  1. Hey, not really concerned here (and didn't post for a while) but I was searching for a solution about this very problem a few months ago and here are my conclusions if it can help. Sorry if it sounds impossible to do due to web developpement being involved but that's what I thought could help. The problem you have here is not only related to how to organize the forums but the user experience of writing content for others and accessing/sharing this very content on the forum. / Delete this post if you feel it's irrelevant / First you need to realize wikis are shit. Wikis are shit because the technology powering them is shit. In the age of mobile browsing, most wikis, including Dustloop aren't even responsive for mobile navigation and they aren't used as a ressource when going to a tournament. Wanna check for a frame data before a match? Good luck reading a giant non responsive table on your phone, you'd better have it in a file text. Also wikis designs are crap and the editor to write into the wiki isn't engaging at all. In the DL wiki you can write LATIN characters with a click but you need to copy/paste a link to an image to get an arrow. How dumb is that? And the large editor with small font size and font style makes it look like an old man thing from the past. Not engaging at all for newcomers and younger players. But on the other hand wikis can be fantastic and you still need them because you got revisions, it's editable by everyone, people can add info, others can correct it, you can come back if someone vandalizes it. So why are people posting everything in the forum and visitors aren't going to the wiki? Well as we saw wikis aren't user friendly, you need to open a new tab to go to them and most people are lazy. Oh and maybe you don't even know the wiki exists. And since the forums are so much more user friendly you don't feel like moving to somewhere else, it's easier to ask than search and the forum works on mobile not the wiki so bleh. But as you all realized, forums are shit to organize information, link to information, update informations. So what you need here is not a way to organize information in the forum, it's first to make people want to participate in the wiki and then a way to take information from the wiki and post it to the forum. By posting it, you show that this wiki entry can be edited by anyone and if they try to edit it, you welcome them with a nice interface where they will feel at home and all it took them to get there was a click. One of the solutions I found is to be able to embed wiki entries on the forum and design them as cards. To ease it, you add shortcodes to the forum. Example: I want Sol Xrd combos I type [XRD:SOL:COMBOS] and boom, the sol combos from the wiki are on the forum. This way the data is always fresh as it comes from the wiki, you don't need giant first posts as everyone can get any data with just a code. And even if you want giant first posts, you don't even have to edit them in the long run. I know it sounds rather complicated to implement (I didn't do it as my own wiki is dying and I have no forum) but if you manage to do it a lot of your problems are solved. You can then come back to the first goal of a forum which is discussing about the game. And instead of telling people to go to a thread to get an information when you're are bored to answer the same question for the X time, you can just simply type a short code to deliver it to them without even changing your browser tab. Now you need a webdesigner and developpers. Good luck. ^^

Gentlemen... I don't read japanese at all. Is there someone here who have the Tougeki DVD could put the names of the players for each match and also the names of the teams ?:8/: Picked matchs : http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185506.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185535.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185549.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185612.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185642.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185714.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185735.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185752.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185820.jpg Once I'll have the names I'll put a try in photoshop to add translated names on images (with smaller sizes) so everyone can understand who is playing against who. Rtl : math is not practicing, math does not need practice, because math is like chuck norris, when he does a pile bunker, that's not him going forward, that's the ennemy coming to eat the pile bunker.

[FRANCE] Ranking Battle Videos 3rd Edition

Hello guys ! The gnouz ranking are finished... The people didn't have enough time to continue them, but we are not dead yet, here are videos of a big session in Lyon featuring some of the best french players. A little thing : the tournament had teams created by lottery, and many people played a bit in a funny way, others seriously. They were also big battle royal for the different playrs of different cities ! As cuongster was the only one of strasbourg, he played alone ! And fear Math the nem, the all mighty pile bunker dealer, playing with a football stick ! You cannot imagine the ambiance during the final, we were all like this : Almost all videos were recorded and uploaded by AZ, he also helped me putting a new PCB in my stick from 2am to 5am... That was an incredible weekend.

