  1. Yeah her theme is sweet. It's second only to Margaret's theme from Persona 4 Arena for me. As far as character themes are concerned. Sorry Tsubaki's theme, you have been replaced!
  2. Hard to see, but the follow up to the glass screen is a small blade, similar to Nu/Lambda's drive swords. The beam might be a super.
  3. So she's flashy as all get out. Appears to have setplay similar to Kokonoe, where she places down a field of some sort and teleports to the other side. Her normals look to have large enough hitboxes to them. I'm not sure if that mirror she does has a hitbox, but it looks to be a better version of Mitsuru's Bufula. In P4U 2.0 Mitsuru can absorb 3 projectile hits, Nine can reflect at least one projectile and the mirror is still active. Now if that mirror she does has a hit box and has multiple hits that would be strong. Fire appears to be her motif though and will more than likely be the strongest of her spell combinations. Always nice to have meteors as your astral heat. Kinda sweet they gave her a visual indicator of which element she's using with that little ribbon thing. For instance, that seed thing is Fire fire wind and double water gives are a mid-range ice attack. I wish they showed a bit of her UI though so we can see how she has these things stocked. Looks sweet nevertheless.
  4. Nine sounds interesting with that amount of spell combinations to remember on top of combos. I hope all the combinations have at least some situational usefulness. Though considering how video games are, she will have a set of spell combos that are far more useful than the rest.
  5. I'm liking Naoto. The previous videos weren't super high quality so I couldn't get a sense for what is going on. But now I can and I'm curious as to how his combo paths and gameplan develops over the next few weeks. Hibiki looks sweet too. He has that Yosuke vibe to him, gameplay wise. Speedy characters are always tricky for me to use.
  6. Doesn't this largely depend on what your EA is? I'm still somewhat confused by the mechanic, but its plus on block for all characters. So unless it pushes back far enough away you're still in an awkward situation. Like if your back is against the wall, your positioning won't be ideal depending on character of course. So I'm kinda hoping they do a compilation of all the EA. This does make for an interesting mind game that you wouldn't have had against a DPless character.
  7. I kind of like the surprise factor when they don't have location tests for certain characters. Flip a coin, will they be broken in a good way or bad. That sort of thing. Though, ironically, its not much of a surprise for us considering we'll get the game some months down the line and Japanese players will have most things mapped out by then.

  9. I'm having flashbacks to playing Goldeneye with my friends and someone picking Oddjob. The horror!
  10. Well you do have a point. Until some game play surfaces this is more of a speculation thread.
  11. Welp, I think I have a feeling what Hibiki's gag reel will be.
  12. Hmm, this doesn't make sense to me. If he's an assassin then having a sharp weapon is almost mandatory. You want your kills to be as quick as possible. Having a weapon that doesn't kill immediately increases the chances he'll be caught in the action. If he's using blunt weapons to beat the person to death, then there's also the chance the person may scream... it just seems so unprofessional to me. Plus he's using two weapons. You only need one to assassinate someone so he doesn't really scream assassin to me from a practical standpoint. His weapons actually make me think he wants to straight up fight since he's wielding two. For instance, parry with one weapon, attack with the other. That sort of thing. But that's just realistic stuff. In anime assassins can be flashy and impractical and Hibiki does seem like an interesting character to me. I like the weapon style.

You can find matches in the afternoon so it's somewhat active I guess. Not sure how this compares to other anime fighters though.
  14. Sure there are a lot of characters, but basic fighting game principles still apply. You can never play against a certain character but still be able to deal with them. Footsies will still work so will neutral game etc. Just do your homework. Top players prepare extensively in case these situations pop-up. You don't want to go into a match lacking information.

You know, I just thought the reason Shadow Labrys was C tier was because of her health. I forget the actual number, 8k-8.5k, at any rate, the top tiers are shadow characters with unburstable max-damage combos so they can easily one-hit kill her. In a game like this, I assumed that since Shadow Mitsuru, Chie, and Ken see a lot of play, they reduced the value of Shadow Labrys and make people reluctant to use her and instead pick someone that can deal with top tiers. She's not bad or anything. The top tiers are just really good against her.

Good Games to rathaloss and Guy_9997. I didn't think I would do so well with Shadow Mitsuru so I think I'll start using her more. Twas fun!

Hmm, well execution wise, Nu is a lot easier now. I haven't gotten all the nuances about her just yet though. I really like how she flows now. So fluid. I feel powerful.

That's interesting stuff. I haven't played BB in over a year. Might be worth picking up Nu again.

5B also doesn't push Mitsuru back anymore. So she can get ground-to-air combos consistently now. No need for meter or jumps.

To add on to my post. Go here. It's LK explaining how to use training mode. It's a bit old, however it should still prove useful. If you want some more information, he has a series of sorts as well.

    [P4AU] Mitsuru Kirijo Combo Thread

If it works it works. Bufula C is doable sometimes in netplay because a lot of players like to tech forward after I DP or something and they end up getting hit. Aside from that, I suggest not ending your combos with air DP because you will reset the round back to neutral, and you want to prevent that as much as possible. There are exceptions, such as if you get an air hit confirm with j.A > j.C > etc. Your combos are fine though. If you're able to time the hits of Bufula SB, you can do Bufula SB > 5(maybe uncharged will make the timing easier) > 2 > etc. If you want to feel like Shadow Mitsuru in a slightly more practical sense try (or 2B >) 2DD > 4 > 2 > Bufula D > AoA~D > Bufula SB > Mabufudyne > Myriad Arrows. Does about 7k and they have to be somewhat close to the corner. Increasing damage beyond 7k does into neta combo territory (5B FC starters, bursts, etc).

Go here and learn about fuzzy os. Go here to learn about the mistakes netplayers make (they're pretty common). Go to your respective character's forums and watch lots and lots of replays. Even if the people playing aren't pro level, you will learn what to do and what not to do. Gain experience and communicate with the people you're facing. You never know what you can end up learning. If you wish to get better at hit confirming, set the training dummy to Block - Random until you're comfortable enough to hit confirm consistently. If you wish to get better at defense, set up several commands for the training dummy to do, and make the training dummy do them at random. Check up the frame data on your character and every other character in the game(this includes things like studying jump height since there are characters who take advantage of this). I know some people skimp this, but you really shouldn't. All about having more information. Not exactly my routine since I've learned all this stuff. I hope it helps. I should also mention that you should also learn your character's counter to fuzzy os as well since fuzzy os has become apart of the netplay meta (at least among the better players since fuzzy os destroys most netplayers).

The only reason would be awakening defensive boost and auto combo. They're both top tier though. So there's that.

    [P4AU] Mitsuru Kirijo Gameplay Discussion

Your 2.0 example doesn't tell the whole truth. If that were the case S-Mitsuru wouldn't be top tier atm.
