makes sense. in theory, we pretty much lose unless we outplay 100%. I rarely play the match up, so i was wondering what made it so hard. I only played nemesis in CP but i think he had as much experience in the match up as me and it didn't seem that bad prob because he doesn't seem to know much about tsubaki or at least struggles against her.

In short, timing. CP1.1 has been out for awhile. XRD is a fresh game that most would rather join. Also a bunch of other tournaments in other states were the same day as well. I'd say we're pretty lucky to have about half of what last year was. We'll see if 2.0 will jumpstart the game again, but since it's not an evo game this year, who knows.

Yeah, rushing him or keeping major space are your options. Once you got the charges, you can use it to get it, or DP. You'll need to know what arakune is capable of and what specials look like what to make your moves. Most of his projectiles are hitting parts of the screen, if you know which parts are what, you can rush in. His backdash is dumb though, if you can see when he's gonna backdash, just keep rushing and use meaty 5B or something.

Rush or space full screen. you dont want to be blocking him or giving him curse meter. If you rush and are on the offense, his options are little besides his DD reversal. If you keep your space full-screen, not much can touch you so you're free to charge small bits. If you get cursed, the best i can tell you is block low and react to his overhead and his j.B (i think it's j.B). If you get cursed full screen, cheese him out. Just run.