Except Axl, I don't see what characters you are talking about concerning Storm Vipering everything that looks like a poke... Venom it's impossible, Bridget the same... Faust maybe...? Solution against poke : dash break, double jump, 1Frame jump > Air Dash, IAD with gard, Savage fang lvl 2, far S, Fafnir... And maybe a storm viper yeah... One per month ! That applies too to the order sol player doing blindly storm viper...

    [Accent Core] Order-Sol General Discussion

Hey guys stop saying "My mixup is better" or "We didn't see that in four years !". The fact is that order sol has mixups. In tournaments you play one or two matchs, and in those matchs you'll have to use mixups that will confuse your opponent, and that's all. The matter is not the age of the mixup or things, the matter is that the mixup works. Imagine you press and do this : - P, S, 2k, 2D and the 2D connect. Next time you could do this : - P, S, 2K, BRP lvl1,2,3. and the BRP connects, great ! After that you can do for exemple : - P, S, 2K, BRP FRC throw and the throw works. And again after that : - P, S, 2K, Charge cancel, run, Throw and the throw works again. The important is to be logical to you opponent to trick him. You are often talking about many things that are just theory, or applicable only in freeplay when you played many matchs with the same oponent and that you need to find something new/more complicate, a situation that rarely happens. The mixup is a technique, but that's the psychological pressure that is important (and you have ways to keep it, the simple alternance of good zoning, pressing and gard is enough), and your own psychological status at the moment you play (you have ways to keep it too), not really deblatering about the age of a mixup.

    [Accent Core] Order-Sol General Discussion

Hey Reaver, why don't you go out sometimes, quitting the forums, seeing the world you know... Looks like youa re in stress this season.
  12. Rensengeki : truly I think you should not try to find a location in Stockholm. I know many of you laughts when we said stenhamra was great, but as the place was big with a lot of place, a market nearby and... a freezer (gorgeous !), we felt that we didn't need anything else than that and the sixteen televisions. Seriously, even if it's funny for you, for us these conditions to play were far better than being in a small place but in a big city. Comfort is more important in my opinion than hype of a big city : we came to play, see your level, compete it and we were truly very satisfied, and that is, in my opinion, the more important.
  13. Trully ? With photos of people yelling "YOU WA SHOCK !!" ?? Nice vids guys, still a very good level in your country. By the way, when is the next showdown, the french players are all waiting for it !

    [Accent Core] Order-Sol Combo Thread

Sorry to say it reaver but i must agree with him : you are a bit arrogant on this forum, and guys told me that you weren't that way during the tournament, kinda a cool and normal guy. As for the guides I agree with people : he is very good that way, and many other things you have to learn (Mostly for me the Hit confirm, the Dash Break and the psychological domination in a match) is coming with many matches and a good coach to help you. I really improve in pressing and pressure when Nooj learned me when I needed to gard and when my time has come to attack. And it's something a guide on a forum cannot do, in my opinion of course. Some told me you were fun to watch (too much dragons) but not a very good player, and taking a beat by 27 by Mitsurugi makes me feel that way. I heard that you were always doing Dash > Dragon and after that ask Mitsu "How did you know I was going to do this". Mitsurugi is possibly one of the most calm and zen players you can find in france, he's for many persons one of the most intelligent players, and you really have to think of HOW you can beat him, what ways you have to counter him. He is a player wich makes you progress. HolyBadSanta, Feilap (who was in stuttgart), and even myself can beat him even if he is more strong than us as we learn a lot from him and him from us. Taking a BB is not a big deal, but continue playing this much always the same way against a man knowed to be thinking and not change your way of playing do not make me feel you are enough skilled to make a guide, even a psychological guide of how to use dragons at wake up. I was not here to watch and relies on my friends players who liked you, but not your style of playing, and I totally trust them. And if you want to know how he did that, it's simple : we have players making as much dragons as you do in France, some are really good players (Ryukim), so counter this kind of playing is easy after a match, so when you have years of experience, it's cake. Ps : consider it not like a way of making fun of you, but an advice to progress. Next time think about how you can surprise your opponent and beat him. It's better to think about yourself and your play before trying to teach others.
