge attack, and a level 3 attack, which is a 3 symbol charge attack. If you hold the symbol charge you can jump straight to level 3, but it's really slow. If you build 3 symbols, you automatically force the move to level 3. The most symbols you can have stocked is 2. The level 3 moves are HUGE, they look like supers. Her Blitz Attack is Tetsuzanko. Sick. All of her specials seem to operate like they did in #R. EDIT: Also I'm seeing on Twitter that 2S is different and j.K is different. Haven't seen those yet so it's interesting to see how much they changed her. Also, IK.

    Big Bang Beat Revolve

Mauve has already said he doesn't want to make a caster for the game, don't bother him about it. Frankly I've gotten used to being the only dude who plays the game.

6C is for when you put someone in a molotov.

Servers still dead, no one cares about it just like they always did, I'm still coming up with new tech and ways to keep the game alive at least for myself. Same as it always was. Also, yes, you can still update to 1.06, Aja had the foresight to put downloads on their nonfunctional website you can still download, it will update a clean install to 1.05d and then from there you download another patch to get to 1.06.

    Big Bang Beat Revolve

Whether they remember it or not is kinda irrelevant, wouldn't you think? If it had playable online we could spread the word about it and get people to try it out. If they hated the first game (and for good reason at that), we would just let them know Revolve is a completely different game made by a different company. I think if people would give it a chance they'd like it.

Maybe we should bombard Mauve with begging to make a caster for it. Playable online is the only way I see anyone being able to revive this game.

    Big Bang Beat Revolve

http://www.paletweb.com/selectpage.asp?code=0004429 I wouldn't exactly advise purchasing it, because as of about January of last year Aja and their servers went down, taking the online with it. There is currently no means to play the game online, making purchasing it pretty much a waste of your time and money.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyzMWwiMd9k Some Daigo shenanigans. He has pretty much the longest combos in the game.

A lack of working online and a dead developer that can't patch the game further pretty much sums it up.

So as it turns out Devil Daigo is secret god tier. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ythgGHuMRM Decided to boot up Revolve again for old times sake and as it turns out, Devil Daigo can air dash cancel (infinitely, I might add) his j.f+C on block or hit, and his DP+B can also be canceled by any air move or air dash on hit, which leads to this combo here. DP+B air back dash cancel j.C whiff to hit the ground faster st.C super st.C xx DP+B xx j.f+C. Trying to find better midscreen applications, but this is pretty good. Also, I wish there was a timer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XH64x7a0zjU

That was 1st Impression. Revolve is an entirely different game and actually not broken. Imbalanced maybe, but still good. Mizuumi probably still has a bad taste in their mouth from BBB1.

If there's a Thumbs.db file in your main folder, try deleting it. Their website went down and I guess they're trying to fix it, or maybe they stopped, I don't know. I don't think they went bankrupt, but they don't seem to be bringing back their blog any time soon. I doubt there will be any updates unless the website comes back.
