  3. Could all of you please shut the fuck up? Frosty Faustings is banning macros. NEC is probably also banning macros. If you use macros and want to compete at majors please learn a way to not use macros for the time being. If you want to allow macros at your locals or casuals that's on you and your scene, no one else gives a shit. If you play randoms online expect macro bullshit, that's the chance you take. Further discussion is not necessary.
  4. I wish I knew why I didn't ban Dusk like 20 pages ago. This argument referred specifically to doing DPs in blockstring gaps. You'd need to be FDing at some point to be holding the macro in order to get the VV and still be blocking. If you have time enough to hit the macro while you're not blocking you might as well not even use the macro. I'm sure you would've realized that eventually, though. Anyway, this glitch is dumb and the shit it allows is dumb. It's bad for the game. I'm not going to bother to ban in at local tournaments because I don't expect anyone to get a strong enough handle on it/care enough to use it, but as far as majors go I think we just need to buckle down and ditch macros unless we can all somehow decide we're mature enough to handle not abusing them. The scene is small enough that this is plausible, but... Dammit, Shinjin, why couldn't you just keep your mouth shut for a year.

  6. I just want to see this break the game in half before I vote to ban macros. Go to tournaments, tear it up with Justice and Baiken and whoever. I wanna see how bad it is in practice. I'm genuinely intrigued.
  7. It's fine. I just want to make sure people can find gameplay info easily, while still giving people a chance to get hype and discuss stuff. So long as stuff gets in the right thread I don't really mind! If a post is in the wrong place, a mod will simply move it. No harm done.

  13. As a technique, it's practical enough that AC Bridget players relied on it for anything approaching high-level play. No reason to believe a Justice player couldn't manage it as well. You're cool and all, but shut the fuck up. You don't get bonus points for overcoming a condition or electing not to make use of your index fingers out of some asinine sense of moral superiority. Playing to win means making use of any advantage you can, and if the game sees fit to offer macros, I don't see why players shouldn't be able to use them. Apply this mentality to any other aspect of fighting games and you're just another scrub.
  14. Hey Pasky, what setup did you use to get frame advance and 640x480 working with your hitbox viewer? Only frame advance PS2 emu I'm aware of is pcsx2-rr (which is crazy outdated and the viewer doesn't seem to recognize it).

    This (as well as my previous post) is inaccurate. The CS1 DLC characters (Makoto, Platinum, Valkenhayn) had character art/names/HUD stuff, but only a single sprite of Ragna with no palette information iirc. I could pull up the data again to check, but that hard drive is dead and fuck downloading it again. Point is ASW isn't exactly known for on-disc DLC. It's not something I'd be concerned about here. Also, characters you can unlock in-game that have an option to pay for their immediate use (Mu-12, Unlimited characters, possibly Kagura/Terumi) don't really count as on-disc DLC in my view. I do hate DLC characters, though. Just makes it harder on TOs.

    This was touched on before, but just to clarify: the content of the discs they'll be shipping as Chrono Phantasma was finalized months ago. The process to actually get a game on consoles is a long one. Anything they continued to work on after that point (Terumi, Kagura, Kokonoe) have to be DLC. They may end up on the disc in some form (CS had sprites for the three DLC characters, but minimal data), but for now, save your disappointment until the inspection.

    Re: Axl, I'm having the exact same issue. I had it for a while, came back the next day and it was gone. I can't even blame a stealth patch since my PS3 doesn't have internet access... so weird. Didn't consider APB after the landing c.S, mostly focusing on meterless options when I explore this stuff, I just got the 2H, realized Heat didn't work, and wrote Heavenly. Not that Potemkin isn't chock full of meter nowadays since we're not spending it on every Buster.

    Faust is pretty easy. sj.P > j.P > j.K > j.S > j.H |> c.S > 2H > Heavenly. Almost no delay on the air buttons. I can't get c.S > 2S > Heat or c.S > 2H > Heat to work. Maybe j.H |> 2H > Heat would work, but I can't get the timing.

    I'm not stopping speculation, I'm reminding people that we'll have concrete info this weekend at TGS and once translations are done. If you want to make an educated guess, go ahead. For example: the green gauge probably means it's recharging.
