    Yup! It's the same reason why we could safe jump with j.C after air B coup, but not grounded B coup. (in p4a) edit: it's also worth pointing out that there will be more hitstun the higher they are in the air.

    I think it works because of how the hitstun of B Coup works. There's a minimum amount of time/frames that the opponent can't tech after B coup, but it doesn't start until they touch the ground. It's like a slide that always takes the same amount of time. If the opponent is above the ground when you hit them with b coup, then it takes longer for them to hit the ground and begin the minimum hitstun that goes along with the slide. I hope I explained that well enough. I just woke up. It does seem weird in this case though, since Yosuke barely looks like he was off the ground. I guess that little bit is all it takes? edit: Apparently, airborn 5B > 2AB > B coup > 2A > 2B works, which I was hoping for. Same idea there.

    Sweep 5D is gone, but Narukami somehow still looks better to me than he did before. I would trade derp autopilot freebee mixup for more options in a heartbeat. I'm on planning giving him a shot as a sub this time around again.

    It's nothing new. Being able to sweep under j.B and 5B is (just) one of the reasons why Mitsuru vs Liz is so bad.

    DIE-chan showed us why shadow characters are terrifying, during a stream last night aimed at showcasing the new shadow versions. Die-chan, Stunedge, Souji, and Kirisame were present. http://t.co/OCsJPcAqkC DIE-chan did practically the same confirm off crouching 5AA confirm as well, and attempted it off other starters but dropped it. This definitely shows some potential for Shadow Mitsuru. Losing 20% damage, awakening mode, bursts, and the new auto-combo are all big trade-offs, but this really shows that she still has promise! ... Here's some fuel for your nightmares, guys.

    Marin Karin will likely become more important, simply to let us confirm into real damage more often. If new ways to combo midscreen are found, then 2DD should probably be used towards the end of a combo. Using it early might spoilt the combo's potential, due to its proration.

    Without just saying "I'm worried about her damage" this is my biggest concern right now (Meaning I hope someone figures out something soon. Come'on japan give us some combo vids!) Converting into real combos. It seems fairly simple off air hits and other situations where 2B > 2DD is possible, but what about crouching confirms? I've yet to see any meter-less way to confirm into real combos. Midscreen we still need to OMC, which I was expecting. But even in the corner it seems like we'll need to spend 25 meter for SB Coup. I wouldn't mind this, but since we'll have meter cooldown, we wont gain any of it back. Sure thing! I'll be fairly busy this whole week with finals though.

    I've been thinking about Mitsuru's changes a lot, and although players haven't fleshed her out again yet, I can see some patterns emerging. She has a laundry list of buffs, which nearly all fit into being new/more options for pressure and neutral. She has a laundry list of nerfs, which all focus on removing damage. More options. Less damage. I'm perfectly fine with that. In p4a I occasionally had matches that I knew I wouldn't have won, if not for a lucky 5k+ confirm. That feeling doesn't sit right with me. I vastly prefer to feel like playing solid and making decisions were the reasons for my wins. And happily for me, that seems to be the direction asw is taking with her. More opportunities and tools to play solid. Fewer instances of BS damage. Now, with that all said, Let's hope someone finds some more damage. I am curious though. Do you guys think that the massive damage nerf still outweighs her buffs? More options and tools are great, but if we need twice the confirms to win, it'll still be tough. Personally, I prefer this version of Mitsuru so far. I believe she is comparable to p4a Mitsuru, and definitely a strong character again.

    Could feinting [5B] be as simple as canceling it early? I've yet to see it feint completely, but I've seen it go into throw, 2C, and Coup.

    Rewatching this footage for a third time, I kept getting the impression that 5A hitbox has been buffed. Normally max range 5A would wiff on crouching Naoto, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. After hearing rumors during the loketest that 5A beats Chie 2A and Naoto 2A, I had assumed that those moves no longer low profiled or something. But now I feel like it is more likely that 5A has recieved a buff to it's hitbox, allowing us to reach crouching opponents from further distances and also get low profiled less often. here's an example of what I mean. it also shows off 5A > backdash. edit: I think A coup might not be low profile-able anymore. It seems to beat naoto's sweep here. And going along with what I've been seeing with 5A, it would make sense.

    Until I see some footage of this happening, there's just too many possibilities in my mind to say for sure. I'm really curious about this. I'm also hoping to see tentarafoo as a combo ender (somehow). There's probably some dirty stuff we could do with that.

Throughout the next several weeks, I will be updating this thread with changes that have been confirmed. Please move all other topics to the P4U2 Gameplay Discussion Thread. ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ Although the three loketests gave us a good deal of information on where Mitsuru was heading, it only painted a small picture. There is only so much that can be found out through twitter. Without much footage available to watch, it was difficult to confirm much as fact. Furthermore, most of the changes made evolved from one version to the next. It is likely that a large portion of the changes we have heard of up until this point won't make it into the arcade release. With P4U2's arcade release comes a chance to observe footage and compile information which will allow us to understand the current version of Mitsuru better. I will be updating this post with all of the information posted in this thread, doing my best to link video examples of each change. Hopefully this will paint a clear picture to anyone who is curious about the meaning of something. Information will be categorized and sorted as buffs, nerfs, and general information. Please keep in mind that we are not comparing the current version of Mitsuru to the past three loketests. We are comparing her to how she is in P4A, the current console version. ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ Next to each change there is a link to an example of it, shown by "***" Buffs: 2DD ground slides now, allowing for easier confirms. *** New move: Tentarafoo, an ice wave projectile that inflicts confusion. Hits low. *** 5B is now forward dash cancel-able. *** 5A is now backdash cancel-able. *** 5C is now backdash cancel-able. *** Bufula can no longer appear off stage, allowing for easier use of it in corner combos and possibly oki. Applies to all versions. *** Throw buff, opponents can't tech until hitting the ground. Makes for better oki off throw and easier combos in the corner. *** edit: I believe this player late teched 5B now has a feint! (sort of) Can be canceled early into most normals or specials.*** *** Nearly all of Mitsuru's A and B normals are short-hop cancel-able 2B and [2B] have increased hitstun. This is an important part of Mitsuru's new combos. Nerfs: Significant damage nerf across the board. We saw it coming. B Coup Droit has fatal recovery, a counterhit state where any move will fatal counter it. *** Bufudyne has fatal recovery. *** 2AB (Sweep) no longer fatal counters. *** D Bufula reduced from 3 hits to only 1. *** B Coup > 2A no longer works in the corner. SB Coup > 2A still does. Can no longer combo off 2D. 2DD should be used instead. 5DD prorates poorly now. Full combos are possible, but with far less damage than before. SB Bufula appears further away than before, going offscreen if used midscreen. Potentially makes setups midscreen more difficult. *** General Information: [*]Mitsuru has a new autocombo that works at near max range 5A. Shadow Mitsuru keeps the old one. *** [*]D bufula now appears midscreen and slowly moves towards Mitsuru. Also reduced to being only 1 hit. *** [*]Bufufyne is still air unblockable, even though it was changed shortly in the loketests. [*]2DD, 5DD, and j.DD all travel differently on hit. They can all be confirmed but differently than before. [*]Fatal Counter [5B] still crumples on hit, allowing plenty of time for confirms.
