    More or less Yukiko has too many losing MUs in neutral where she just gets bullied, then she has very poor options to actually deal with what happens afterwards since pressure and momentum are so nuts. When she gets random hits or openings, she can't reliably turn them into much, so she's going to need too many chances or take too many risks vs most of the cast. She has some cute things like her unblock, but the consistency of her getting to that point isn't there. That's the basic idea, I'd have to get Zealous to breakdown specifics further.

    Too bad Yukiko might not be viable anyways for other reasons :V No need to overthink it guys, an anti-air is something you hit to knock people out of the air. You AA with a lot of shit, hell try it with 5A sometime. Some are just better than others.

    The flaw is she's remarkably average and honest in a game where almost any character can send you hurtling into the sun because they felt like it.

    I keep saying these things over and over again in hopes that one day I will not have to say them ;w; The point is less that new chars suck, and more that using education to explore a character early and find worth is really important. That's what we base the speculation on. Like, not that they're bad, but we can identify what's actually strong vs actually weak relatively quickly if we're intelligent about it. In some cases it's really obvious (day one Kokonoe we saw buttons, combo rate, black hole all miles ahead of the cast) in some it's more subtle (things like OSes beating Marie's stuff and button MU issues) for what it's worth. Edit: Btw, literally day one myself and a few other people said Adachi appeared strong. By the end of the first week with him we thought he was a high-mid range character and it still holds up! Most of our educated guess were pretty right. Forums are great for information, but remember literally ANYBODY can sign up and say ANYTHING, so make sure you listen to those who are worth listening to. This is why I'm actually pretty strict and boo hoo about information sometimes, I don't want a new player to believe something that sounded smart but was actually written by somebody who had no fucking idea what they were talking about.

    I wrote a thing about how we use JP tier lists to help learn a game sooner, read it http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sapj5p Has some cute stuff about impressions of Marie. Output is low, neutral is weak, pressure and mix up are weak, etc. when compared to the rest of the cast. The impression is that she'll be weak without a major discovery taking place. Edit: I don't like talking about character power level over and over again because that's all people ever talk about in these threads, and they're usually on pretty base assumptions and observations. I do want to point out how I come to the observations I come to though, and try to help make the discussion a bit more interesting. edit edit: sorry if that came off condescending, I'd just rather if we talk about this stuff it carried more depth/thought than the base stuff.

    lots and lots of practice. If there's a specific srting you need to consistently IB *cough Mitsuru dial A *cough* you can record the dummy to do it and practice for awhile. A lot of the JP use defensive OSes on top of the IBs, so they're scoping out all that stuff.

    Did you not read any of my other posts? I said we can only give impressions for new chars and that we are done talking about tier lists in here, everything that's needed to be said has been said. Time to focus on something more useful to us.

    Actually it does help because it gives realistic expectations for the shape of our MUs. There's a lot more to a tier list than the raw MU numbers and character strength. We don't have a MU chart list yet which sucks, but we have ideas. Ideas are good to have lol. We have a lot of knowledge and are learning things. These are all basic shit. If a character forces weird MUs it won't change the list drastically, it'll just shift where chars are located. You know what we don't know? All the OSes and in depth meta that has existed in this game and been developed in Japan. We're gonna stop talking about the tier lists until we have a better reason to. That other stuff should be talked about though, so try looking into it or asking around about it.

    Actually it's fairly accurate if you're a homie from glorious Nippon. Does nobody know that Japan has been playing this with 900 PSR players for a year and has had national tournaments.

    The game has been out for nearly a year in Japan, they can formulate tier lists. Hell, we can formulate some "impressions" ones based on that and our limited experience. The only thing we can't tier yet are the new characters entirely. We can give early impressions based on the rest of the game, but not accurately tier them. Like for now Rise and Adachi both look pretty good, Marie is weird and kinda meh, and Ken is we have no idea really. Like that's fine. People are so touchy about tier lists lol just don't be a sheep.

    When you're in orgia, you do an IAD motion and then go to down forward. It looks like a triangle, you can use it to cross up with air turn. Phrase comes from MvC2, since it's very similar to MvC style airdash mix up.

    Pick up with 2B instead of 2A. Yes, you get a safejump by just jumping with they tech, you can usually just hold up and it works. You can also yous boost j.B or trijump j.B or cross up tri jump j.C to create a DP safe mix up. It's all in the timing.

    She's very similar, except her movement options almost quadrupled. You should really practice mode switching and moving around with flight, those are massive and will carry over big time.

    You need to input the 214A or they end up further away and it's basically just luck if you'll hit it. Manually inputting 214A leaves you closer and the combo infinitely more consistent and easy.
